I somehow returned to the royal capital just as the sun was about to set.
“Hoho. So this is a nest of humans. I’ve peeked with my Sagacious Eye before, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen it with my own eyes.”
“Through the shadows, though.”
“What will you do next?”
“I’ll sell the magic stones I gathered in the dungeon to the Adventurer’s Guild. It’s all for revenge.”
With the Extra Class【Shadow Necromancer 】 and Ekarraat’s power, taking revenge on Sylvan and the others at this stage isn’t impossible.
But—just killing them for revenge would be boring.
I want to level up more, grow stronger, demonstrate an overwhelming gap in power, make them taste deep humiliation first—and then kill them.
To do that, the quickest way is to get stronger while earning money as an adventurer.
“It’d be bad to run into Sylvan and the others dressed like this.”
The Adventurer’s Guild is where adventurers from all over the capital gather.
So there’s a chance I’ll run into Sylvan and his group.
My current outfit is the spare cloak of the Hero Sylvan that was in my knapsack.
My height and build have changed, so it’s unlikely they’ll recognize me, but the knapsack and cloak could give me away.
So upon arriving in the capital I decided to stop by a clothing shop first.
Back when I was a slave I managed consumables, so I have enough to buy a set of clothes.
“The shirt under that cloak seems to be reaching its limit, too.”
“Hey, don’t stick your face out from the shadow. Don’t peek from under my crotch.”
“Fugya――――Who would be so stupid as to step on a beauty’s face? What will you do if my high nose gets broken!”
“You’re Undead, so even if it broke it’d regenerate, right?”
“This treatment for the strongest Vampire Princess… how fearless, kuhuhu.”
“Why do you sound a little pleased about that?”
My tight trousers were about to tear at the crotch, and at this rate my son would be saying hello.
I hurry into the clothing shop before I become a pervert who reveals himself the moment I lift the cloak.
“W-welcome――――ah!”
The shopkeeper smiled and bowed as he saw my face—but when he noticed my hair color he clicked his tongue in displeasure.
“What is this one. How rude.”
“That’s how the Shikai Tribe gets treated.”
Since he didn’t throw me out, it seems he’ll at least treat me as a customer.
Treatment’s the same everywhere, so I continue shopping in this store.
That said, it seems to be a higher-class shop than I expected.
I wonder if what I have on hand will be enough.
“Also, Ekarraat, stop talking when there are people around.”
“No need to worry. When I’m inside the shadow, my voice can only be heard by Sid.”
“Think about me having to reply. People will think I’m a crazy guy muttering to himself forever.”
“Then form the words in your head. They’ll still reach me.”
“(Really?)”
“Really.”
It’s true.
So even my thoughts are completely leaking to Ekarraat.
I have less privacy than when I was a slave.
“Sid, get this. It’s quite stylish.”
Ekarraat is recommending a black long coat.
Charms and buttons decorating it are silver, and the size looks just right for me.
“(It’s a bit too flashy.)”
I respond to Ekarraat in my head.
“Too flashy is exactly right. And with Sid’s current build and face, he won’t be swallowed by the clothes.”
I happen to find a mirror and peer into it.
In it was a sharp-featured young man with black hair and black eyes.
He looked to be around twenty years old.
“(Is that really my face…?)”
“Quite handsome, isn’t he? Kuhuhu.”
There’s almost no trace left of the gaunt boy who suffered chronic malnutrition during my slave days.
They said those who became Undead from the Progenitor Vampire’s blood are fixed at their prime appearance.
If I’d had proper nutrition and training from childhood, maybe I would have grown into something like this.
“That’s exactly it. Get this one. I’ll pick out a shirt, undergarments, and shoes too. I also bear the title of Fashionable Master, Vampire Princess, you know.”
“(You definitely just made that up now.)”
