Shaking off the charm, I firmly shook my head and got back to the main point.
Anyway, not being able to buy it is the same for the other players too.
“Is that so.”
“Hehehe. Didn’t I just say that?”
I had nothing to say, so I admitted defeat. Since it’s fair, I’ll let it go. My turn ended, and next was Sereina’s turn.
“Hohoho.”
Sereina rolled the dice with a laugh, and it spun wildly in place like her vibrant hair before stopping after a while.
The number was 5.
Sereina landed on a space where you draw a golden key. In BuruO-bul, there are spaces with golden keys scattered throughout.
If you land on that space, you have to draw a golden key card from Elena. The card can bring either fortune or misfortune.
The golden key cards have various things written on them, and there’s an absolute rule that you must follow whatever is written.
If you can’t, you ultimately admit defeat.
In the original BuruO-bul, typical golden key cards include ones that make you return to the start and collect salary, or move to a specific city.
If the city you move to is owned by another player, you have to pay a toll.
There are also cards that force you to go to an uninhabited island in the corner and take a rest for about three turns.
The golden key can change the game’s situation unexpectedly.
The golden key is like a microcosm of life with all its ups and downs, and Rurin and Sereina changed these the most.
They turned many original city spaces into golden key spaces. The number of golden key spaces, which were originally few, greatly increased in BuruO-bul.
So, if the two dragons played a prank, everything would be in these golden keys.
“It’s a golden key. As I said earlier, it’s fair, right? So, stop glaring at me.”
Sereina said that and reached out to Elena for a golden key.
Elena, who had carefully shuffled the golden key cards beforehand, picked the top card and began reading the text.
“Go to the uninhabited island, it says.”
“Huh? Uninhabited island?”
Sereina picked up the card from Elena’s hand with a very surprised face.
And she grimaced.
“Hey, you Black one!”
“Why, why! Why would someone like you go to the uninhabited island!”
Ironically, this time the two dragons started getting angry at each other. The uninhabited island is a penalty.
So, Rurin should be pleased, but she raised her hand, questioning why she went to the uninhabited island.
“I told you to remove this! It’s ridiculous.”
“You’re the one who shouldn’t be going!”
Sereina, of course, didn’t like going to the uninhabited island. But I couldn’t understand why Rurin reacted that way.
“Alright, calm down, and since it’s Rurin’s turn, roll the dice.”
“Are you also a fool? You two are a pair of fools.”
“What did you say?”
Calling me a fool too, has this dragon gone mad?
But Sereina was confident. She continued calling me a fool without flinching under my gaze.
After a while, Sereina pointed to the uninhabited island in the corner of the BuruO-bul game board and shouted as if it was unfair.
“Still don’t get it? Then read that!”
“Why? What’s there to read? It’s an uninhabited island. You can escape after three turns or if you roll the same number consecutively….”
That’s right.
In a typical BuruO-bul board, the uninhabited island in the corner requires rolling two dice and getting the same number to escape. For us, using one die, the same number must come up consecutively to escape.
If the same number doesn’t come up, you can only escape after three turns. It’s the only trap-like place in BuruO-bul.
Sereina’s expression was so odd that I read the words written on the uninhabited island board.
The two dragons had changed those words too.
The newly written conditions for escaping the uninhabited island were as follows:
If a human lands here, kiss a Black Dragon to escape.
The rest follows the original rules, regardless of what happens.
It was clearly something Rurin had written.
“Hey, Rurin! Why did you write this?”
“I don’t know. It wasn’t me.”
“Then was it me!”
Sereina started getting angry, but Rurin continued to act nonchalant.
It’s my fault for not reading carefully before starting.
Well, kissing itself isn’t hard.
I’ve decided not to live hiding my feelings anymore, like before. And I just need to avoid going to the uninhabited island.
“Well, it doesn’t matter, so just roll.”
“Huh?”
When I handed Rurin the dice, she looked momentarily confused but quickly rolled them.
And the number was 4.
Another golden key.
“Why are there so many golden keys.”
With so many golden key spaces, it’s natural to land on them often, but I felt uneasy when Rurin landed on a golden key.
To be precise, it was Rurin’s strong luck that worried me.
Then Elena started reading the golden key card that Rurin drew.
“Congratulations. You’ve won 100,000 Linds.”
“What?”
“Oh?”
“Why did you draw that!”
In disbelief, I was the first to exclaim,
“What?”
Rurin was delighted, and Sereina stomped her feet and screamed.
Judging by the reaction, it seems clear that the golden key related to money that was just drawn was made by Sereina.
Sereina mostly dealt with money.
And Rurin changed the game rules with desires like kissing. So, does that make Rurin cuter?
Even so, the scene of them drawing cards they made for themselves was just funny.
Moreover, it was a reminder that Rurin indeed has good luck.
