X Month X Day — Sunny
Today, I received a report that human adventurers appeared near the village.
Apparently, the lookouts loosed arrows to scare them off, but it’s certain the humans have learned of this settlement.
I would like them to leave us alone if possible, but that will be difficult.
In the worst case, we will have to abandon this village and flee. But even if we run… can we truly escape?
X Month X Day — Rain
Lately, it feels like frenzied monsters have been attacking the village more often.
So far there hasn’t been major damage, but if they come as a pack, then aside from me, the others will be in danger.
We need to increase the number of escorts for those who go into the forest to gather.
X Month X Day — Sunny
I have a lot to write today.
First, a group of humans came to the village.
Each and every one of them was an unbelievable expert—if it came to battle, our defeat would be certain.
They said they had come here after receiving a request from a human village outside the forest to “deal with” us.
Their leader called himself Fels, and though we are goblins, he spoke to us without showing the slightest hostility.
He must be quite an eccentric.
Fels said the country was already in motion, and that before long, an army would be sent to our village.
Fels and his companions as individuals might be one thing, but a human nation would never overlook goblins.
We had no choice but to abandon the village… and yet Fels said he would accept us at their base.
It was hard to believe, but after looking into Fels’s eyes and speaking with him directly, I felt I could trust him.
Fels gave us a day’s time, and we decided to discuss it among the villagers.
The discussion was heated, but in the end, everyone chose to trust my judgment.
Most of all, what mattered was when frenzied monsters attacked the village as a pack, and Fels and his group saved us—despite having no ties to us at all.
Of course, part of it was surely that we were terrified by the overwhelming strength Fels and the others displayed then.
For now, we decided to rely on Fels.
I pray that one day I can say this decision was not a mistake.
Lastly, Nanarji became frenzied today.
X Month X Day — Sunny
Tomorrow, we will abandon this village.
It is the village we have lived in for many years.
There is no way it doesn’t pain everyone.
And they must be anxious about what comes next.
As the chief, I want to dispel their anxiety… but though I can trust Fels, I still find myself wondering whether humans will truly accept us.
But we have no choice. We must steel ourselves.
Also, I was told by one of Fels’s subordinates who remained in the village that Fels is the king of the humans.
The next time I meet Fels, I will need to be careful about my attitude.
X Month X Day — Sunny
I will never forget today for the rest of my life.
No… was it last night…?
Last night, I became frenzied.
It happened while we were traveling from our village to Fels’s base.
All at once, I fell into an indescribable state—as though my whole body was being crushed, and yet also torn apart. From the impulse boiling up from inside me, I understood instantly: this was what it meant to become frenzied.
I had beheaded the frenzied countless times. Next was my turn… I thought so, and I resolved myself.
And yet here I am now, able to hold a pen.
Fels calmed the frenzy within me.
We had always told ourselves it was for their pride—that letting them die while they still had reason was for their sake—and so we had no choice but to kill those who became frenzied. But Fels gave us salvation.
And it wasn’t only that he saved me from frenzy.
In the moment I was being swallowed by it, the sight Fels showed me brought me peace.
If it was Fels, I could entrust the villagers to him. He would never treat them cruelly… If it was Fels, who truly worried for me, then the villagers’ future would surely become bright.
But what Fels brought us was even more than that…
So long as we remain under Fels’s protection, we will no longer have to fear the unreasonable fate called frenzy, which could come at any time.
No amount of gratitude is enough.
And it cannot be only me who feels that.
Kind, strong King Fels. From the bottom of my heart, I want to devote my loyalty to him.
However… being told by such a savior, “Speak to me casually,” is, to be honest, quite painful to my conscience.
Still, it is Fels’s request. I will answer it with everything I have.

It seems the villagers have grown quite accustomed to life in the castle town.
Under the guidance of Fels’s subordinates, we are currently working to build the castle town.
Since we use building materials that have already been processed, I think we are producing something quite good even as amateurs.
Those who were involved in construction back in the village, in particular, are amazed at the high level of Fels’s subordinates’ craftsmanship, and seem to be desperately trying to learn it.
At first I was shocked to be told that the houses we live in now are only temporary structures, but when I think calmly, Einheria Castle is so beautiful. Its castle town should likewise be worthy of it.
For now, people do not yet come from outside… but one day many will visit.
So that they will think it a splendid castle town that does not lose to the castle, I will pour my spirit into this construction.
X Month X Day — Sunny
Today, it seems there will be a war.
I have heard that when more than a thousand clash on a battlefield, anything can happen.
No matter how strong Fels and the others are individually, no one knows what may happen in war.
I wanted to march with them, but as a goblin, I would only be in the way, so I gave up.
Victory is surely certain with Fels and his companions, but I pray they return safely.
X Month X Day — Cloudy
Fels and the others returned without even a single stain—no injury, not even dirt.
They say they took almost the entire enemy army as prisoners.
I don’t really understand what that means.
X Month X Day — Rain
Fels gave me plant seeds.
He told me to try making fields and growing them, so I decided to entrust them to the one who managed the small fields back in the village.
As a joke, Fels said we could harvest in one month, so I told that person exactly that when I handed over the seeds—and he yelled at me to stop messing around.
X Month X Day — Cloudy
The ingredients we receive from Fels and the others are plentiful and unbelievably delicious, but the food served in the castle is on an entirely different level.
Familiar ingredients became dishes I had never seen. It was so astonishing that I wondered if inside the castle and outside it were actually different worlds.
And yet, Fels says he will teach us such cooking.
Surely there are many delicious foods beyond what we ate today. I’m greatly looking forward to it.
Also, Fels asked me to serve as an intermediary with other fairyfolk and goblins living in hiding.
I don’t know how useful I can be, but I will throw myself into it with everything I have. I want to repay Fels even a little.
Lastly… I was given seeds from which sheep grow.
For now, I gave them to the one I had put in charge of agriculture and told him that sheep were apparently going to grow, and he looked at me as though I were pitiable.
X Month X Day — Sunny
Today marks exactly one month since I was first given the seeds.
We harvested fine vegetables.
We harvested fine fruits.
Why did a fine tree grow in only one month?
I don’t understand.
Fels says that with this, we can harvest every month. Perhaps we will never struggle for food again.
For now, the one I had entrusted with agriculture apologized to me.
X Month X Day — Thunderstorm
Sheep grew.
X Month X Day — Sunny
I heard that a war on an incomparable scale to the last will occur.
This time, they say the enemy numbers in the tens of thousands.
But Fels is no different than usual.
No—if anything, he looks more at ease than during the last war.
Watching him makes me feel as though it will be no great matter… but going to a battlefield where ten thousand soldiers clash cannot possibly be nothing.
As king, Fels carries his subordinates’ lives on his back… There must be pressure beyond what a mere commoner like me can imagine.
Surely he is showing an even more “normal” face than usual so we do not notice.
It may be an unreasonable wish.
But if I may hope… so that the heart of that kind king does not break…
May they return without anyone dying.
X Month X Day — Cloudy
They returned without losing a single person.
From the bottom of my heart I was relieved… though I cannot deny it felt a little unreasonable.
I heard the enemy army was annihilated.
X Month X Day — Sunny
Today was a wonderful day where nothing happened.
