Phylite and the others, the members of the Saintess-Chasing Squad, continued pursuing Seyi.
They had been trapped in the treasure vault, just as they were about to be suffocated by the gold dust.
At that moment, a beautiful woman with rainbow-colored hair appeared, saved them, and introduced herself as Nicholas Flamel.
“…Nicholas Flamel. Seyi-sama’s master, right?”
The elf slave Zenith asked that.
Flamel smiled brightly, crouched down, and said this.
“Beautiful young lady. Would you care to join my harem members?”
“……………………………………………………Huh?”
Zenith was bewildered by the suddenness of it.
It seemed everyone gathered here felt the same way.
Seyi’s master, Flamel, said with a smile.
“I do so like beautiful, fragile young girls such as yourself♡”
“…Huh? Um, what…?”
Zenith was confused without understanding anything.
“U-um, um… M-Master?”
“Ohh! And here is another adorable girl who is exactly my type!”
Flamel took Daphne’s hand and said,
“Won’t you come with me? Hmm? I guarantee you a life wanting for nothing♡”
“D-Daphne…! This is a dangerous person, de gozaru!”
The Fire Drakekin slave Toka stepped forward as if to shield Daphne.
“My, my, you are quite beautiful yourself… but a little too big. After all, women are better when they are small. Especially girls under twelve are my strike zone.”
“““A-a pervert…! An outrageous pervert…!”””
The group could only be bewildered by this utterly unexpected kind of person.
“…To think the great Nicholas Flamel-sama would be a woman-loving perverted lolicon.”
“What are you saying, young lady! I am not a pervert! I am a gentleman known by the name of pervert!”
“…I cannot comprehend this.”
The slaves backed away. The adults as well heightened their wariness toward the eccentric who had appeared out of nowhere.
Bols signaled to Phylite with his eyes.
Apparently, the plan was to get her attention while they escaped.
Though they were only fellow travelers by chance, they believed that as adults, they had a duty to protect the children.
“Hey, lady, we’re grateful you saved us… but who exactly are you?”
Bols thrust a hand into his pocket and gripped his gun.
But…
“Hmm… mm! This is… Seyi! The mana of my beloved disciple!”
“!?”
Bols was stunned.
Until just now, Flamel had definitely been standing right in front of Bols.
But before he realized it, she had vanished from before his eyes.
Before the slaves, who had been trying to sneak out of the room, she had appeared at some point and leaned her face close.
“I can tell, this is the mana of potions made by Seyi! Their lingering traces! Which means you lot are related to Seyi! Wahaha! How nostalgic! Where is that girl now?”
“Hey, lady, if you don’t cut it out already…”
Bols was stunned when he tried to pull the handgun from his pocket.
“!? H-Hey…! My handgun…”
“This thing?”
Before anyone knew it, Bols’s handgun was in Flamel’s hand.
Tension ran through everyone.
No one could understand what she had done.
“Hmm, is this not a gun I made? Why does a punk like you have it? Ahh, so Marik mass-produced them. I see… that child was skillful with his hands as well.”
“…Marik?”
Zenith asked that.
Everyone was bewildered. They were trying to keep her talking for even a little longer, to buy time and prepare themselves.
“An apostle… ahh, one of my disciples. He called himself The Second Apostle, or something of the sort.”
An apostle. In other words, was she saying that, just like Seyi, one of Flamel’s disciples had made the prototype of the gun?
“But still, it is not enough.”
With a click, Flamel raised the gun.
Its barrel was pointed at Bols.
He tried to assume a combat stance.
But… he could not move. It was not because of fear.
The orders from his brain would not reach his body.
His body simply would not obey him.
“Bols…!”
Bang…!!!!
The bullet was fired.
It was not toward Bols’s face… but right beside it.
It had shot through the head of a golem that had suddenly appeared.
“It seems to be a golem that guards the treasure vault.”
Countless golems had appeared, looking as though the gold dust had hardened into humanoid form.
Even the golems that Phylite had supposedly shot dead turned into gold dust once, yet revived again.
“…If they are using this gold dust as raw material, this is bad. If we stay in this room, where there is a huge amount of raw material, enemies will keep spawning forever!”
“Hmm, that beautiful elf young lady there is correct… however.”
Snap, Flamel clicked her fingers.
The next instant… the countless golems vanished.
Not just the golems.
Everything there, including the gold and silver treasure, had disappeared.
“What the hell… what just happened…?”
“! Bols-dono! Everyone… is gone!”
“What!?”
The only ones left there were Bols, Brockes, and Ufhcok.
“Y-you bastard…! Where did you send Phylite and the others!?”
Bols tried to throw a punch, but the next moment he had fallen over pathetically.
Looking down coldly at him, Flamel said,
“I shall safely send the girls to the surface. This place is dangerous, after all.”
Apparently, this woman had sent Phylite and the others somewhere else.
But Bols did not trust Flamel enough to take those words at face value.
“Don’t screw with me! Who the hell would believe that!?”
“Hmm, still, before going outside, I would like to greet Seyi with a word or two.”
“Listen to me! Hear what I’m saying…!”
But by the time Bols stood up and tried to strike her, Flamel had already vanished from the room.
Brockes and Ufhcok were bewildered as well.
“B-Bols-dono… what should we do?”
“Isn’t it obvious! We save those girls…!”
“B-but… how…?”
Bols thought for a moment, then said to Ufhcok,
“Hey, you. You can track Saintess-sama’s presence, right?”
“…Yeah, no problem.”
“Then you can track the slave girls’ presence too, right!? That old hag said Saintess-sama’s mana still lingers on them!”
“…I see! If we follow the lingering traces of mana!”
Ufhcok nodded and pointed to the hole Flamel had opened.
They hurried off in pursuit of Flamel, who had taken Phylite and the others away.
