Since our group cleared up the rain problem, we finally… set out to sea!
We returned to the port town and immediately arranged a ship.
Since I had never ridden one before, I had Zenith-chan arrange it.
Apparently a place called the Maritime Guild manages ships and ports.
“…The arrangements are complete.”
“Oh, nice. Thanks.”
Zenith-chan and Toka-chan returned from the guild.
We were drinking tea at a nearby café.
“Sui-chan, this is called tea.”
“…oh.”
“It’s tasty!”
“…gulp gulp.”
“This is cake! It’s tasty!”
“…munch munch.”
“Ah! Cream on your mouth! Daphne will wipe it!”
“…smile.”
And so the rabbit tribe’s Daphne-chan acted like a good big sister toward our new companion, the water spirit Sui-chan.
Since Sui-chan had never been outside before, she knew nothing.
Daphne eagerly taught her many things.
She had always been the youngest, so maybe she was happy to have a little sister.
“So, about the ship tickets—where are we heading?”
“…An island nation called Fotiatuyah.”
“Fotiatuyah… ah, I think I’ve heard of it… the desert elf country?”
“…Yes. An island south of the Kingdom of Gata-Niiga.”
“Ooh, southern island vacation! Sounds fun!”
I let Zenith-chan decide the destination. I didn’t really mind where, so I figured I’d leave it to them.
Well, any island was fine, but I did request somewhere enjoyable.
“How’s the public safety?”
“…I hear it’s not bad. The desert elves are a species friendly to humans.”
Desert elves—the ones once called dark elves.
Unlike Zenith-chan’s forest elves, they live in hot places.
“Alright then, let’s board the ship. Destination: Fotiatuyah!”
““““Yeah!””””
“““Ueeehhh…………”””
And so we were aboard the ship.
The slave-chans were down on the deck.
“I feel sick…”
“Nausea… ugh…”
“…This phenomenon called seasickness is damaging the inner ear… bleh.”
The slave-chans seemed weak to ships.
“Zenith-chan, is this your first time on a ship too? I thought since you were former royalty you’d ridden one.”
“…Yes. I knew about them, but it’s my first time riding one… ugh.”
Oh dear, everyone looked miserable.
The robo-maid was fine because she was a robot, Sui-chan was fine because she was a spirit.
“Master is also not human so fine. End of statement.”
“Hey you robot, I am human.”
“…Seyi-sama, why are you completely fine?”
“Well, probably because during my alchemy training under master I traveled everywhere. Things like escaping a deserted island with only a knife, or escaping a volcano crater without melting a candle.”
I went through extremely harsh training, so I gained various resistances.
“…You experienced something so terrifying.”
“Master… how pitiful…”
“Big sister, Daphne suffered too but meeting big sister is really fun!”
The slave-chans hugged me.
Wait, why am I being pitied!?
“““Ugh…”””
“Oh dear, it’s tough. In that case… shall we make some medicine?”
That said, I didn’t have a potion for seasickness.
I had stocked some potions at master’s workshop, but I never expected to ride a ship.
So I had no stock… however!
“Sui-chan, it’s your turn already!”
“…!” salute
Come to think of it, the ship charged a fare for Sui too…
Lower spirits are often invisible, but Sui is high-ranking as the spirit queen’s daughter, so she’s visible to the naked eye.
That’s why the bandits could see her.
“Alright, give me Magic Water.”
Sui extended both hands and formed a sphere of water on her palm.
Jade-tinted water… oh, it really is Magic Water.
This is normally extremely difficult to produce.
Being able to make it so easily really helps.
“Now I’ll put this Magic Water into the Alchemy Workshop.”
I produced a glowing cube in the air.
This was the Alchemy Workshop, a magical subspace where alchemy work could be done.
Time flows differently inside, so any potion can be made quickly.
“Put the Magic Water and herbs inside and mix.”
Then I made potion bottles with the crystal from Undine and poured the medicine inside.
“Here. Medicine effective for seasickness. It’s called an Adaptation Potion.”
I had the slave-chans drink the Adaptation Potion.
Then…
“Wow! Amazing!”
“The sickness vanished instantly!”
“…Easy to drink and delicious. As expected of Seyi-sama’s potion.”
The slave-chans looked at me with respect.
Well, thank you very much.
“E-excuse me, miss?”
“Hm? Who are you?”
“Pardon… I am a traveler. My name is Brockes.”
A tall handsome man.
He wore something like a turban.
Tanned skin and pointed ears.
“Oh, are you perhaps a desert elf?”
“Yes. Correct. I am returning to my homeland… however my subordinates have become seasick. If possible, could you share that wonderful potion?”
“Sure.”
“Thank you. Then—”
“Wait a sec. I’ll whip some up.”
I tossed in materials and placed a pile of Adaptation Potions onto the deck.
“…………”
“There are about 100 bottles for now.”
“Ah, um… ten would have sufficed.”
“Oh really? Then take as many as you like.”
“…Amazing. Even our royal court alchemist cannot make magic medicine this quickly. Who… is she…?”
Brockes muttered something.
Well, whatever.
“You’re not taking them?”
“Ah, sorry. About the payment—”
“Huh? Don’t need any.”
“…What? Did I mishear? You don’t want payment? For a medicine that cures seasickness instantly?”
“Yep. It’s no effort to make and materials are practically free.”
Before, Magic Water cost enormous resources to produce.
But now with Sui, the most expensive part is free and unlimited.
So I don’t need money.
“Oh… to give medicine freely to those in trouble. You are very kind.”
“Enough of that. Your subordinates are waiting, right? Go deliver it.”
“Thank you! I will properly come to thank you later, so please tell me your room number.”
Since Fotiatuyah is far, we’d be staying on the ship several days.
I didn’t really care about thanks, but he insisted, so I gave the room number.
“Still, who was that handsome guy?”
“…I have seen him somewhere.”
“Oh Zenith-chan, where? Recently?”
“…It was when I was still a princess, so long ago.”
Hmm, that made me even more curious who that desert elf really was.
