Slash, slash, split, slash, slash.

He smashed apart and cut down the kobolds attacking him.

He attacked every last kobold that stuck its body out of a hole to fire arrows at him.

Only after no more reinforcements came did Kikori begin pulling the arrows out of his body.

It was fine to be a little rough. He still had potions left.

“They gave up… earlier than I expected…”

Staggering as he walked, he opened a potion bottle and drank it.

The high-quality potion healed Kikori’s wounds, and he could feel them closing.

But that certainly did not mean the blood he had lost returned.

It did not restore his stamina, either.

Nor did it restore his spirit.

That was why Kikori’s face was somewhat pale.

“What should I do? Go back? No, I can still go on. At this level, I can still…”

At least one more step ahead.

Thinking that, Kikori walked.

Then with a crash, the ground before his eyes shattered and a giant figure appeared.

Its size was around two meters. Compared to Kikori, it was far more of a giant.

“A higher species of kobold… right, a Hob Kobold…”

In terms of combat ability, it was above a Hobgoblin. It was intelligent and properly understood tactics.

And for it to appear here meant—

“Gooooooooooooooooooo!”

“I see. You think I’m weakened.”

Launch wave attacks, then commit a major force once the target had weakened.

Yes, that certainly was a tactic.

Did the greatsword in its hand also show its confidence that it could definitely cut down Kikori?

But still, yes, even so.

“You’re wrong.”

Kikori dodged the greatsword that was swung down at him.

Slow, he thought. There had been many attacks much sharper than this.

No matter how talentless Kikori might be, against an attack of this level—

“…Charge.”

One of the mana stones in Kikori’s armor lost its glow.

“Mjolnir.”

Kikori’s Magic Axe became wrapped in lightning.

The thrown axe shattered the Hob Kobold’s greatsword, which it had hurriedly raised as a shield, and then sent electricity coursing through its whole body.

“Gigaaah…!?”

The Hob Kobold dropped to one knee and saw it.

The Magic Axe returning.

And Kikori running, as if he could not even wait for that, to catch the Magic Axe.

And then Kikori raised the Magic Axe toward him.

“Die.”

Thud. The cheap helmet the Hob Kobold wore caved in, crushing its skull inward.

To the fallen Hob Kobold, Kikori brought down the Magic Axe again without lowering his guard, and finished it off.

After that, the kobolds no longer came to attack.

When Kikori pulled the mana stone from that corpse, he swayed as he stood back up.

Surely, they would not attack anymore now.

But that was only wishful thinking.

He could not spend the night here after all, Kikori thought, as he walked through the nighttime grassland… and passed through the spatial distortion ahead.
