“Th-this amazing thing… I made it…!?”
Monaka blinked rapidly, looking as if she couldn’t believe what she had done.
“It’s incredible, Monaka! You’re a once-in-a-decade genius too!”
“No, this is definitely thanks to Leo-kun-sensei! Sewing is my hobby, but this is the first time I’ve ever done this well!”
Fidgeting shyly, Monaka held the patch in both hands and offered it to me with a formal, earnest air.
“So… would you please accept this?”
“Huh—are you sure?”
“Y-yes! I originally made it intending to give it to Leo-kun-sensei… no, to Leo-kun!”
“Then I’ll gratefully accept it. This patch design is… if I remember right, it’s your family’s—”
“Yes, it’s a patch modeled after my family’s emblem. The heart symbolizes the heart itself, and offering it means offering one’s heart to that person as well… kyah!”
Monaka quickly covered her face with both hands.
I couldn’t see her expression, but the ears peeking out from her long hair were bright red.
‘…Why is it that every girl who talks to me ends up turning red at the end…?’
Well, whatever, I thought, and immediately tried sewing the patch I’d received onto the Flying Dragon Coat.
And then something even more ridiculous happened.
After appraising the coat with Monaka’s patch attached, I forgot to blink.
When you combined crafted items, the Quality Level usually stayed the same—or more often, went down.
At first, I had expected the coat’s level to drop if I attached the patch.
Since it was something Monaka had made with heartfelt care, I figured that would still be fine… but—
“No way… it broke past Level 100…!?”
The words slipped out of me.
The higher an item’s level, the higher its quality.
A Level 100 item wasn’t just beyond high schoolers—it surpassed professionals and reached the level of court artisans.
Breaking past Level 100 was a massive barrier; craftsmen shed blood and sweat for years trying to cross it.
“And yet I stepped right over it like it was nothing…!”
I stood there, stunned.
Meanwhile, Monaka bustled around me like a newlywed, fussing as she helped me put on the coat.
“Wah, Leo-kun, it suits you so well! You look incredibly cool!”
“Ah… yeah, thanks. This is thanks to you too, Monaka.”
“Ufufu, I’m the one who should be thanking you! Please teach me lots more from now on, Leo-kun-sensei!”
Monaka smiled back at me with innocent delight.
Beside her, Instructor Filaphy stood there with pleading eyes.
“U-um, Leopin-kuuun… I don’t think there’s anything I can teach you anymore… Would you choose my class again sometime…?”
The next class was the general-subject course: Physical Education.
Everyone changed into the gym clothes distributed at the end of the entrance ceremony, but I didn’t have any, so I participated in my coat.
All the girls were wearing bloomers.
Monaka and the other Saints, who normally wore robes, were unusually lightly dressed.
When I watched Monaka in a ponytail and bloomers, she noticed me and waved back with a bashful smile.
At that moment, my body began to glow.
“Leveling me up with pure eye candy… as expected of the future Great Saint.”
As I stared at the status window, I noticed something.
“The Jack-of-All-Trades skill list increased… and there’s a skill whose name I don’t even know…”
Thinking I might understand it by checking the details, I touched the string of question marks, and—
??????????
One of the hidden abilities of Jack-of-All-Trades
Its full nature will be revealed by activating its effect multiple times
“Could this be… a hidden skill…!?”
I’d heard about it before.
Job skills were basically shared across the board, but when leveling up, you could rarely obtain a skill whose effect was unknown.
They were all powerful, and once you learned how to use them, they became a reliable weapon.
“I thought that kind of thing had nothing to do with an unemployed guy like me…”
I wondered how I was supposed to activate it, but there was no point thinking about it now.
I figured I’d get hints as I went about my activities, so I shifted my interest to the newly added job.
The new job was a combat-type one.
Since I was about to move my body in PE, it was perfect timing—I decided to change jobs right away.
