Early morning, the time when the sun hesitates to show itself.
At the sound of knocking on the heavy gate, Dantes, the elder guarding the main gate of the Fire Tower, could only open his eyes wide in surprise.
“Wh-What?!”
He had neither dozed off nor been distracted.
Their current master, Representative Kim Han, was the one who saved Dantes and his family from the punishment of the soul.
Even without a covenant contract, he intended to leave the magic tower and serve as his helper.
However, Kim Han did not stamp the slave seal, saying it would hinder his skill improvement.
Though it was a divine command to make a slave contract, he was considerate, fearing that the soul’s slave seal might interfere with magic development.
Thus, the slave contract was only made through the covenant contract, and guarding the house of such a benefactor, whom he could never repay in a lifetime, was never neglected.
He had spread mana around the area he guarded, near the main road, to prepare for any unforeseen situation, when suddenly two old men appeared beside the gate knocking.
“Who are you?”
“Ah? Ah! There’s someone here. Sorry. We’re old and our eyes are not great. We came to see our disciple.”
“Right. We came to see our disciple.”
“Di-disciple?”
“Yes, Kim Han.”
“Kim Han, Kim Han.”
Dantes, who had been staring blankly at the two old men, recalled the tower master’s words from the previous day’s global communication channel.
‘After this time, if two old men claiming to be the teachers arrive, politely guide them in.’
“Ah! I heard of you. You came early than we expected. Would you wait a moment? I will call someone to escort you.”
“Huh? Is that so?”
“Yes, yes.”
Dante infused a lot of mana into the communication crystal and quickly relayed the news—not on the duty channel but the global channel.
“The teachers the master mentioned have arrived. There are two of them and they need an escort.”
—Understood.
—I will come out too.
—Preparing breakfast.
Despite the early hour, the mages prepared to receive the guests in an orderly manner.
Soon after the communication, the heavy gate opened smoothly, and the elders of the Wind Tower and White Tower came out to greet them.
The two elders bowed politely and began to guide them.
As they entered through the open gate and moved toward the mansion, Talis showed the curiosity typical of mages, inspecting the garden and surroundings.
Sometimes exclaiming with curious admiration, “Hooh?!”, then quickly showing dissatisfaction with an “Eh!”.
He was delighted like a child upon seeing Depratio and Defuro, but clicked his tongue upon seeing Pobea nearby.
“Is my disciple asleep?”
“You! I said he’s my disciple!”
“No, he’s awake.”
Ignoring the sincere quarrel of the two old men, the elder of the Wind Tower answered at the right moment. The elder of the White Tower left to fetch Kim Han.
The two old men stood before the mansion door, refusing to enter and started arguing.
“As expected of my disciple, diligent as ever.”
“He’s diligent because he’s my disciple.”
Their bickering could be heard from the first-floor hall toward the door.
Whether intentional or some deep meaning between them, their sincere fighting made it hard to get used to.
“You’re here?”
As soon as the door opened, what greeted me more fiercely than the fresh morning air of the garden were the curses of Biosis and Talis.
I gestured to the Wind Tower elder, who was at a loss, to go ahead and greeted them.
“Ah! Disciple!”
“Disciple! Your masters have arrived!”
Clearly, there was intent. They didn’t just wait outside the door for no reason.
“Why did elderly people wait outside until I open the door? What if you catch a cold?”
“Eh!”
“See! I told you to just go in! What kind of guy is this?!”
Their displeasure was expressed in a way that was almost comical for their age.
“Please come in. Let’s eat first, then discuss your childishness.”
Still grumbling, they entered the mansion, repeatedly exclaiming “Hooh!”. Especially Talis positively evaluated the atmosphere inside the mansion, saying, “Not bad.”
All the tableware was already set, and when I told them to sit comfortably, they argued over the seat of honor but ended up sitting beside me.
No, it was a round table, so where was the seat of honor?
Starting with Lee Hyo-ju, one by one, others began descending to the dining room.
There was no problem until Mae Young-ryeong and Lee Hyo-ju politely greeted the two old men and took their seats.
But the atmosphere changed when Naruan and Hazel, the culprits of last night’s incident, came down.
Hazel stopped as soon as she entered the dining room and stared intently at the two old men beside me, as if silently pressuring them to get up from there.
Unfortunately, Hazel chose the wrong opponent.
Biosis, who was staring sullenly at Hazel, snapped his fingers with a displeased snort, and Hazel’s body crashed through the dining room door and flew alone.
“Hooh? Look at that?”
Talis exclaimed with interest watching Hazel fly, while Biosis showed continued displeasure.
Naruan, who came down next, glanced nervously at me with swollen eyes, then pointed at the old men beside me and shouted,
“Kim Han’s side is my seat! Move! And let’s fight!”
Just as Biosis was about to snap his fingers again with a displeased face, Lee Hyo-ju muttered something, and as Biosis’s fingers made a sharp sound, Lee Hyo-ju and Naruan’s forms moved far aside from the door.
Only Lee Hyo-ju stood normally; Naruan had fallen to the floor.
“Hooh?”
“…Tch. Are you of Aitas?”
