One of the key features that distinguishes humans from animals and monsters is the ability to create and use tools.
Of course, some monsters do crudely make and use tools for their livelihood. However, the scope is very limited and the level is quite poor.
In contrast, humans not only create and utilize various tools but also improve them to protect themselves and achieve victory in wars.
For humans, tools are the most basic effort to increase the probability of survival.
―Academy Dean Na Dae-gi.
I felt it the last time I Dove as well, but the smell of metal, leather, and herbs wafting from the workshop strangely puts my mind at ease.
Perhaps my true aptitude lies not in combat but in this kind of work.
That’s enough reflection. There’s too much to make.
If there’s any relief, it’s that I don’t have to worry about materials I can’t obtain.
After entering the Garden of Gods and meeting Ludicer, the recipe ingredients changed to those obtainable in the ‘Battlefield of the Gods.’
First, I lit the magic furnace and began the work.
Although Kyuri had equipped quite good tools, there could never be no shortcomings. So, I started making the tools necessary for precise work.
The workshop work that started with tool-making led to alchemy. It began with organizing tools like glass tubes and newly made pipettes, which were commonly seen in laboratories.
I opened the inventory and put the colorful, mysterious petals into a bowl.
After confirming that the device for automatically grinding and extracting petals was working properly, I made more of the cords I had previously prepared at the inn.
Then, I braided three cords together like a rope to create three thick ropes, each 10 meters long.
Just in time, the extraction of the purple liquid was completed, and I carefully applied it to the ropes with a brush.
While applying and drying it five times, other herbs were boiling or being extracted in the alchemy flask, and as time went by, I became even busier navigating the workshop.
Sometimes sewing, sometimes carving jewels, and then clearing the flask, the crafting, alchemy, and tailoring proceeded in perfect sequence like clockwork.
With Agility and Intellect over 100, I began moving by the second. Finally, the first piece was completed.
At first glance, it seemed like just three bundles of ropes with unusual colors.
You might think it’s ambiguous to call it a work of art. But if you look at the information, you’ll acknowledge it’s an incredible item. Especially here in Exorsus.
‘Verify.’
“Good.”
I packed the rope into the inventory and began cooling the nearly finished potions one by one.
Potions ranging from light purple to deep purple started to fill the 20ml small bottles densely.
“Nice.”
The Special Sanitas Potion and its description did not differ much. It was only presumed that there was a difference in the degree of treatment it could provide.
Since status ailments also had rank differences, various types were made to be used accordingly.
In fact, with the ingredients to make one bottle of Special Sanitas Potion, you could make 100 bottles of Lower Sanitas Potion.
Deciding to leave it at that for the first day, I left the workshop and went to the third-floor room to wash up briefly.
After washing, I contacted Lee Hyo-ju and Arun, ordering her to bring the trash to my room, and changed into comfortable clothes.
Not long after the call, Arun and Lee Hyo-ju entered the room, each carrying Unos and Katarina on their shoulders.
“Put the trash there and step aside now.”
As the two people stepped back, leaving the two tied individuals in the middle of my room, I took out the ‘Bondage of Love and Hate’ I had just made from the inventory and placed it on the floor.
At the same time, I channeled Force into my right index finger, lightly cutting my left thumb to draw blood from it, which I then smeared onto the two ropes. The ropes briefly glowed before the light faded.
This signified a successful recognition of the owner.
Throwing a rope towards each of the tied individuals, I said, “Bind.”
The ropes turned into snakes climbing up and down the bodies of the two tied individuals, binding them in a peculiar shape.
“Wh-why is it in this shape…?”
It resembled something out of a risqué video from an island nation.
However, despite the embarrassing and grotesque appearance, Unos and Katarina initially screamed, then alternated between laughing and moaning.
Arun, who had initially been startled and stepped back when the ropes began climbing up and down the bodies of the tied individuals, now looked back and forth between my face and the two tied individuals with increasingly bright eyes.
I appointed them as sub-owners and taught them the bind, stop, and release methods of the ropes on the spot, safely(?) completing the test.
Then, I had them clean up the mess and ended the day.
I spent a week holed up in the workshop.
While I was holed up inside, I instructed Lee Hyo-ju and Arun to train in gathering Divine Power in a direct array suited to each of them.
They also inquired about the registration certificate, but I advised them to think it over a bit more. They needed to know what abilities they required to inform them of the transcendent who could help them acquire those abilities.
Before the regression, I had investigated most of the transcendents and their specialties, or unique powers, to supplement the lacking power of the Rebound Legion.
It wasn’t something I did at the beginning when we entered the Battlefield of the Gods, but rather, right before we fought our last battle with Violentia’s legion.
Fortunately, I still remembered all of that.
Anyway, I told the two to think about what they needed before this event started, or at least consider what kind of fighter they wanted to become if they weren’t sure of the other stuff.
