It was raining. This wasn’t ordinary rain.

A powerful storm caused by a tropical depression, often called a typhoon or hurricane.

For convenience, let’s call it a typhoon.

Anyway, this powerful storm was shaking the autumn sky of Greek City.

-Whooooosh!

The strong wind shook the walls of the restaurant, howling eerily.

It didn’t feel like a typhoon strong enough to uproot trees or send signs flying, but it was certain that no customers would come through this storm.

-Whooooosh!

The wind rattled the restaurant door again. Even though all the doors were closed, the heavy rain was seeping in little by little.

“You, you, you, you, you, you!”

“Did I die or something? Why the fuss?”

The dragon rampaged, calling out to me. When I frowned, it frowned back at me.

“The wind is noisy. It’s been rattling since a while ago! Should I stop it?”

“No… Please endure it, Dragon. Changing the flow of nature isn’t a good idea. It could affect other places.”

A weather change made by the dragon without thinking could cause a massive tsunami in another town. The butterfly effect, where an unintended flap of a butterfly’s wings creates a massive storm, is valid everywhere. So changing the weather is dangerous.

Nature is that terrifying. Even more so than dragons.

Trying to defy such nature and play god is arrogance.

Unless Rurin’s life depended on stopping this rain, that is.

“Is that so? If you say so, I can’t help it. But it’s noisy.”

Rurin frowned and threw the empty beer can into the trash. Naturally, all the butchers and markets were closed, so we couldn’t even go to the market.

So it’s a perfect holiday.

It’s midday, and the dragon who just woke up is annoyed by the noise of the wind, and the restaurant is completely closed.

At times like this, it’s best to do the household chores that have been neglected.

Thinking that, I was about to go to the second floor when the dragon started opening another beer can. The wind and rain grew stronger, shaking the door.

-Rattle, rattle, rattle.

It seemed that being on the hill made us more susceptible to the wind than the city. In terms of topography, Greek City is surrounded by Greek Mountain and the hill where our restaurant is located, which somewhat protects it from the wind.

-Crack!

Astonishingly, the door shook and cracked. Made of wood, it wasn’t strong enough. It had no strength. Brick would be the best construction material, but the problem was the wooden door frame and restaurant doors.

“Hmm.”

Changing the course of nature is not allowed. But defending oneself is not bad, right? Protecting my restaurant from the wind wouldn’t cause a butterfly effect, would it?

It’s not that I’m changing my words.

“Rurin. What are you doing?”

“Eating jerky!”

The dragon, who had already opened another beer can, was sitting at the bar table munching on something.

“What are you eating?”

Rurin held her hand out, showing jerky. When did she find that in the food storage?

“If you’re going to chew it, just chew it. Why are you holding it in your mouth?”

Rurin, annoyed at the thought of explaining, took the jerky out of her mouth and started shouting.

“This, you see! It’s tastier to melt it slowly in your mouth while drinking beer than to chew it. Hehe.”

“Oh, really?”

She nodded proudly.

Proudly explaining her method of eating jerky, she put the jerky back in her mouth and furrowed her brows.

She had a look of deliciousness and happiness on her face.

That happy expression had the effect of making me happy too. I don’t know why, but it just does.

No, that’s not right.

I collected myself and spoke to the dragon again.

“Rurin, can you put up a shield around the restaurant? The wind is too strong, and I’m a bit worried.”

“A shield, you say? That’s different from what you said earlier.”

“I’m just protecting the restaurant. I’m not touching nature. It’s not like nature is determined to destroy our restaurant.”

“Nature destroys our house? If that happens, I will fight nature. What’s yours is mine!”

“Exactly, that’s it. So, please put up the shield.”

“Alright, understood!”

Rurin started channeling mana with the jerky still in her mouth. Soon, the rattling sound completely disappeared.

The leaking raindrops also disappeared.

Thanks to the shield, the restaurant became very quiet. Peace had returned.

“I’ve put a shield on the restaurant walls. It’s perfect!”

“Seems so.”

“Hehehe, then pet me!”

Rurin leaned her head towards the kitchen on the bar table. I had nothing to say. She deserved a reward for her efforts.

Swoosh, swoosh.

I petted her black hair from the crown to the nape of her neck, and she wriggled. A smile spread across her face.

“Your hands are warm, and I like it.”

“That’s nice, but stop drinking beer and get up. Now that the shield is up, let’s do some housework.”

“Housework?”

“Yes.”

Sensing it was a troublesome task, the dragon tried to flee but I grabbed her by the scruff and led her to the second floor.

“You, I’m sleepy now!”

“You just woke up, how can you be sleepy? No nonsense, please, ma’am.”

“Aaang!”

She whined with her characteristic ‘I hate this!’ but was eventually dragged to the second floor.

The first household chore to tackle was undoubtedly the laundry. It’s the biggest task.

