We were visiting the deserted island that served as one of Master’s workshops.

That night, after we had a barbecue on the beach during the day.

“Hmmm…”

I was alone on the beach at night.

I was staring out at the sea, wondering what to do, when—

“Master.”

Flap—something settled over me: a cardigan.

When I turned around, my robot, Cherge, was standing there.

“It gets cold at night.”

…So she had brought me a cardigan so I would not catch a cold.

Somehow, that threw me off…

The girl who always gave me cool-headed robot retorts and the girl who cared about my physical well-being like this just did not feel like the same person.

“How thoughtful of you.”

“It is my duty to take care of you, Master.”

“I’ve never actually had you take care of me in any real way, though?”

“I just did.”

“Oh, is that so? Well then, thank you very much.”

As I walked along the shoreline, she followed a little ways behind me.

“Quit following me.”

“If you got lost, the slaves would be troubled.”

“And you?”

“Naturally, so would I.”

“Huh…”

That was a surprisingly humble attitude, wasn’t it?

What had gotten into her…?

“Master.”

Cherge suddenly wrapped her arms around me from behind.

Huh? What was this all of a sudden…?

“Master… Master…”

“H-hey… Cherge? Wait a second!”

And just like that, Cherge pushed me down!

Wha, wha, what the hell was this!

Cherge, her face bright red, had pushed me to the ground.

Right in front of me was the refined face of the maid.

One of her eyes was hidden by her bangs, but I could tell that the visible eye was wet.

“Don’t… leave me behind.”

“Huh? Leave you behind…?”

“…Pretending not to know is useless. You received a request from that damn parent, didn’t you?”

…So this maid had noticed.

I had tried to be careful so she would not find out.

“…That kindness hurts. Please rely on me more. Like you did the other day.”

“Well, yeah, but…”

“Master… I, I…”

Cherge slowly brought her face closer.

Wait, h-hey! Hold on! Wait, so… huh? Is that what this is!?

No, I really do not want my first time to be with a robot…! Not that I have any guy I like or anything, but still…!

“W-wait!”

“…………”

“I’m a girl too, you know, so for my first time… Cherge?”

Her red face rapidly turned pale.

Cold sweat, unfocused eyes… wait, no way!

“Ugh… I… already… hit my… limit…”

“You’re drunk! Hold it in!”

“Can’t… anymore… bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!”

Fugyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

…A little while later.

“I’m sorry, Master.”

Cherge and I were sitting side by side, gazing out at the sea.

This stupid robot had thrown up everything she drank.

…I had almost gotten vomit splashed right in my face.

I managed to turn my head away at the last second, so I avoided the direct hit, but… some got in my hair.

Well, whatever.

“So that was your first time drinking alcohol since upgrading to that human body.”

“Yes… so this is what bad drunkenness feels like. But thanks to your medicine, I recovered instantly. It’s amazing.”

She had looked sick from drinking too much, so I hastily made some anti-nausea medicine and had her drink it, which turned her right back into her usual maid self.

“Whatever. Why did you drink so much, anyway?”

“…Because you always make decisions on your own, Master.”

Cherge rested her head on my shoulder.

It did not bother me enough to push her away, so I let her stay like that.

“Well, that’s fine, isn’t it? It’s my journey.”

“Am I not needed as your companion?”

“Hm… but this request seems pretty dangerous.”

“All the more reason. Please rely on me.”

I had thought I was being considerate, but apparently she had not liked that.

The heart of a robot was beyond me.

“Please rely on me.”

“Fine, fine, I get it. Don’t lean your face in so close.”

Because it made me think she was going to kiss me again.

Not that I was embarrassed or anything.

“Then once the slave girls wake up tomorrow, we’re leaving. And of course, you’re coming too.”

Cherge… smiled.

She did not have an emotion engine installed, but after being upgraded into a human, maybe she had become capable of emotional expressions on the same level as a real person.

Just like Daphne-chan said, well… I thought it was a little cute.

“By the way, Master. Where are we headed?”

I pointed at the sea in the night.

“Under the sea.”