Instead of just sitting at a desk and pondering absentmindedly, I advised them to train and contemplate while channeling divine power.
For a week, both of them were fervently engaged in training, except for eating and sleeping.
As soon as I left the workshop after a week, the first thing I did was fill a bathtub with warm water, dissolve a ‘low-grade Sanitas potion’ in it, and indulge in the luxury of soaking in it.
Right after getting out of the bath, I called Arun and Lee Hyo-ju to the room and started placing items one by one on the antique wooden table.
Dozens of bottles of light purple and blue potions.
Sanitas potions from low-grade to intermediate-grade and high-grade potions.
A leather wristband with a gold-glowing pocket watch attached.
A silver rapier.
Red leather shoes and gloves, top and bottom.
A staff that shimmered in silver and gold depending on the direction of the light.
A set of teal robes.
Looking down proudly at the weapons that glowed softly under the room’s lighting, Lee Hyo-ju arrived first, followed shortly by Arun.
And the two of them simultaneously gaze at the equipment on the table, unable to move their feet. As if they’d met the eyes of Medusa.
“Sit down.”
“What? Oh, yes.”
“…Yes.”
First, I divided the potion exactly in half and handed it to them.
The two people looked at the purple and blue potions once, then looked at me.
“The purple one is a status ailment recovery potion, so…”
Before speaking, I gauged Lee Hyo-ju’s reaction.
“…I’m sorry to bring this up, but on the night you had a bad experience at the campsite due to Katarina’s crazy antics, didn’t you also think all the men were acting strange? Including Arun here?”
“…Yes.”
Though it was awkward to bring this up now that we’d decided to be allies, there was no choice.
This place was the Battlefield of the Gods, and such things could happen again at any time. So, I could only hope for her to overcome it.
“Yes, that’s when you’ll need this status ailment recovery potion. In this ‘Battlefield of the Gods,’ there are countless spells and curses. When those spells and curses are on our side, it’s reassuring, but when the enemy uses them, it’s truly maddening. If it were just a matter of strength against strength, there’d be a way, but it’s not. Use it in such situations.”
“Yes…”
“Yes!”
“This isn’t magic or a scroll. So it has to enter the body no matter what. If the situation isn’t severe, you can just have them drink it, but if it’s not…”
After a brief pause, the two swallowed and focused. Quickly, tell us!!
“Throw it at their face.”
“What?”
“…What?!”
“However, throw the potion bottle at the face so that it breaks. Not above the head, but at the face. If possible, aim for the forehead. This way, when the bottle breaks, they might inhale a little, right? Depending on the situation, that should be enough for them to regain consciousness briefly. The effect won’t last long, but in an urgent situation, do that to make them regain consciousness, then give them another status recovery potion.”
“Ah!”
“Ooh! As expected…!”
I hope Lee Hyo-ju realizes many things through this.
She’s already a woman without any emotions. A woman who probably won’t ever feel any emotions in the future either.
Even so, she’s a comrade who has vowed to survive the battlefield with the Legion. I just hope that such things don’t become a trauma for her.
Unlike me…
“And among the status recovery potions, there’s a slightly darker one. Yes, that one. With that, you can even treat the ‘Night of Frenzy’ that Arun experienced.”
“Ah…? Ah? Eeeeh?”
It was clear that Arun was solidifying his image as the comic relief. You can guess his emotional state just from his exclamations.
The atmosphere almost turned heavy, but thanks to Arun’s humor(?), Lee Hyo-ju shook her head and let out a sigh.
“If it’s as you say, isn’t it quite good?”
“Just keep it in mind for now. And these pieces of equipment.”
Both swallowed nervously.
“I made them with care. Let me explain each one.”
To explain a special item, there were about three.
‘Solaris Pocket Watch’ was an accessory not found in game items, purely self-created with a recipe devised through contemplation.
It was the equipment I pondered over the longest and felt most proud of.
Should I say it’s natural, or ironic, that the gift ‘Flow Perception’ given by Aetas through LeeHyo-ju greatly influenced the creation of the accessory.
‘Transporatio’ was a weapon modeled after the Answerer used by Lee Hyo-ju before regression.
Even if its attack power might be lower than that of an Answerer, it was crafted to better suit Lee Hyo-ju, who uses time stop, with a piercing rapier rather than a slashing sword.
A return magic circle would be engraved to allow it to be retrieved immediately after piercing.
‘Branch of the Divine Tree’ was, strictly speaking, close to an experimental piece.
The inventory was piled high with branches, all of which were branches of the World Tree.
So, thinking it was just using up one of many branches, it was crafted, but it turned out to be a [Super Unique+] grade weapon, surprising even its creator.
It was a weapon too precious to give to the foolish Arun.
