Seyi cleared the dungeon and was reunited with her master, Nicholas Flamel…

This story takes place two days later.

“Ugh… huh! W-where am I!?”

When the adventurer Bols woke up, he found himself in a luxurious room he had never seen before.

He was bewildered by the Arabian-style bedroom interior when…

“…So you’re awake, Bols.”

“Ufhcok…!”

The beautiful Holy Knight Ufhcok was standing quietly nearby.

“Wh-what the hell… happened to me…?”

“…You lost consciousness from the shock of the explosion. For two whole days.”

“The explosion… right! What about Phylite!?”

Phylite, Bols’s lover and an S-rank adventurer.

That mysterious rainbow-haired woman (Flamel) had taken his lover away.

In the middle of pursuing them, he had suddenly been teleported outside… or so he thought, only to be teleported somewhere else again, leading to the present.

Ufhcok grabbed Bols by the shoulder as he tried to stand.

“…Wait a moment. Your woman is safe.”

“What did you say!? Where is she!?”

He looked ready to demand to be taken to her immediately.

Ufhcok let out a breath, then led him outside…

Spread out before them was the beautiful cityscape of Fotiatuyah.

That murderous heat had now subsided, and it had returned to being the tourist city it once was.

And right in the middle of the royal capital…

“Wh-what the hell is this…!?”

At the place where the dungeon had once stood, a gigantic bronze statue had been erected.

It was of a woman with long hair, so beautiful it was almost unbelievable.

“…Apparently it is a statue of the Black-Haired Saintess-sama, the hero who saved the nation.”

“The hero who saved the nation…?”

And that was when it happened.

“Ohh! Sir Bols! So you have awakened!”

“Aren’t you the prince of Fotiatuyah…?”

Prince Brockes came over toward them, waving cheerfully.

And in his hand… he was carrying a huge stack of flyers.

“Ahh, that is wonderful! I was worried you might never wake up!”

“Yeah, well, thanks… but what is with this statue?”

“Ohh! I am so glad you asked! It is a statue honoring Lady Seyi Falt, the Black-Haired Saintess and savior of our nation! I had the court alchemists make it in a great hurry!”

Bols felt that the prince’s eyes looked like someone else’s.

Ufhcok gave his shoulder a little pat.

“…The same eyes as your woman.”

“Ah, ahh… right. A believer’s eyes.”

But something was strange.

Ufhcok herself used to look at Seyi with those same eyes… the eyes of a believer.

But now, her eyes looked normal.

Before Bols could question that change, Brockes started speaking all on his own.

“Please have a look at this flyer! It summarizes the great deeds of the Saintess-sama!”

The Saintess-sama conquered the dungeon that appeared in Fotiatuyah

As a result, the scorching inferno came to an end

Furthermore, she protected the city and its people from the Demon God’s final explosion

“The Demon God’s… final explosion?”

“Yes! From what I heard, it seems the Flame Demon God somehow tenaciously survived even after the dungeon was conquered! And then, like a final dying gasp, it caused a massive explosion!”

That was false. In truth, it was only the robot made by Flamel firing a rocket launcher.

However, among people who did not know the circumstances the grudge involved, the Demon God was believed to have still been alive.

Well, it had been a bombardment vast enough to engulf the royal capital.

He could understand why people would want to connect it to the Flame Demon God’s doing.

“Lady Seyi teleported us away from the fiend’s final flames and protected us. And not only that! She also restored the royal capital, which had been blasted to pieces, in a single instant! Free of charge! What an incredibly kind heart!”

“B-blasted to pieces…? Aren’t you casually saying something completely insane!?”

There was a misunderstanding there too.

It was true that Seyi protected the townspeople and repaired the ruined city.

But that was not out of kindness or anything of the sort.

If a huge number of people died and the city was destroyed because of the rampage of her own master and her own robot… that would leave far too bitter a taste.

Even if it were not directly her fault.

So rather than saying she protected all the townspeople, it was more that she evacuated them and repaired the damage so that those two idiots would not cause trouble.

And afterward, so that she would not be blamed for it… well, in short, it was for self-preservation.

The townspeople, unaware of that, turned it into a heartwarming tale about how she had saved the city from an evil Demon God.

Largely thanks to Phylite, and to this Brockes.

“Our country intends to erect statues of the Saintess-sama and pass on her greatness for all eternity!”

“O-oh… is that so…”

Seeing how deeply immersed he was in all this, Bols was honestly pretty creeped out.

What did he mean, for all eternity…?

And beside him, Ufhcok nodded along solemnly.

“Could it be that seeing how insane this crazy guy is… is what snapped you out of it?”

“…Yeah. I had lost my mind too.”

Truly, seeing others was a lesson in correcting oneself.

Ufhcok had been completely put off by the prince’s abnormal behavior and returned to her senses.

She used to be a Saintess believer too, but…

“…Whether all of it is true or not, it is a fact that the Saintess-sama saved the city, so I do acknowledge that. I think she is amazing.”

“But it did stop short of turning into excessive worship.”

“…Yeah.”

Now then, as for Phylite…

“And that was when the Saintess-sama protected everyone from the bombardment!”

She was describing the details of the bombardment incident to the children of the city.

Back then, Ufhcok and Phylite had also been taken outside together with the slaves.

They should have witnessed everything from beginning to end, and yet it had still been turned into a beautiful tale.

Apparently this absurd level of abnormality had also become one of the reasons Ufhcok snapped back to her senses.

Bols let out a huge sigh of relief, deeply reassured that his lover was safe.

“Well, whatever the case… I’m just really glad you’re okay…”
