“Black Wind Godly Demon? He killed who!?”

Sa Dohak’s expression was so twisted. The more he heard about what happened, the more he hoped that everything was a lie.

But Jang Sam-tae’s words came out clearly, and no matter how many times he heard it, they didn’t sound real either.

Just who is this Black Wind Godly Demon?

Just where did he come from?

Sa Dohak, unable to even think straight, sighed.

“It isn’t something to be that surprised about.”

Dan Woo-hyun spoke.

The way he was sighing didn’t seem like he was angry. His sharp gaze had changed to sorrow.

Namgung Chun went to his side and touched him on the shoulder.

Sa Dohak shook his hand off and frowned.

“You sure don’t expect me to be as down as you, right?”

“Uh? You weren’t?”

A sigh and laughter. Sa Dohak’s eyes were back to normal and he turned to Namgung Chun.

“That is how the Demonic Cult originally works. Bowing down before the strong is the most natural order. It was even expected since I wasn’t there.”

Sa Dohak scratched his head.

He had been away for too long, and he expected that there would be people who would take advantage of the situation. It was quite funny that it was someone other than the elders, as this was the power struggle which had been going on in the Demonic Cult for centuries.

The only sad thing was that Dong Bang-gu died because he didn’t switch loyalties.

‘What a foolish one.’

Sa Dohak snorted and got up, recalling the face of the most bizarre person in the Demonic Cult.

“I really don’t mind! I mean it!”

“I didn’t ask.”

“I am telling you so that you won’t question it again, you bastard!”

Bang!

Namgung Chun, who was watching the door close as he left, shook his head.

“Even so, he must have been quite shocked. A place he led for decades.”

“Of course.”

Dan Woo-hyun sipped the tea and drank it. Namgung Chun sighed and asked, seeing that he didn’t have the least bit of interest in the affairs of the Demonic Cult.

“Who is this Black Wind Godly Demon? Is that why you sent those guys?”

Namgung Chun looked at Jang Sam-tae and Ma Jang-kang and asked. The reason they traveled far was because Dan Woo-hyun probably knew something.

Jang Sam-tae and Ma Jang-kang also looked at Dan Woo-hyun.

Although they had heard the name too, they had no idea who it was. So their doubts didn’t go away.

Dan Woo-hyun opened his mouth to respond.

“They say that he is the one who founded the Demonic Cult.”

“The Demonic Cult was established thousands of years back. How can something like that happen?”

Namgung Chun yelled in surprise.

In the first place, wasn’t the Demonic Cult created by those who worshiped the power and followed Cheon Mu-kwang, one of the Three Heavens?

“It must be because you said so.”

Dan Woo-hyun smiled indifferently and stood up.

There must have been something in the truth that he declared with his own mouth that he was the Black Wind Godly Demon.

Dan Woo-hyun, who was looking out the window, noticed something. A huge white tiger with Dan Somi and Ho Yeon-ji is coming in.

“But that doesn’t mean it really is him.”

“What do you mean?”

He was filled with shock at those words. Namgung Chun frowned because he didn’t think he was asking a question to answer this question.

“Oh my, Somi…!”

At that time, Jang Sam-tae saw something and got up.

With swift movements he ran through the window and to Dan Somi, who was still unconscious.

However, eventually he stopped walking without knowing why exactly, probably because he noticed something.

“Tig… tiger?!”

Why? Why is there a tiger here?

He unconsciously felt intimidated at its huge size. The low roar of the White Tiger was saying he would die if he got closer, and this made Jang Sam-tae stop in his tracks.

“Wha… what? Put Somi down right now!”

He got ready to take the leap and pounce.

Even though he would die without being able to block the claws of the White Tiger, he had to get Somi out somehow.

“She’s fine. She just fainted in shock…”

Jang Sam-tae looked at Ho Yeon-ji.

The wounds were evident on her body. It was difficult for her to even open her eyes, and her breathing was rough.

She carefully got off Baekho’s back and hugged Dan Somi.

Jang Sam-tae stared at Ho Yeon-ji quietly and then asked,

“Wh-who are you?”

She was a woman he was seeing for the first time.

The only woman in this family was Namgung Sohye, but now another woman is here? And she was lean and clean.

He turned and asked Dan Woo-hyun.

“Is she your concubine?”

Slap!

“Ack!”

And a palm smacked him.

He fell backwards, feeling his head spin from the strong shock.

“What happened?”

Dan Woo-hyun asked, pushing Jang Sam-tae away, who was groaning.

