While Kikori was checking his axe, Kuon also bought a steel magic item staff with a mana stone set into it.

“Ah, so you bought one too, Kuon.”

“Yeah. I need some attack power too. That fight really drove it home.”

“You two shouldn’t be ‘driving it home’ only when you’re at death’s door, you know?”

“Ugh.”

“Uuu…”

With Aria saying that, neither Kikori nor Kuon could offer any rebuttal.

She was right—if they hadn’t managed to deal with the Big Goblin there, neither of them would be casually picking out new weapons here.

Getting good weapons and armor was basically an obligation.

“Ah, right. I need to do something about my armor too…”

“Make it a magic item?”

“That’s way out of my budget…”

“Then let’s go to Mirgu Weapon Shop for now.”

After talking it over like that, Kikori and Kuon called out to Aria.

“Alright, Aria-san, we’re heading out.”

“Okaaay, have fun. I’ll be heading home a bit later too, so you can wait at my place.”

“Got it.”

They went up the stairs and left the Guild.

Kikori had just started thinking, Come to think of it, I haven’t eaten anything today besides breakfast… when he felt Kuon’s gaze and turned around.

“…I’m feeling a really unpleasant stare. Can I just ignore you?”

“Kikori, you have a spare key to Aria-san’s place.”

“I’ll leave it behind, you know?”

“Ah, wait! Come on, what’s wrong with a little love talk!?”

“Yours feels like a different kind of thing, Kuon!”

“It’s the same, it’s the same!”

Kuon chased after Kikori as he strode along.

And like that, the two of them reached the front of Mirgu Weapon Shop at the pace of a sprint race.

“Man—aren’t we partners? You could tell me! I wanna have a fun chat with my partner!”

“Absolutely not. And what about you, Kuon?”

“Me? I don’t really have anything like that yet. If I don’t build up a bit more of a track record, I’m not going to be popular.”

“Is that how it is…?”

“That’s how it is. That’s why you surprised me, Kikori. How did it start?”

“I won’t talk just because you try to steer the flow naturally.”

“Tch.”

He’s still not giving up, Kikori narrowed his eyes, but Kuon didn’t care at all.

“…Don’t go having your coming-of-age drama in front of the shop. Get inside already, brats.”

“But Kikori won’t do the coming-of-age part for me.”

“That one’s not coming-of-age. He’s just been captured. Now, get in already.”

“Huh, seriously!?”

“Mirgu-san… that’s customer information…”

“Yeah, yeah. I’ll throw in a bonus. Now get inside.”

Getting dragged along, Kikori and Kuon headed into Mirgu Weapon Shop.
