“Heal!”
Orphe’s Heal wrapped around Kikori, and Kikori burst forward in an instant.
He was going to kill it. Pouring that intent into himself, he tried to shout—
The yeti before his eyes kicked up the snow at its feet with all its might.
“Ugh!?”
A blinding attack. Even knowing that, Kikori had no means of stopping it.
So he charged ahead anyway, not caring.
He knew it was there. And so Kikori plunged straight into the snow assaulting him.
Thud. Something hard slammed into his armor and blew him away.
The impact was like being hit by artillery fire.
There was no need to wonder what it was.
There stood the yeti, compressing snow in its hands into a “shell.”
“Mjolnir!”
If he could not get close, then he would attack from long range. Making that decision, Kikori’s axe crackled with lightning and was immediately thrown.
But… the yeti casually dodged the thrown axe and hurled a ball of ice at Kikori.
The axe that had failed to hit retained the power of lightning and returned to Kikori’s hand… but Kikori clicked his tongue lightly.
(It’s strong…! What do I do!?)
He could not get close. The Mjolnir axe could be dodged.
The axe he threw a second time was also dodged, and the mana infused into Mjolnir dispersed.
Even if he used Mjolnir a second time like this, the result would probably be the same.
Which meant he had no choice but to force a hit somehow.
But… the yeti’s ice balls hammering against his armor were powerful.
There was no way he could keep moving forward under this.
“Flame Sphere.”
“Gi?”
“Ah.”
She must have moved while Kikori was being attacked.
Above the yeti was Orphe, holding up a gigantic fireball.
At the sight of that fireball, so massive it looked capable of swallowing even the yeti’s huge body, the yeti let out a frightened, “Hih.”
“Burn to death, loser.”
“GIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
The moment the fireball Orphe hurled struck the yeti, she withdrew and returned to Kikori’s side.
“Oh, and Fire Arrow. One more Fire Arrow.”
Boom, boom. The fire arrows slammed mercilessly into the yeti, and as it rampaged while burning fiercely, they completely halted its movements.
“Well, that’s about how it goes.”
Orphe looked triumphantly at the charred yeti corpse, black smoke rising from it in wisps.
In truth, it was a complete victory. She had every right to be triumphant.
“That axe is pretty slow, isn’t it? If you don’t come up with some countermeasure, won’t things get rough for you later?”
“…Yeah.”
Improving Mjolnir.
It should not be impossible. He was already able to apply it in different ways.
He ought to be able to increase its throwing speed too.
He ought to… but as for how, specifically…
“I guess I’ll just have to try all kinds of things.”
“Well, do your best. I’ll at least cheer for you.”