It’s definitely not the right weather for cleaning.

Given that it’s impossible to dry laundry in the sun, it’s also not suitable weather for doing laundry, but the laundry pile has grown too big.

Although I used teleportation to get to the capital and back, the clothes worn during the stay there and the postponed laundry had piled up significantly, so I had to tackle it when I had the time.

Not having sunlight doesn’t mean you can’t dry laundry. There are many ways.

There was another reason for the sudden increase in laundry.

Due to the massive purchase of clothes last time, the amount of clothes worn naturally increased, and if I let my guard down for a bit, it would pile up like a mountain.

So most of the laundry scattered in the laundry room was Rurin’s clothes.

“What is this?”

Rurin looked at her clothes piled up in the laundry room with a horrified expression. Why the shock? She wore them herself.

“These are your clothes that need washing.”

“I see. Do your best!”

“Today, I will especially teach you how to do laundry. You’ve been dodging it all this time, right?”

“I’m a dragon that doesn’t wear clothes!”

“So what you’re wearing now is fur, not clothes?”

“That’s right!”

“Don’t be ridiculous. There’s too much, so help out. Most of it is your clothes. I can’t trust you to do it alone, but you can help, right? This mom is tired, getting old. How long do I have to do laundry and feed you? Got it?”

“Ugh… Why are you my mom!”

“So you’re not going to help?”

Rurin glanced at me and then looked at the laundry. Feeling there was no way out, she puffed her cheeks and sat next to me, grumbling.

“Fine, I’ll do it!”

I first demonstrated to her. I sprinkled water and rubbed laundry soap on it.

The laundry soap is, of course, a modern summoned item.

You have to rub especially on the dirty parts.

It’s best to rinse all at once, so after rubbing, I piled it up beside me.

Even so, she tends to wear clean clothes, so there aren’t really any dirty parts. Unless she’s drunk, she doesn’t spill anything on her clothes. She’s a rather clean dragon in appearance.

Again, unless she’s sleepy or drunk.

When she’s sleepy or drunk, she makes a mess of her clothes and the restaurant.

“How is it? Can you do it?”

“Hehe, is that all? There’s nothing this dragon can’t do!”

Rurin, as if she never grumbled, nodded confidently and started doing the laundry. After a while of keeping up with me, rubbing soap, she picked up something and looked puzzled.

“What is this? It’s not mine. Hmm.”

What Rurin was holding was my drawers. Yes, my underwear.

“Hey, give that to me. I’ll wash it.”

“I remember! This is that thing! I’ve seen you wearing it when I barged into your bedroom. Oh, it’s your important underwear. I’ll wash it! Hehe.”

Rurin, with a meaningful smile, wetted my underwear. It’s not that I attach great significance to underwear, but it feels a bit strange. How should I explain this feeling?

Rurin got soap on her nose, rolled her sleeves up, and very carefully washed my underwear. She applied soap once, then checked the condition and applied soap again.

“Ohhh!”

She exclaimed in admiration. What on earth is this dragon thinking?

Feeling a tickling sensation in my chest, I gathered all my underwear except for that one next to me.

Rurin, showing interest in my laundry, pounced on it.

We tussled over it.

“I’ll do your laundry! I’ve heard that it’s what I should do!”

“That’s enough. Do your own laundry.”

Like this.

Thanks to this, we’re both covered in soap.

Oh dear.

Anyway, that battle ended, and the soap rubbing was mostly done, so I straightened my back and stood up.

“Now, we need to rinse it again with water, wring it out, and dry it.”

“This is hard! Let’s use magic!”

“No, magic is too strong; it will tear the clothes.”

“Hmm, oh! I have a good idea!”

“What?”

Rurin quickly ran off with the laundry that needed rinsing.

“Hey! What are you doing? If you do something weird, you’ll get scolded!”

“You should thank me!”

Rurin dashed outside into the typhoon. She protected the laundry from flying away with a shield, then took out each piece of laundry within the shield. The heavy rain and wind battered the laundry from all sides.

Oh?

It was indeed a good method.

The clothes were completely soaked by the storm, and we looked like madmen holding up clothes and laughing, which was a terrifying sight if anyone saw us.

What got into our dragon?

“How is it? Isn’t this body amazing? Hehe.”

“It really is…”

I meekly agreed and followed Rurin’s lead. With this much pounding from all sides, it felt like the laundry was being washed just by holding it up. It was like nature’s washing machine.

Anyway, the rain in this world wasn’t polluted at all. If necessary, it could be drunk without any major problems. So using it for laundry was fine.

So we returned to the restaurant looking like drenched rats.

“You, I’m cold. Everything is fine, but the wind is too cold. Achoo!”

Rurin started to cough.

In her human body, she couldn’t escape the cold and heat. It was a natural phenomenon, so I pointed to the second floor and said.
