Led on by Orphe, Kikori ran through the burning forest.

The Flame Wyverns kept breathing fire and burning the forest, as though they intended to burn everything.

The fairies were flying through the sky and firing magic too, but perhaps the Flame Wyverns were better at aerial combat, because they kept dodging it.

…and the fairies were falling from the flames being unleashed.

“Damn it, this is completely one-sided! Why!?”

“They practically live to fly through the sky, that’s why!”

“I don’t get it, but I get it!”

“Good enough!”

Even if he threw his axes with Mjolnir, it would not work if they were too far away.

That was why Kikori ran.

When they spotted a wyvern, Orphe pointed at the Flame Wyvern above them.

“Ice Arrow!”

What came into being were five arrows of ice.

They shot toward the wyvern at tremendous speed, but the Flame Wyvern evaded them with speed and maneuverability that surpassed even that.

“Ah, damn it!”

“Orphe!”

Whoosh. Kikori pulled Orphe away from the flames blowing down at the ground and dodged.

“Orphe, I’m going in too next time! Let’s coordinate!”

“You’ve got a plan, right!?”

“It’s more like I hope it works!”

“Good enough! What’s the signal!?”

“As soon as I use magic!”

“Okay!”

If they stopped moving, they would be burned.

That was why Kikori and Orphe kept moving around as they shouted.

Kikori chanted the spell that had completely become his signature move.

“Mjolnir!”

Boom!

The biggest surge of lightning yet dwelled within the axe.

Whether that was the power of the axe or Kikori’s growth was unclear, but at this moment, it was reliable.

“Ice Arrow!”

The five arrows of ice that were fired were once again avoided by the Flame Wyvern with its absurd maneuvering.

But then an axe wreathed in lightning tore through its wing.

And at that instant, the lightning transmitted from the axe struck the Flame Wyvern.

“An opening! Ice Arrow!”

And this time, the Flame Wyvern was pierced through by all five arrows.

Screaming, the Flame Wyvern fell.

Orphe thrust her fist into the air with a “Yes!”

“Not bad! What was the logic behind that!?”

“I tried throwing the axe where it looked like it would dodge to. I figured if it was focused on the Ice Arrows, it might crash into it on its own.”

“Huh?”

“With that crazy maneuvering, it didn’t look like it could change course even more from there, right? So I thought it might work.”

Orphe stared hard at Kikori, but… before long, she muttered, “Ah, right. This guy was an idiot…”

“H-Hey, what’s that supposed to mean!?”

“What difference does it make if five becomes six, idiot! But it worked, so fine! We’re going after the next one!”

“H-Huuuh…?”