Unlike Talis, who looked at Hazel and Lee Hyo-ju with interest, Biosis asked Lee Hyo-ju with a displeased face for dodging his attack.
“Hello, sir. I’m Lee Hyo-ju.”
I wanted to applaud Lee Hyo-ju’s clever response, introducing herself without answering directly.
“I asked if you’re of Aitas!”
“Why do you keep asking that, you senile old man! It’s obvious what she is! That movement isn’t spatial teleportation. There’s no flow of divine power. Except for mages, it’s either Aitas or Spatium. If it were Spatium, there would be traces of spatial rifts appearing and disappearing where the girl sat and appeared, but there weren’t right!”
Though it was a reprimand, the content was serious.
Just then, Talis pointed at Hazel, who had just been knocked away by the sneaky attack, and explained with a vein bulging in his neck.
“Like that kid who flew just now from your sneaky attack. Spatium’s style is to sever space before impact to minimize shock to the body!”
Though he explained minimizing shock, Hazel’s face, stained with blood right from the morning, was noticeably stiff and pale because Biosis was no ordinary transcendent.
“Mae Young-ryeong, heal.”
When I asked Mae Young-ryeong for treatment, she nodded and placed her hand on Hazel’s shoulder, and Hazel’s complexion improved significantly.
Naruan, who had fallen to the floor, still glanced at me nervously before sitting at the table, marking the start of what could have been a turbulent morning.
After finishing the meal and having tea and snacks, I briefly introduced the two old men to the group.
“I think you’re curious about the two who came early. Let me introduce briefly. They are tremendous people whom no one dares to request anything from even if they wish. Please show respect to them. Before the meal, the one who attacked you is Biosis, who is the best at boxing and weapon skills. Here, Talis is a mage who has reached an immeasurable level and a true battle mage. There is no one in the Battlefield of the Gods who dares to rival them, so learn a lot.”
“Wow! Really? Amazing.”
“Amazing, grandpas.”
Mae Young-ryeong and Lee Hyo-ju admired them, and the two old men were delighted like children.
“As expected… Let’s fight!!”
If not for Naruan’s words.
Biosis, who had been scrutinizing Naruan, turned his gaze to Talis but asked me a meaningful question.
“Hey, isn’t this place strange?”
“Strange? Old man, it’s obvious. The kid who just flew a tiny girl who wanted to fight is Aitas. The one who separated space to minimize shock when hit by you is Spatium. The girl who healed without uttering a word is Genesis, and the kid who’s desperate not to die is Mors.”
Accurate. He penetrated the attributes of each god. It seemed his claim of living over 20,000 years in the Battlefield of the Gods was not a lie.
“How did you become a mage with that brain? No brains? No thoughts? Should I ask what kind of women the four gods you mentioned are?”
“What kind of women…? That’s… Creator fangirls?”
“Pfft!! Hahaha.”
Talis burst out laughing at the accurate and scathing expression.
The others looked puzzled, but I understood the meaning and couldn’t stop laughing.
“Seems like our disciple too. Seeing you laugh. But they’re all gathered here, as if intentionally. But their leader is our disciple. But our disciple has a power no one has seen before. Isn’t that strange?”
“Strange.”
“Then why stay still!”
“Crazy. Leave it, they’ll tell us later. Even if you don’t know the Creator fangirls, if there are other god slaves, don’t talk carelessly. Are you confident you won’t make a mistake in front of them?”
“Tch… true. I might get frustrated teaching and blurt out something.”
“Right.”
Everyone except me couldn’t join the conversation between the two old men, which sounded like a foreign language despite being in their own tongue.
Only Lee Hyo-ju seemed to guess a little but didn’t know details and kept glancing at me.
“By the way, disciple, how will you train?”
“Right, training!”
To the questions from Biosis and Talis, I felt like I was hearing a foreign language. How? Since when? Not when?
“How? Not when?”
“Well… hmm. I guess representatives might not understand. Where is the training ground here?”
“The training ground is behind the mansion. Let’s go.”
Everyone except the two old men and Arun, who was outside, moved to the training ground behind.
Those coming to the training ground for the first time are sometimes surprised, but Biosis, who ignored the intricate formations, looked around and stood in the center, gesturing toward me.
“Disciple, if ten representatives with equal power and a transcendent fought to the death, who do you think would win? Assuming the transcendent loses the ‘immortality’ setting and fights under the same conditions as the representatives.”
“Huh? One against ten…”
Of course, the representatives would win, right? It’s one against ten.
It seems common sense, but asking such a question means it’s not common sense.
So I couldn’t answer easily.
“Hmph. You’re not a complete blockhead. Let me tell you clearly. You representatives always lose. Do you know why?”
“Honestly, I don’t know.”
Not only me, but Lee Hyo-ju, Hazel, Mae Young-ryeong, and even Naruan looked seriously troubled.
“You representatives have a fatal problem. Or rather, a trap.”
“A trap?”
“Yes. The registration card you brought us. Who do you think made it?”
“I understand that the registration card and ‘transmission’ system were created by the Creator gods.”
“Hmph! Nonsense! The system called ‘transmission’ was proposed to the Creator gods and granted to representatives participating in the Battlefield of the Gods by the two women you call crazy and slutty.”
“…What?!”
