WHATS UPPPPPP

Thank you for being here for all these years and supporting this series all till the end!

Jokes aside, thank you for reading this short story or miniseries that I wrote a few months ago. Despite its short size it did take me a while to write this.

I'm, ehhh...-- Opportepot and I also go by Thh. Maybe you've seen me around, probably not, because so far I've only been reading one webnovel here although I hope to read more. I haven't read that much i.a. because I read at an average speed or slower, plus I read an average of like 6 chapters a day, so I just don't appear in a lot of places here. I do hope that I'm making more progress with reading, though.

So I'm happy to answer questions if you ask me them. I'd first like to answer some in advance.

"Who is Opportepot/Thh": just a dude.

"How did you think of Kitchen Hunt?": two things.

First, I thought one day why don't I just go to those random sites with random generators and generate a few random story titles? The challenge to myself was to write a story from a generated title, so if the title was 'monkey go ape' then I'd have to write a story about that. So I got 5 titles and Kitchen Hunt was the one I thought the least that I would put that into a creation. Turns out it was the only one (so far) that DID become a story.

Secondly, I don't remember how I exactly got to the concept, but uhm... you could say this story is sort of a fan-fic about an irl friend of mine, lol. So the thing is that I happen to know someone irl who went from dishwasher to cook, and my friend was a dishwasher at the time when I wrote this (and now he also cooks in that same restaurant I think, ironically). Sooner or later, before I knew it, it combined with 'Kitchen Hunt', so then I thought 'alright, brain, since this is the kind of shit that you always keep coming up with, how about I entertain it this time?' So yeah, the story is about my friend whose name is technically 'Zane' and he uhh experiences an adventure that he also experienced irl ofc ofc ofc ofc....

"... why specifically a chaffinch?":

Because in one of my other stories one of the main characters is the 'Chaffinch of the Pink Smoulder' and the story basically revolves around him. I was still writing it when I decided to put it on hiatus and finish this first--oh, but that story is also finished and who knows soon I might publish it to this website.

"So you consider putting more content on this website?":

It depends.

First, the original and independent publishing program on this website is still new and the guidelines may change. For now Kitchen Hunt doesn't violate them, but I understand and respect it if this site takes measurements against stories that are too short or have an ugly ahh cover or don't necessarily give you a webnovel 'vibe' like this one that just reads and feels like an unspecific story.

Secondly, Kitchen Hunt for example is an experimental story that I wrote to hone my writing skills. Other than that I have enough other ideas and projects, whereof at least two have the potential to become long and don't have a strict progression model so that I can always change the direction of the story while I write. Then there are at least two other stories that could become big, but originally the idea was to minimise that so that I could also write other stuff. I have so many ideas, and I know most writers have more ideas than they can write and publish succesfully, but I need to write a few short projects first to hone my skills anyway.

"Now that you mention it, what's up with that cover?":

I made it myself. I, uhm, am not rich enough to throw my cents at a graphic designer for a story that I first of all don't plan to commercialise and secondly I'm not confident that it would be a proper investment at the moment in case I'll write more.

Oh, and now that I mention it, I don't have the capacity to put in that much time into writing, so don't expect something like daily chapters.

"You said something about 'the Chaffinch of the Pink Smoulder'. If anything, why not post that story after this one?":

Good idea. The abbreviation is 'TSC' (don't worry about the weird name, it actually makes a lot of sense - edit: I abbreviated it because my story is already online on another platform so people might google it by the name...), a nobledark swords & sorcery, and it is already finished. I mean, I'm already writing the sequel and I plan to finish it too even if no one in the whole world reads it. I'm a hobbyist, after all. So yeah, maybe sometime soon I'll publish TSC, and the frequency of chapters should depend on my progress with the sequel.

"How long have you been writing?"

Hmmm depends on how you interpret it, I guess. If it is just writing as in literally writing fiction, then I could say since middle school? Even though at that time what I wrote was just bs lol. If you mean serious writing, maybe high school? Then I deleted everything and dropped it until I decided to write again when I entered college/university.

But yeah, I've always been creative and have always been thinking about stuff. In kindergarten I drew a lot, made oc's, and kept writing little "comics" about them all the way until I entered middle school. I also played with toys a lot and designed the craziests plots and stuff, lol. And yeah, both the kindergarten drawings and the toys have now grown into projects that I might want to write sometime, the latter one probably being the most 'webnovelish'.

"Do you use AI?":

I'm the writer. AI can help me with information, grammar, that kind of stuff.-- ahh, and maybe a tip for someone, but I don't feed my stuff into AI either. At most I copy a few sentences and sometimes even change that before I put it inside the prompt and ask my question (typically about grammar).

***

Cool beans? If you have (more) questions, I'm happy to answer. I also accept all criticism, because in the end it will help me develop after all, lol.

Thank you very much!
