“I’m back!”
“We’re back!”
Bringing Okajima along, I returned to my desk and sat down to write up the report.
Okajima headed off to give his usual report to the managing director.
It was basically like hosting a client under the guise of work performance, but since both parties were happy with the arrangement, I didn’t care at all.
“Good work, Onitsuka-kun. Want some of this? It’s a gift from a client.”
“Oh, thanks, I’ll take some.”
Hosotani-san, sitting across from me, offered a dorayaki as she praised me for my hard work.
My relationship with Hosotani-san at work remained outwardly good, just as it had always been.
Ah, that’s right. Speaking of Hosotani-san, there was one thing that had changed compared to before.

“Yeah, let’s do that, Saeki-kun.”
They had made their relationship public.
Starting the very day after Saeki confessed to me that he was dating Hosotani-san, the two of them started coming to the office together in the mornings.
According to Saeki, they had started living together.
Perhaps due to some change of heart, Hosotani-san had completely chopped off her long hair into a trendy, medium-short hairstyle.
When I first saw Hosotani-san with short hair, I was embarrassed to find my heart skipping a beat.
As expected, personality issues aside, Hosotani-san’s looks were truly first-class.
While Hosotani-san chatted and laughed happily with Saeki, I fully savored my dorayaki.
Mhm, delicious. This was first-class, too.
It was about ten minutes before the lunch break ended.
“Yamato, are you here?!”
Saeki rushed into the room, pale with panic.
“What’s wrong, Saeki? Why are you in such a rush?”
“Hosotani-san is… j-just come with me!”
Alarmed by Saeki’s frantic state, I shoved my chair back and stood up.
