“Ga…?”

The Big Goblin looked bewildered, but it still swung its cleaver-sword at Kikori.

If prey that had been running away the whole time suddenly charged in, it would react like that.

But that was fine.

Arms like logs that sent Kikori and Kuon flying.

A gigantic body even bigger than a Hobgoblin’s—so huge you had to crane your neck to look up at it.

That was exactly why Kikori ran up its fully extended arm.

“GAAAH!?”

Naturally, the arm was swung with full force, and Kikori was flung upward as if he’d been thrown.

That was fine.

That was the only way to get close.

Seeing Kikori get tossed and sail up into the air, the Big Goblin laughed.

As if it were saying, Idiot.

“The idiot was you.”

Even though he knew it wouldn’t understand, Kikori muttered it.

With that, the last preparations for the gamble were in place.

Just one more move. He wanted one more, but…

As he fell, Kikori almost started laughing.

Kuon’s figure slipping behind it, taking advantage of the moment the Big Goblin’s attention completely left him.

Swinging the iron staff, what Kuon aimed for was—

“BUGEAAAH!?”

The Big Goblin’s crotch was punched through.

Its legs snapped shut and Kuon’s iron staff got caught, but… yeah, there was no way it was “harder than iron” down there.

There was only one reason Kikori hadn’t aimed there. One was that if he got pinched like the staff did, it felt like his own legs would get crushed.

And the other reason—

Because that wasn’t the real target.

As he fell, Kikori wrapped himself around the Big Goblin’s neck.

He touched the top of its head with one hand… and Kikori shouted.

“Break!”

On the surface, nothing happened.

The Big Goblin shuddered violently… dropped to its knees, and collapsed.

Kikori was thrown off too and rolled along the ground… and Kuon came running up.

“We did it, Kikori!”

“Yeah… by the way, when did you notice?”

“Mm, I wasn’t unconscious. I couldn’t move, though.”

Kuon laughed and said, “Sorryyy,” and Kikori answered, “It’s fine.”

He’d taken a solid hit to the back. Honestly, it would’ve been stranger if Kuon could move.

“But, Kikori.”

“Hm?”

“Break—that’s that spell, right? Why the head?”

“Well, why…”

To the eye, the Big Goblin didn’t look damaged at all.

Thinking about what would’ve happened if he’d attacked another body part made a chill run through him.

But that was exactly why he could say aiming right was the correct call…

As he organized the thought in his head, Kikori answered Kuon.

“There’s no creature alive that can take damage inside its head and be fine.”