“Hehehe. 100,000 Linds! You, I will win!”
Rurin started grinning as she received the money from Elena. With that money, she’s already halfway to winning from the start.
“It’s not over yet! Just wait and see!”
Sereina shouted loudly in frustration, but Rurin looked at her with a pitiful expression.
“Why are you looking at me pitifully? It’s ridiculous. I’ll escape the uninhabited island in no time!”
Amidst the two dragons who seemed to kill each other a hundred times with their gazes, I rolled the dice. It was my turn.
The dice rolled again.
My piece landed on another golden key.
“Go to the uninhabited island, it says… What should I do?”
Elena read the card with a regretful face and handed it to me. Why are there so many “Go to the Uninhabited Island” cards? This is undoubtedly Rurin’s trick.
The culprit of this trick was cheering.
It’s a trap. A trap.
There are traps everywhere.
But I can’t refuse now. According to the “Go to the Uninhabited Island” card, my piece moved to the uninhabited island.
“Hahaha!”
Sereina started laughing as if she was pleased.
“Oh oh oh! Finally, you landed on the uninhabited island.”
Rurin still looked like she was ecstatic.
“You, then…”
“Nope? I’ll just be stuck for three turns.”
“What? That can’t be. You can never come out! That’s what the uninhabited island is. Look there! It’s written that way!”
Rurin pointed to the uninhabited island space with a very aggrieved look as if she was wrongly accused of murder.
She bit her lip as if she was going to die of injustice.
Her cheeks started to puff up more and more.
It seemed like there would be a big fuss if I left her like that. So, I went next to trembling Rurin and whispered in her ear.
“Okay. Okay. Let’s settle this later. We can’t do this in front of everyone, right?”
“Really? You’re not lying, right?”
Rurin’s face brightened up instantly, and she nodded.
“Ha, I can hear you both. This is ridiculous.”
Sereina shook her head, and Elena looked at us with a longing expression, clasping her hands together.
And the game continued.
Rurin used the 100,000 Linds to eventually buy our restaurant and her lair. She didn’t even blink when landing on other places.
“Imperial Capital. Purchase price is 2,000 Linds.”
Setting the Imperial Capital at 2,000 Linds when our restaurant is 50,000 Linds. Amazing, really.
“I won’t buy that.”
In this way, Rurin snorted at other lands, showing no interest. It’s like she doesn’t care about anything other than me.
On the other hand, Sereina was different. She was gathering as much land as she could buy.
“Why are you buying so much? I only need my lair and the restaurant.”
“You got caught.”
“Oh no!”
Rurin’s face turned red and blue. She was moving around like a hedgehog to avoid Sereina’s spiderweb-like land but finally got caught.
“Red Dragon’s Sanctuary. Since there are two buildings here, the toll is 10,000 Linds.”
“I’m flying right now. So I won’t step on that land.”
Rurin raised her palm to Sereina’s cheers that she got caught. And absurdly declared that she was flying, turning her head away.
“Ridiculous.”
“You! Lend me some money!”
Rurin looked at me with a pitiful expression. She reached out with both hands. Normally, I wouldn’t mind giving Rurin money, but this is a game. A competition.
I turned my head away cruelly.
“You… you abandoned me! Bad you. Bad. Bad, bad, bad. Bad. Quack!”
“Don’t bite my head, you punk. Is that a wild habit? Why are you biting my head?”
“Not tasty.”
“If you don’t pay up soon, you’ll be last place for rule violation?”
“That can’t be. Ugh.”
In the end, Rurin puffed out her cheeks and sent a resentful look at me, then paid the 10,000 Linds.
Having gone all-in on expensive land, Rurin was nearly out of money after paying the 10,000 Linds.
Rurin had only 1,000 Linds left.
Still, it’s cheap for a toll.
The Red Dragon’s Sanctuary that Rurin landed on was something Sereina had made very cheap.
If the Elder of the Red Dragons knew, he’d be furious.
Well, Sereina has a trump card too. It’s <Elena’s Clinic>.
“If you get caught again, it’s over. Over. Hahaha.”
Sereina started laughing happily. Rurin was definitely in trouble. With only two pieces of land, the chances of getting caught were low, making it hard to earn money. Of course, if she got caught once, it would be instant death.
The last place has to do all the cleaning up and miscellaneous tasks.
And it’s Rurin’s turn again.
“What is this!”
Rurin started screaming. It wasn’t over yet. It wasn’t over, but it was almost the same as being over.
Rurin landed in a section that could be called the devil’s zone. That’s because from 1 to 6, it was all Sereina’s land.
In other words, Rurin, with almost no money, was guaranteed to be out next.
Anyway, I had to win too, so I couldn’t help her. I ignored the dejected Rurin and rolled the dice.
“Tch.”
Sereina clicked her tongue.
Rurin just grabbed my arm and trembled in anger, watching.
