Chapter 33

“Are you guys trying to destroy this entire country?!”

Once everything was over, Dowal gave me a piece of his mind.

I mean, sure, we went a bit wild right in the middle of the nation, but it was an authorized test, wasn’t it?

“It’s fine, isn’t it? Thanks to that, we know exactly what it’s capable of.”

“Even so, there’s such a thing as restraint!!”

Well, I suppose it’s only natural for a national leader to put the safety of the country and its people first.

“So, Sir Ryu, what do you plan to do from here on out?”

Dolf asked, looking somewhat anxious.

“What do I plan to do…? Well, I guess I’ll just go on a journey with no particular destination.”

I only came to this country to get my equipment sorted, so I had nothing scheduled next.

“In that case, staying in this country for a bit longer might—”

“Stop it, Dolf. It’s for Ryu to decide.”

I didn’t quite catch why, but Dowal cut him off.

Is Dolf feeling lonely? It’s not like we’re saying goodbye forever, so he’s being a bit dramatic.

“For now, I’ll stay for two or three days and then head back home once. After that, I’ll probably head out on another journey.”

That was about as much as I could think of off the top of my head.

“I understand.”

Don’t look so disappointed, Dolf.

“By the way, what will you do about the name of that Wakizashi?”

“Eh? It doesn’t have a name?”

“I didn’t give it one because I figured you would be the one to decide.”

Well, if I’m the one naming it, what should I go with? Since this is so sudden, I can only think of something simple.

“In that case, let’s go with ‘Rou’ (Wolf).”

“…Simple as always.”

If you’re so unsatisfied, you should have named it yourself from the start, Dowal.

And then, on the morning three days later.

We decided to return to the Great Forest for a visit.

I intended to report that the clothes and the fang had been processed before heading back out on a journey.

Dowal, Dolf, Mark, and the others were there to see us off.

“Thank you all for everything. I’ll make sure to take good care of Rou and the clothes.”

“Yeah. Come back anytime for maintenance. Knowing you, Ryu, you’re bound to use them recklessly.”

“The leather armor as well. Please make sure to bring it back in properly.”

Yeah, yeah, I’ll bring them.

“Ryu, thank you for everything.”

“Did I do something for you, Mark?”

“You sold me all sorts of wholesale goods!”

Ah, that.

I certainly did unload a lot of stock on him; apparently, he made a pretty decent profit because of it.

“Well then, I’ll see you all again sometime!”

And so, I departed from Fall Crown.
