One day, in the remote Forlight Territory.

The aging Costas sat restlessly in a chair in his study.

His complexion was bad and he could not calm down.

He looked like he could not sit still.

Then Nefil entered the study.

“Master, today’s monster extermination is finished.”

“O-oh, I have been waiting for you, Nefil! C-come! Over here!”

Costas loosened the sash at his waist, a lewd smile twisting his wrinkled face.

But Nefil stood at attention with a businesslike attitude, showing none of her usual seductive air.

“Master, our contract period is about to end. I will be returning to the slave trader.”

“W-what!? W-wait! There are still monsters! I cannot imagine managing this domain without your strength!”

“But, a contract is a contract.”

Nefil curled her plump lips and gave a sly smile.

Costas could only bow his balding head.

“P-please… stay just a little longer.”

With slow, measured steps, Nefil approached Costas.

She wore a sultry smile, like a snake that had spotted a frog.

“Well then, Master, if you wish to extend the contract, please sign these papers as well.”

“Th-this is! A will!? It says you inherit my assets when I die! I—I cannot accept such a contract!”

“In that case, I shall simply return to the slave trader. Thank you for everything up until—”

Before Nefil could finish, Costas threw himself at her slender body.

“W-wait! If I sign those papers, you’ll stay by my side!?”

“Yes… I will remain by your side, all the way until you die.”

Nefil gave a voluptuous smile and kissed his withered cheek.

As she undressed him, she sat him down on the floor.

Then she straddled him and began to move her hips over him through her skirt.

“Now then, sign.”

“Guh! Nefil, you swear it!”

“But of course.”

Mawing hungrily at Nefil’s lean, well-trained body, Costas signed the documents.

Nefil hugged him, her smile trembling with delight.

“Ah, you are wonderful, Master!”

“Nefil, more, Nefil!”

Nefil moved more fiercely than ever before, giving him a deep, passionate kiss.

Their clear saliva entwined together.

Breathing heavily, Costas clung to her young body and sucked at her lips.

That night, Nefil pleasured Costas until dawn. Over and over again.

—And the next day.

That morning, a maid, suspicious that Costas was not waking up no matter how long she waited, went to the study.

Costas lay naked on the floor, dead.

The maid screamed.

“Eeeek! Master, Master is—!”

The maid ran down the corridor of the mansion.

By that time, Nefil had already left the estate.

Walking briskly along the highway, she wore a sensual smile.

“Hehe, men who cheat when they already have a wife are better off dead…”

Then she looked down at the bundle of documents in her hand.

She licked her red lips as she examined them.

“Hmmm. Only sixty million Gort? Lousy, for a noble… Still, that makes a hundred sixty-five million saved up. I can buy ten years of rejuvenation. Time to go to the slave trader—oh, I need to restock my medicine first.”

Smiling like a pure young girl, Nefil skipped off across the wasteland.

Some time after that, one morning.

While Marius was sleeping in his private cell, a guard suddenly opened the door.

Startled, Marius raised his head from the bed.

“…Ngh. What is it, this early in the morning?”

“The Forlight family has failed at managing their territory and gone bankrupt. There’s no one left to send you money. You’re moving to the big cell!”

“W-what?”

Ignoring the bewildered Marius, the guard grabbed his arm and marched him off to the communal cell.

It was a big room crammed with rough-looking men, shoulder to shoulder.

When Marius entered, they all stared at him with glittering eyes.

The guard spoke.

“Now that you’re broke, you don’t get special treatment anymore. …You lot, play nice.”

“““Okaaay.”””

The men answered in hearty, deep voices all together.

The iron bars slammed shut behind Marius.

Then a burly man spread his shirt open with both hands and approached.

“Marius-chaaaan. Your clothes are filthy. Want to borrow my pajamas?”

In the man’s hand was a large dress meant for a woman.

Marius scowled with his handsome face and shook him off.

“Stop it! Stay away from me! I am a chosen elite!”

But the men slowly tightened the circle as they surrounded him.

“Come on, let’s all be friends…”

“We’re all prisoners here, right?”

“It’s a long sentence, gotta have some fun.”

“Once you get used to it, it’s great.”

“You can use my ass, if you want.”

Rough, calloused hands grabbed hold of Marius.

Not just one hand, but more and more—two, three at a time.

He struggled desperately to shake them off, but these men had not spent all those years fighting monsters for nothing.

In terms of adventurer rank, there were A-ranks everywhere.

Marius’s beautiful face twisted with panic as he screamed.