But oddly, there was no anger on his face; he just looked at Ho yeon-ji.

“Ju… Jumun Won, we came across him.”

“Must be for revenge…”

The understanding of the situation was concluded with just a few words.

Dan Somi would have found the wounded Jumun Won and the child healed his injuries like she would for everyone and then he came across Ho Yeon-ji, and this happened.

Dan Woo-hyun looked at the two Spiritual Beasts.

“You did a good thing.”

Baek Myo meowed and let out a small cry. Perhaps Dan Woo-hyun’s praise made it feel good, so it climbed onto his shoulder.

Baekho growled lowly and glanced at Dan Woo-hyun and turned its head, disappearing off somewhere.

And when it climbed over the wall, it felt like it was going to hint.

Dan Woo-hyun smiled and took Dan Somi from Ho Yeon-ji.

“It looks like your earnest wish is granted from the luck of the child.”

“…Is that so?”

“Probably so, or maybe not. But in the end, it is still revenge.”

Ho Yeon-ji clenched her fists and nodded. The sensation which comes from stabbing Jumun Won in the heart lingered prominently in her fingertips.

At the time, she was so dazed that she couldn’t feel a thing, but now she could feel every little thing.

“It wouldn’t have been possible if he wasn’t hurt.”

Dan Woo-hyun looked at her, then turned his back.

While holding Dan Somi, he slowly walked to the room and said something odd.

“Maybe letting Jumun Won slip the first time happened for a purpose.”

Ho Yeon-ji tilted her head at Dan Woo-hyun’s words.

Dan Woo-hyun sat in Dan Somi’s room and looked at the child, who hadn’t yet opened her eyes. He straightened out her ruffled hair and touched her cheeks with a smile.

It was a look a father would give a child.

And it was more special because it was a side he didn’t show to anyone.

“If it is luck, then you are lucky.”

The child was blessed with the Heavens’ Luck. Therefore, it is true that she who had to die long before had lived this long. Children born with such luck naturally die before they can grow old.

When ten are born, all ten die. And he didn’t know for sure, but the reason why the village her parents lived in was annihilated and why she was struggling to die on streets.

But when Dan Woo-hyun met her, Dan Somi’s dead fate had come to life. To this child, the luck is Dan Woo-hyun.

With a sad smile, he tapped Dan Somi’s sleeping face with his finger. The child who was sleeping soundly, frowned.

“Heavenly Luck doesn’t always bring good things.”

Dan Woo-hyun smiled, thinking about the past. He knew very well that those things happened because of the luck and response of Dan Somi.

The world is always fair.

If there are good things, then there are bad things.

When that luck of hers works, a negative side is bound to occur too.

“Ugh…”

“Awake?”

“Dad?!”

Dan Somi got up in surprise. She looked around blankly, then looked at Dan Woo-hyun.

“Hehehe.”

She smiled.

A smile which came from feeling safe near this man.

Dan Woo-hyun reached out and patted her.

“Baek Myo… and Baekho?”

“They are playing around.”

“And unnie?”

“Is eating and sleeping well.”

“Uh?”

Dan Somi tilted her head. She remembered the mountain, the odd man she met, and then there was no memory or she’d forgotten everything after that.

And when she opened her eyes, she was back in her home.

Then was all this an illusion? She tilted her head.

“I went out…”

“You were sleeping.”

“Uh?”

Dan Somi quietly looked at Dan Woo-hyun’s face.

He looked at her like he was speaking the truth and touched her small cheeks. The warmth made her calm.

“You were sleeping and woke up late.”

“But I was…”

“Did you have a bad dream?”

Dan Somi groaned.

Could dreams be that vivid?

Dan Somi looked out the window with a confused expression like she couldn’t speak of it. But she knew it, as the sun was going down.

Dan Somi, who had been looking at the sunset, smiled. Her expression said that she knew something but she wouldn’t speak of it, wanting to forget the bad things.

“Yes! I had the oddest dream! Hehe.”

“Right. You will have to get a better dream next time.”

Dan Somi nodded at his words.

Before long, she was in his arms. His scent was so pleasant that she fell asleep again.

And he gently kissed the sleeping child on the forehead.

“Do not worry about anything.”

It is fine, come what may.

Dan Woo-hyun had the fortitude to overcome all that with his strength.

This was the first time he knew that his strength, which was no different from a curse, toyed with the world, and even incurred the wrath of the Eight Saints, was going to be useful.

He smiled and stroked her head.
