Ios’s Scout Level Became 2!

Misha and I had been earning experience against F-rank monsters day after day.
Our level was 1. Even F-rank monsters gave a lot of experience.
However, the efficiency was not as good as it had been in Piptat.
The reason was—
“Ei!”
Misha’s strike cut down a goblin. Beside her, I defeated another goblin with an “ordinary broadsword.”
Yes, it was to let Misha fight.
If I fought with the Dire Wolf Broadsword, it would end instantly, so I had weakened my equipment.
…Though, just in case something happened, I did carry the Dire Wolf Broadsword around.
“Sorry, Ios. For making the leveling slower.”
“It’s fine.”
I smiled and shook my head.
“Isn’t this kind of thing good too? It’s fun.”
It was nice that it did not feel like work. Being able to give Misha advice on positioning and as a warrior was purely fun.
“Nishishishi! That’s true.”
Besides, the efficiency was not that bad either.
The reason was my skills.
My base attack power was only 209, lower than Misha’s, but thanks to the Sword Saint skill and Fighting Spirit Lv3, it had risen to 351.
“Oh right, Misha. Aren’t you going to use magic?”
Just like I could use my warrior skills, Misha should have been able to use her mage skills too.
A warrior who fought while using magic—
Cool!
“Ah, that… Actually, I can’t use it.”
“You can’t use it?”
“See, there’s the mage’s staff, right? I need that.”
“Huh, is that so?”
If I remembered right, when Misha changed jobs to warrior, her staff had become unequippable.
“Then does that mean warriors can’t use magic?”
“Hmm, you see, there’s a high-level mage skill called ‘Focus Tool Unneeded.’ If you take that, you’ll be fine even without a staff.”
“Ohh.”
“They say it’s a subtle skill, though. A mage can just carry a staff, and for other jobs, it’s too high-level to take. But—”
“With my Schrödinger’s Cat, it’s a different story.”
“Exactly!”
Misha pointed her finger sharply at me and said that.
“If you take that, a splendid warrior who can fight using magic is born!”
That was too cool…
Maybe I should make mage my next job change…
Man… Schrödinger’s Cat was amazing… It was interesting how easily it let me do chains of jobs that normally could not be done. It expanded my dreams too much.
And so, what I needed was steady leveling.
First, I would work hard as a scout.
I was aiming for the Assassination skill!
And so, when we defeated the next three goblins—
“Oh, I leveled up.”
We successfully became level 2.
Misha slapped the palm I held out with a paaan!
“We did it! What skills came out from Schrödinger’s Cat?”
The scene that was projected was—
“Bfwoh.”
I could not help but make a strange noise.
“It’s Assassination, Swift Sword Lv2, and Evasive Maneuvers Lv1…”
I never expected the “Assassination” I had been aiming for to appear right away…
Apparently my feelings drew skills toward me, so it was not that strange, but…
“Eeeeeeeeeeh!”
Misha raised a loud voice.
“That’s amazing, isn’t it? You did it! You have to take it!”
“…N-No… I can’t take it…”
“Why?”
“Because at level 2, I only have 20 skill points…”
Unfortunately, I did not have enough points to take Assassination…
What the heeeeeeeck!
“It came out too early!”
“Ahahahahahahaha!”
Seeing my disastrous state, Misha burst into laughter.
“Ios, your feelings were too strong! I want Assassination, I want Assassination! For now, you need to weaken your feelings a little more, don’t you?”
“Seriously. That’s seriously true.”
I had wanted it that badly, huh…
Well, I did want it.
But it felt like I had wasted something.
Misha opened her mouth.
“So, what about the other skills?”
“Hmm, the others aren’t at max level either… I guess I don’t really have to take them…”
I was still level 2. There was room to grow. There was no need to rush.
Or rather, if I used my points carelessly here, it would be a problem if I did not have enough points when Assassination appeared again.
Now was probably the time to save them.
I canceled the skill selection.
“Well, there’ll be another chance.”
When I turned around, thinking we should move locations—
Nyankoromochi, who was curled up in a sunny spot, gave a sleepy yawn.
You sure had it easy…
