“Gyaah!?”
“Fugyaah!?”
“Ugeeh!?”
The three brothers who fell from the tree smashed headfirst into the ground.
They were sprawled out in bizarre poses like crushed fruit, but instead of worrying about their own predicament, their minds were completely seized by what they had just witnessed.
“W-what was that just now…!? What even happened…!?”
“That trash lifted a boar, flew with it, and slammed it down…!?”
“T-this is bad!? This guy’s a monster!?”
“““R-run! Run for your liiiiiives!!?”””
With their necks still twisted at odd angles, the three brothers hopped away on all fours like rabbits.
I looked down at the Giant Boar as it dissolved into drop items and let out a breath.
“The Ninja skill… Izuna Throw. I tried it on a gamble, but somehow it worked out…”
Because it had been such a formidable opponent, the spoils were impressively rich.
“Meat, hide, and tusk! Everything I wanted, all at once!”
I felt like I’d discovered buried treasure.
I immediately began crafting with the materials I’d obtained.
First was the Giant Boar Hide.
The Flying Dragon Leather I’d gotten before had already been processed, but this one was still raw.
If left untreated, hide would rot, so it needed to be tanned.
I pulled out the Oruha Bag from my coat pocket—the one I’d made earlier to carry harvested items.
Using that bag, I scooped water from the pond and poured it into the crater where the boar had been.
Once a small pool formed, I submerged the Giant Boar Hide.
Then I stripped bark from a fallen tree nearby.
The bark was perfectly dried, and as soon as I soaked it in the small pool, the water turned brown.
“After soaking the hide in the extract from this bark, then drying it in the sun…”
While the leather dried on a tree branch, I moved on to the next task.
Sitting on a rock that made a decent chair, I shaped the Giant Boar Tusk using a Forest Stone Knife.
Only the steady scraping sound echoed by the pond, now returned to silence.
Before I knew it, animals had come back and were drinking water again.
The curved, sharp tusk was easy to work with.
It was already useful as-is, but it wasn’t finished yet.
Using the freshly made knife, I cut a small strip from the newly dried Giant Boar Leather.
Wrapping it around the handle…
“It’s done…! A brand-new knife…!”
The Forest Stone Knife had served me well, but this one surpassed it in sharpness, durability, and usability.
It would be a dependable companion from here on out.
Using the new knife, I continued crafting.
From the trees around the pond, I selected the hardest species and shaved off a small piece.
I carved the fragment further, sharpening its tip like a needle…
“Alright! A needle! Now I can do leatherworking!”
I lost track of time as I worked.
It had always been like this—when I was crafting, I often didn’t notice the sun had set until it already had.
Without caring what time it was, I threaded Daija Vine Thread through the freshly made wooden needle.
Just like in the academy class, I used the Leather Crafting skill and stitched together the Giant Boar Leather at full speed.
After about an hour, several leather containers lay before me.
“Alright! Now I can finally carry water home!”
I’d set out to find water, yet ended up having an unexpectedly enjoyable time.
When I looked up, the sun had dipped low, and the sky was painted in deep blue and orange.
I plunged the canteens into the pond and filled them with water.
The swollen, water-balloon-like canteens were shoved into my coat pockets.
Fetching water was normally hard labor, but with this magical coat, it was effortless.
After bidding farewell to the pond’s animals, I hurried home with a light, skipping step.