“U—uwa… uwaaaa!”

“If you don’t feel someone else’s life, this Valley of Death will seriously kill you. You’re stuck here twenty years, yeah? C’mon, enjoy the naked forest fairy while you can.”

“Fgh…! Why, why is this happening to me… Hell, this is hell on earth—gwaaaah!”

The stench of sweat and the hot breath filling the big cell went on and on without end.

Marius wept tears of frustration as he continued to spit curses.

Meanwhile, in the Demon Realm.

The Demon King was touring a printing factory built into a cliff a short distance from the Demon King’s Castle, with Great Archmage Gobe in tow.

Monsters were working the rotary presses.

Watching them, the Demon King called out.

“Working hard, are you, my excellent subordinates!”

“““Yes, Your Majesty the Demon King!”””

“For now, we’re only invading on the cultural front, but one day we’ll launch a massive offensive on the surface world! This is all to raise funds for that! We’ve already made the world map! I’m counting on you!”

“““Yes! You truly are magnificent, Your Majesty the Demon King!”””

The monsters and demonfolk answered the Demon King with smiling faces, sweat shining on their brows.

Gobe, standing beside the Demon King, spoke.

“The great goal of world conquest will soon be fulfilled, Your Majesty the Demon King!”

“World conquest? That’s only for the sake of my subordinates’ livelihoods; I personally don’t care about it. To me, world conquest is merely a means to an end!”

“What!? World conquest is just a means!? I was sure Your Majesty’s ultimate goal was world conquest… May I ask, Your Majesty?”

“What is it? Say whatever you like.”

“What is Your Majesty the Demon King’s true objective?”

“To haul off and punch God in the face, obviously! That is my goal!”

“T-to slay God itself—that is Your Majesty’s aim! To take everything for yourself, truly fitting for the Demon King!”

“Sorry to disappoint you, but that’s not it either.”

“Eh?”

Gobe tilted his head in confusion.

The Demon King looked down at him, eyes flashing sharply.

“You were a goblin sorcerer, ranked D, if I recall.”

“Y-yes.”

Still bewildered, Gobe answered.

The Demon King looked out over the monsters working in the factory.

“That one over there is A-rank, that one’s C-rank.”

“That is correct, Your Majesty.”

“And you’re fine with that?”

“Eh… what do you mean?”

Puzzled, Gobe tilted his head, and the Demon King’s eyes blazed as he shouted.

“I’m asking if you don’t find that strange! You’re D-rank, and yet your knowledge and wisdom are among the very best in the Demon King’s army! I know how you’ve studied night and day, sacrificing sleep and piling effort upon effort! You’re the subordinate I trust most! And yet you’re still stuck at D-rank! The monster ranking only reflects combat strength!”

“T-that is true, but…”

“I cannot accept that! Monsters and magic beasts alike are born with talents in all sorts of fields! Some have a gift for art, some excel at calculation! And yet their ranks stay low! It’s as if we’re being ranked only so humans know how strong the monsters they’re supposed to defeat are! What is the meaning of our existence, then! —No, that’s exactly what it is! We were created by God as nothing more than enemies for people to defeat!”

“Y-Your Majesty the Demon King… what do you intend to do…?”

“That’s why I will defy him! I will raise my fist to the heavens! Until I knock out the God who made this damn ranking system, I won’t be satisfied!”

“C-can that truly be done… something that grand…?”

“It’s not a question of whether it can be done; we’re going to do it! I will absolutely clobber him! …And then I’ll rebuild the ranking system so that monsters are judged not only on fighting strength, but on their talents as well! One day, I’ll make a world where every monster who joins the Demon King’s army receives a fair evaluation! That is my goal as the Demon King who leads this army—no, my dream!”

The Demon King clenched his fist tight and shouted from the depths of his heart.

Tears streamed down Gobe’s face as he spoke.

“Y-Your Majesty the Demon King… I will follow you… I will follow you anywhere!”

“You truly are the greatest, Your Majesty!”

“You’re our Demon King!”

“I’m so glad I chose to follow you…!”

The monsters working there cried out through their tears.

The Demon King threw out his chest, baring his jagged teeth in a wide grin as he laughed.

“Fwahahahaha! I expect great things from you, my loyal vassals!”

“Uuuh… Long live the Demon King!”

“Banzai!”

“Glory to His Majesty the Demon King! Banzai!”

Their shouts in praise of the Demon King echoed on and on through the headquarters factory of Mao Mao Printing Company.

“One day left until His Majesty the Demon King does his crying dash.”
