Kaiston turned his back on Millen, who had begun to roll on the floor like a rutting dog. He intended to let Liris decide Millen’s fate from now on. She was the one who had been hurt after all.

As he left the room, Kamel, commander of the lord’s castle knights, waited for him.

“Your Grace. All those who infiltrated the castle have been dealt with.”

Kaiston nodded.

“Well done. Any casualties on our side?”

“Only minor injuries.”

Handing over the thin sword he had taken from Millen, Kaiston ordered, “Lock Millen up and have him brought to the banquet hall as well.”

“What? Your Grace… I…”

Kamel scratched the back of his head. Seeing that, Kaiston emphasized once more.

“It’s an order.”

At his resolute command, Kamel straightened quickly and answered.

“Yes! Your Grace.”

Only then did Kaiston nod with satisfaction and move on. He thought someone like Kamel in Sinal could do with finding a lover and getting married on his own. Why were they all so wooden? Still, things would inevitably change now; he’d push him along if he had to.

He stopped at the entrance to the secret room tightly concealed on the opposite side of the room he had come from, the place where Liris and Aaron should be, and checked his appearance once more. No creases, no ruffles. After confirming thoroughly and clearing his throat, he opened the door.

Since Kaiston had left the banquet hall with Millen, Liris had been restless. It wasn’t Millen she worried about. The pain she had received was that deep. What she hated was Kaiston’s anger. She hated that his normally calm heart had been thrown into turmoil because of her, even if she had brought it on herself.

It was a silly wish, but she wanted him to walk only on a path of flowers.

Liris chuckled. Kaiston and a path of flowers? They hardly fit together.

“Aaron. Can I make him happy?”

Aaron, who lay draped across her knees, lifted his head slightly and stared at her.

“Can Aaron see our fate?”

She hadn’t asked expecting an answer, but Liris was genuinely curious. The existence of a spiritual beast is often likened to a messenger of the gods. If Aaron were a divine messenger sent to Kaiston, would he know his fate?

“Will his end be happy?”

The mystical white tiger’s golden eyes reflected Liris’s pleading face. In Aaron’s gaze she felt she had seen something, like echoes of emotion, the faint remnants of a once-living ‘voice’ after a person’s destiny had closed its final chapter and parted from this world.

“Ah…”

Plip. Plop.

Cold drops wetting the back of her hand jolted Liris awake. Her mind was foggy. She couldn’t remember what she had been doing. Tears streamed down regardless; she couldn’t tell if she cried from joy or sorrow.

Liris hurriedly wiped her tears away. Somehow it felt necessary. Aaron lay on her knees with a bored expression. She thought she must have dozed and dreamt for a moment.

Looking down at the banquet hall again, she saw people like flowers dancing merrily to the music in the ripe atmosphere. A lovely young miss in a beautiful dress smiled shyly as she looked at the hand she held. The young man leading that lady had an equally bright, untroubled face.

Liris let out a small sigh. What am I doing here? But her boredom didn’t last long.

“Liris.”

Kaiston entered her narrow, private space.

“My lord!”

Seeing Liris greet him with unusually delighted expression, Kaiston knelt down on one knee before her.

“It must’ve been stifling. You held up well. Thank you too, Aaron.”

Aaron rose from Liris’s knees, stretched, leapt onto her shoulder, and disappeared in an instant. Liris, dazed as she chased the spiritual beast’s afterimage, turned her gaze back to Kaiston.

“I endured well, so give me my reward.”

“Hmm.”

Kaiston closed the distance as Liris reached out to him with a bright smile. He cupped her small cheek and kissed her. Sweetness spread through her body.

“Liris…”

Liris’s loveliness erased the cruel, ruthless version of himself from moments ago. Wanting to drown in it a little longer, Kaiston captured her lips again, tasting and savoring her petal-scented mouth with his tongue.

A low murmur—a little more, a little more, I need you—prompted Liris to whisper seductively.

“What are you hesitating for?”

“If you need it, take it.” Her words made Kaiston hesitate. He had to take her out and present her soon. Her splendid pale-purple dress, barely creased from sitting demurely in this small space, drew his eyes.

“I don’t know if it’s appropriate.”

“Then just touch me properly again.”

He truly seemed unskilled at delicate matters, but Liris spoke so because his gaze was so earnest. Kaiston, hesitating a little over what to do, sighed softly. There was no way he’d refuse.

His heart, which had started racing the moment he took her in, longed to reach her as soon as possible.

“Very well. Then.”

