“Wake up, Dragon.”
Another ordinary day begins. A typical afternoon. I wake the dragon who is still sprawled out. This is also part of the routine.
“Uung?”
The black-haired dragon rubs her eyes and staggers to her feet as usual. I habitually tidy the messy hair of the dragon with care. It’s the same routine every day. Routine.
Rurin said that her hair is like fur when she’s in dragon form. She used to prance around, insisting she would never let a human touch it.
Now, there’s no resistance.
No, rather she makes a fuss asking to be gentler. Rurin’s hair is like silk. So honestly, it’s rewarding to comb.
After roughly washing and dressing her, dragging her down to the first floor, she finally looks at me with some awareness. Of course, her first words are always the same.
“Give me food. Food! Food! I’m hungry. Food!”
It’s very similar to the first words my father would say to my mother when he came home from work in my childhood. Although my father didn’t prance around cutely like this dragon.
The dragon jumps around me, raising both hands and demanding food. Naturally, her cheeks are puffed out. A sign of hunger.
“Alright, please sit here, Dragon.”
“Okay. Bring it quickly!”
She nods confidently and sits at the bar table. Naturally, Rurin eats meat dishes.
She doesn’t like vegetables much.
It would be funnier if a dragon liked vegetables. Not that she doesn’t eat them at all. She eats them somewhat if they’re with meat.
It’s also funny to force a dragon to eat vegetables for nutrition, so I don’t insist too much.
“Rurin. Let’s take a bath today. Eat your meal quickly and get ready.”
“A bath, you say?”
The dragon stood up with shining eyes.
“It’s already time! My body feels stiff, this is perfect!”
“What kind of old man-like lines are you saying? The strongest species feeling stiff? You’re just a kid among dragons?”
She’s lived longer than any human, but among dragons, well.
So she’s cheeky.
I grabbed Rurin’s lips with my hand and pulled them. Then, with her lips stretched out, she shook her head wildly from side to side.
“Uuuuu.”
There are also public baths in Greek City. Comparable to Roman-style public baths in modern terms. But if I push this dragon into a bath alone, the building would be blown away. Rurin can’t do anything alone. As a human, she’s a zero.
Since it’s her first time following me for amusement, she knows nothing about the human world and humans, so it’s inevitable.
Rurin is just a dragon who slept in the lair her mother left behind.
Anyway, I can’t send Rurin to a women’s bath alone, and it’s better to use a clean hot spring I made myself than a public bath used by many people, so I make one myself.
Usually, it’s a light shower. And once a month, I use a bath. Living in a fixed pattern, Rurin is automatically included in that routine.
Rurin doesn’t particularly dislike bathing itself. No, she actually likes it, as her reaction now shows. She is a dragon who likes hot water.
So, I put up a temporary ‘Closed’ sign and dragged Rurin by the hand, leading her up the hill.
“Let’s make it here today.”
“Here?”
“Yeah, according to last time’s experience, this is the groundwater vein.”
The groundwater of this era is pure. It’s incomparable to modern groundwater.
There are no chemical pollutants in this world. Moreover, this groundwater is the source used by the wells in Greek City. It’s verified drinking water.
Last time, we almost hit magma by digging in the wrong place. The dragon used too much force.
“Alright, give it your best, Dragon.”
I pointed in the direction and urged Rurin.
“Here, right? Leave it to me.”
Rurin answered confidently and soon opened her mouth. Her breath shot out. Compared to when she’s in dragon form, the power is less than half, but it’s perfect for making a hot spring.
If she used a large-scale magic wrong, it wouldn’t just make a hot spring, it would destroy the hill.
So the current breath, which can be finely controlled, is rather optimal.
Rurin first carved a circular area in the center of the hill. Then she kept using her breath in the center.
The dragon’s breath pierced through the hill, digging down into the underground. The groundwater, pushed by the breath’s force, surged and spouted out.
Since the central surface of the protruding hill was dug and trimmed circularly, the water spouts out and fills up from the pressure of the breath. The key is to immediately block the hole with a magical barrier once it’s filled to a certain extent.
“Hah, hah! My mouth hurts!”
Rurin closed her mouth and grimaced. She grumbled again about how uncomfortable the human body is.
“It’s hard, but you can’t rest yet. Put a protective spell on the hole you made, or the water will drain out.”
“I already did. What do you take me for? Hehehe. You are an amateur!”
“Is that so? Well done.”
Thanks to the high-temperature dragon breath, the water is extremely hot. No, it’s boiling. If you go in as it is, you’ll be on a journey to the afterlife.
I used an ice spell to freeze one side of the water. Just until the water reached a suitable temperature.
A suitable temperature for a bath is around 30 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Circulating the water and waiting a bit makes the temperature just right. A hot spring of the right temperature and size is born.
Of course, strictly speaking, it’s not a hot spring because it was artificially heated using dragon breath. A hot spring refers to water naturally heated by things like magma. But to us, it’s a hot spring. Magma or dragon breath, same difference.
“Can we go in now?”
Rurin checked the water temperature slightly. Then she took her clothes off. It’s her naked body that I wake, wash, and dress every day. It’s not new.
“Use a towel. You exhibitionist dragon.”
