“In that case… I won’t hold back.”

He said this, smiling softly.

Carlo could not understand how Jonah remained so calm while standing before not only the terrifying sea-serpent monster but also the gigantic white fish-beast.

All Carlo could do was stare at Jonah’s figure.

“Guardian Deity… can you push that monster farther away from the ship?”

BWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!”

Jonah called out toward the towering back facing the sea-serpent monster, and the white fish-beast responded with a blast of spray and a roar.

“Wha—!?”

BWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!”

With a battle roar, the white fish-beast charged forward.

The sea-serpent monster countered, sinking its saw-like fangs into the massive creature, but the white fish-beast pushed forward unfazed.

“Thank you. This distance is enough—please move away from that monster now, Guardian Deity.”

As expected, the white fish-beast understood Jonah’s words.

Shaking off the serpent’s biting fangs, the beast moved back to stand protectively before Il Vento D’oro.

“Ahaha.”

Jonah lifted both hands forward and laughed.

Just like the moment he incinerated the swarm of locusts in the Hagenberg territory.

—To crush an unreasonable being who believed itself absolute… with something even more unreasonable.

“O origin of the waters sunken in the depths—manifest before me, become waves that pierce the heavens, and imprison the foolish serpent that impersonates a god!”

As Jonah pointed his right index finger toward the sea and traced symbols at incredible speed, six glowing magic circles appeared around the serpent monster.

“【Wassersäule】.”1

“—!?”

The six glowing circles spun, summoning towering columns of swirling water that surpassed even the massive serpent.

The serpent tried to break free, thrusting its head between the pillars, but the whirlpools repelled it—tearing off its blue scales that even Fire of Judgment couldn’t scratch, revealing soft pale-pink flesh beneath.

“Wh-what… what is this…?”

Carlo muttered in a daze at the impossible sight.

The enemy that had slaughtered and devoured so many of his comrades now lay helplessly restrained.

Galileo and the sailors, too, watched in breath-held silence.

“O origin of lightning that sleeps within darkened clouds—manifest before me, become wrathful light, and bring the hammer of judgment upon the foolish serpent who impersonates a god!”

This time, Jonah aimed his left index finger at the serpent trapped within the water pillars and drew magic circles with blinding speed.

“【Mjolnir】.”

Above the serpent, at the center of the six water pillars, a glowing magic circle formed—and from it emerged a massive lightning-clad iron block.

As if drawn by the Central Sea itself, it slowly descended toward the impostor.

GHHHHHHHHHHHHH—!?”

Upon contact, the serpent wasn’t even granted the right to scream—lightning surged through it, making its body convulse as the iron mass continued forcing it downward.

All it could do was endure the wrath of the Thunder God.

“Go on… repent for your sins at the bottom of the sea.”

The iron dragged the serpent deeper… and then—

—The iron block vanished into the sea.

Phew…

Jonah looked up at the sky and exhaled deeply.

Ancient magic required massive mana, but unfortunately, nothing could deplete Jonah’s reserves.

That very surplus of mana—ever breaking his small body—continued to eat away at him.

But now, having met the true Guardian Deity of the Central Sea and defeated the sea-serpent monster, even that pain felt pleasant to him.

“Jonah… you…”

Carlo pointed at Jonah, his finger trembling.

Jonah turned back and faced him.

“Carlo… it’s done.”

“Jonaaaaaah!!”

Carlo ran forward and lifted Jonah high into the air with both arms.

“You’re amazing! Absolutely amazing! You took down that so-called deity—no, that damn serpent monster!”

“Ehehe—wait!? Waaah!?”

Jonah blushed at Carlo’s radiant praise, but then Galileo and the sailors rushed in, tossing him into chaos.

“You’re incredible, Lord Jonah!”

“What an unbelievable mage!”

“Thank you! You’ve saved all of us!”

As their strong, trained arms lifted Jonah—

“Alright everyone—let’s toss this little hero!”

OOOOOOOOHHHH!!”

Waaah!? Ah—ahahahaha!!”

Thrown high into the air, even the initially startled Jonah laughed joyfully.

BWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!”

—Wrapped in the thunderous cry of blessing from the true Guardian Deity of the Central Sea.