Kaiston’s hand gripped her slender ankle. Liris held her breath as his touch traveled up her spotless white stocking. He ran his hand inside the garter belt that held the stocking; a peculiar sensation spread through her body.

“Isn’t this uncomfortable?”

If she admitted discomfort, he might throw away this garment as he’d done the corset, and ban her from wearing it again; Liris couldn’t bring herself to answer honestly.

“You have to endure a bit to look pretty.”

“Who’s it for? Who else is going to see under your skirt besides me?”

Liris giggled.

“Exactly for that one person. Not good enough?”

His touch inside her thigh made her white lace underwear dampen.

“I don’t want to pounce like a beast in rut.”

Kaiston groaned, “Ugh.”

“Is it that arousing?”

“I’m barely holding on to my reason.”

Liris burst into laughter.

“Let go, quickly.”

Kaiston frowned.

“What?”

“Your reason.”

“That’s a dangerous thing to say.”

“It’s a reward, you said. I held back with great difficulty, you know?”

Liris wrapped her arms around his neck.

“I need you too.”

“Liris. Ha… damn.”

She’d thought losing reason was a joke. Liris’s eyes widened as she watched the violet of his gaze cloud over abruptly. Though they’d lain together countless times, she’d never seen his look change so drastically that her heart dropped.

He undid the knot at the back of Liris’s dress, peeled it down, and hungrily took her exposed breast into his mouth. He teased the sensitive peak with his tongue, his persistent handling tilting her head back.

“Ugh… ah…”

Seeing her body heat rapidly, his touch grew more impatient. The hand that had rested on her thigh cupped the small mound beneath her underwear. He casually tore through the already soaked garment, rendering it useless, then tossed it aside as if annoyed.

Fingers plunged in and stirred her hot, wet depths as if confirming them. Each probing brought out her juices and wetted his hand. The cling of her flesh made his head swim; desire flared like fire and swallowed his reason.

He lifted her right leg. Liris’s eyes widened like oil-lamp flames. His member touched her entrance. He rubbed gently between her petals to position himself, then began to push in slowly.

“Hrk…!”

A moan escaped. It somehow felt much heavier than usual. He drilled in relentlessly, not sparing her at all. She even got afraid for a moment.

“Ha, Liris.”

Ownership bled clearly from his voice. It was thrilling to the point of chilling.

As he’d warned, he violated her with brutal, beast-like force. Given his size, even gentle movement would have stifled her, yet he repeatedly drew back nearly to the entrance and slammed in at such speed she couldn’t regain her senses.

Unable to make a proper moan, Liris sobbed more than she cried. Her vision swung between black and white.

The banquet hall seen through the glass below remained utterly peaceful. The contrast made her current state—a mess, gasping from overflowing pleasure—feel all the more unreal.

With no room to be pushed back, he drove into her without pause. Her body trembled violently from an orgasm that came in an instant, but he paid it no mind. The over-sensitized spot convulsed again under the relentless stimulation.

She thought he’d relent once it tightened that much inside, but not at all. Instead, he seemed intent on stretching her narrowed inner walls even further—a terrifying thought.

Perhaps displeased that she kept trying to pull away, he picked her up and trapped her between the glass and his body. His weight made his penetration deeper. The coolness of the glass against her skin only made their joining feel hotter.

“Aah…!”

Liris clung desperately to his neck. His violet eyes, consumed by heat, revealed his greed without filter as they fixed on her.

“Liris.”

His low, rough voice buzzed in her ear. He supported her hips with his hands and drove in so deep she gasped. What had come before was mere prelude. He sought out and prodded the pleasure point buried deep within her. Another climax hit; even as she arched her head back and trembled, he refused to stop. It had become painful. She was so breathless she could barely breathe.

“Hrk… my lord…”

In the end, Liris broke into tears, convinced she might die.

Liris rolled her eyes, wondering what to do as she watched Kaiston’s apologetic, almost dying-with-remorse expression through the mirror. After all, she was the one who had asked; she had no right to be angry. She just hadn’t imagined he’d lose his reason so completely to take her.

‘He’s human too. Surely there are limits.’

The fact that she nearly crossed from the pinnacle of pleasure to the brink of death was a problem.

Liris changed into a new dress and finished dressing, then spun around.

“Am I pretty?”

Kaiston nodded.

“Then why are you standing so far away?”

“……”

Kaiston sank into serious self-reproach.

‘Only a madman would not be…’

He thought that and sighed again. Yes, he had to admit he’d been mad. But even madness should have its bounds.