“Humans are really bothersome. Hiyuu.”
The towel I threw landed on Rurin’s head. Without even touching the towel, Rurin plunged into the hot spring and leaned against the edge with an old man-like satisfaction.
“Ahh, this is nice. I want to do this every day, but it’s bothersome. What are you doing, not coming in?”
“I’m coming. I’m coming.”
I took my clothes off too. Then, I wrapped a large towel around my important parts and entered the hot water. Oh, the temperature is perfect. It feels like my fatigue is melting away. This heat. Ahhh.
I leaned against the opposite side of Rurin and soaked my body. Rurin, without thinking of removing the towel on her head, let out a long sigh.
“Funya.”
Eventually, she started to slump. The hot steam rose into the sky. The sun began to set beyond Greek Mountain beyond Greek City. It’s a superb view.
“Alright, since I’m in a good mood, I’ll give you a gift.”
“A gift? What is it!”
The dragon reacted to the word ‘gift’ and finally grabbed the towel on her head and walked towards me, splashing.
I opened the bag placed on the upper edge of the hot spring.
“A cocktail.”
“What’s a cocktail?”
“It’s similar to alcohol.”
“Oh, alcohol in a place like this!”
The stars were beginning to appear in the sky, and stars appeared in Rurin’s eyes too. I gestured for her to stay still and took out my secret weapon.
Chocolate liqueur. Specifically, chocolate cream liqueur. Mozart Chocolate Liqueur. Simply put, it’s chocolate alcohol.
It’s a flavor that Rurin would love.
It was a mistake summoned while trying to summon chocolate.
I’ve only heard of it back when I attended culinary school, so I don’t know the taste well.
I poured the chocolate liqueur into a glass. Should I describe it as a syrup-like alcohol made of chocolate cream? I mixed it with milk. This Mozart Chocolate Liqueur I’m using is characterized by its prominent chocolate flavor ─
So it says.
Mix it thoroughly with a spoon, and you have a simple cocktail.
“What is this? The color looks strange.”
“Will the taste be strange too? Try it.”
I handed her a glass. Then I took a sip too.
Puhaha.
It’s delicious.
The sweetness of the chocolate spreads throughout my mouth. At the same time, the alcohol mixed with the chocolate hits my brain. The bitter yet pleasant feeling.
A flavor reminiscent of a luxurious almond chocolate with a bitter aftertaste of alcohol. Especially, the milk neutralizes the alcohol, making it incredibly smooth. And sweet.
Chocolate alcohol in hot water. How luxurious. Even the hot spring was made by us, so this too is luxurious.
The surrounding scenery also gives the feeling of paradise. The blue sky and the distant mountains. And the dragon in front of me who is, after all, a beauty.
“Oh, oh? This is sweet!”
The dragon who tasted the sweetness didn’t savor it but downed it in one shot. Then she handed me the glass.
“One more!”
“Hey, you should savor it a bit.”
“Hmph! You’re too much. It’s unfair of you to bring out such sweet and delicious alcohol now. I like sweet things! Hehehe!”
Yeah, it’s alcohol that women like too. After all, it’s chocolate. Rurin, with a melting expression, took the glass I handed her again. Then her eyes started to spin.
Huh?
“Hehehehe! It’s delicious! It’s delicious. You should drink too.”
And then she pounced on me. Literally pounced. She piled her body on top of mine and bumped her forehead against mine with that momentum.
“Hrmp!”
Then this dragon opened my mouth with her hand and started transferring the chocolate alcohol from her mouth. The sweetness of the chocolate she held in her mouth spread.
No, that’s not the problem. Has this gluttonous dragon gone mad?
She probably has no idea what she’s doing. Good grief.
I barely managed to detach the dragon’s lips.
“Hehehe. Isn’t it delicious? Why aren’t you drinking more!”
And then Rurin drank the remaining chocolate alcohol. This is a reaction exactly like getting drunk on soju.
Wait a minute.
Feeling uneasy, I turned around and checked the chocolate liqueur bottle.
Alcohol content: 17%.
A phrase that would shock anyone appeared before me.
“Wait, Rurin! Stop drinking! Stop, Dragon!”
No wonder she was doing such ridiculous things she never does.
Where in the world is there a dragon that clings when drunk… no, here she is.
It was a mistake not to check the alcohol content since it was my first time drinking this. Mixing it with milk, I didn’t realize it was 17%.
“No! It’s delicious, really!”
In the end, Rurin, who had emptied the glass, clung to me again.
“Hehehe. You know, your old comrade once said to steal a kiss! That way, you’d be immobilized! Give me your lips!”
“Don’t be ridiculous, you drunken dragon!”
“Kyahhh!”
I take back what I said earlier about her not knowing the meaning of what she’s doing.
Surprisingly, this dragon knew at least the rough meaning of lips touching. That old comrade.
But I have zero desire to be pounced on by a drunk dragon.
I stopped the bath and carried the limp, dizzy dragon back home.
Even after washing her entire body and laying her on the bed, she clung to me desperately and showed no intention of letting go.
It means I had to stay stuck to her until late at night.
Of course, I immediately filled up the hot spring the next day. I only dig it up when needed. That’s the rule.
