This was strange.
The Great Wyvern thought of Kikori, whom it had just sent flying into the sky with tornado magic.
His armor had shattered. And yet, his body had not shattered.
Strange, strange.
Why had the flesh softer than armor not yet been reduced to dust, nor bloomed a flower of blood?
Within the tornado of mana, Kikori opened his eyes.
Then Kikori realized that the events in “that space” had taken less than a single second… no, had taken zero seconds.
But he understood.
He understood that he had changed.
He understood what he could do.
Just as a fish could swim through water without being taught.
No… just as a person could breathe without anyone teaching them.
Kikori understood what he was capable of. He grasped his current situation.
His armor and helmet had shattered, and he had no axes. He had nothing.
(…But I don’t need them. Not those axes, and not that armor.)
He had already adapted to this tornado. So. Now, let’s do this.
“…Impossible.”
Ahead of the Great Wyvern’s gaze.
The tornado of mana vanished.
As if it had been erased by something.
The truth, of course, was different. It had been absorbed.
The power that Kikori, as a dragon, had relied on before becoming one… mana absorption and charging.
That power was now within Kikori himself.
And the armor, helmet, and axes the fairies had made for Kikori while imagining a dragon.
They were not there now.
And yet, what covered Kikori’s body was unmistakably that armor and helmet. In his hands were those axes.
There was no longer any need to charge through the armor.
There was not even any need to call it charging.
“A-Aaah…”
Even the surrounding mana was absorbed, and the atmosphere warped.
As Kikori fell, he chanted those words.
“Mjolnir.”
The “dragon,” clad in lightning of power incomparable to before.
From even higher above the Great Wyvern, he fell like a thunderbolt.
It would die. If it took that, it would die.
That instinct moved the Great Wyvern.
“G-Giaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!?”
Even so, it could not fully dodge, and its wing was pierced and burned by lightning.
If it had been a bird, that would likely have been fatal.
However, wyverns did not fly by means of their wings.
That was why the Great Wyvern still soared through the sky despite that.
Kikori looked up at the Great Wyvern from the ground.
“W-What…! What are you!?”
The Great Wyvern shouted in terror.
Strange, strange.
What had happened in that single instant?
Until moments ago, this thing should have been nothing more than an insect waiting to be hunted.
Why? Why was this happening?
“A dragon.”
“…Huh?”
“I’m Kikori the Dragonewt. A rookie dragon… Nice to meet you. And goodbye.”
