After receiving the sword from Reberto, I immediately produced Wind magic.

I released the Wind magic and placed the sword into it. With a sharp sound, the blade was being worked.

“…Your Wind magic’s level is high too. It’s precisely because all your magic is at a high standard that better smithing can be done.”

“…I’ve had some training, after all.”

I applied an Enchantment to the finished-polished sword as the final touch.

For the Enchantment, I basically used the sword Reberto had brought.

However, there were partial issues, and above all, it needed to be processed for Eirea Magic Ore.

I wrote the runes quickly with mana, but even so it took a fair amount of time.

When I looked outside, before I knew it night had fallen.

I checked the completed program, channeled mana into the sword, and gave it a light swing.

There didn’t seem to be any issues.

I handed the sword to Reberto, who had been watching this work the whole time.

“How is it?”

“…I’ll swing it a bit.”

He then swung the sword. The sound of cutting through the air was pleasant to the ears.

Next, Reberto infused mana into it and swung the sword.

The trail of his blade looked beautiful in the dim room.

“…Perfect. It doesn’t just fit the hand well. The magical data is written in so meticulously… the only flaw might be that it’s so complex I couldn’t repair it on my own, perhaps.”

“My bad. Thanks to the Eirea Magic Ore, I think it probably won’t need repairs for about a month or two, but if anything happens bring it back.”

“…Ah, ah, understood. Then, I’ll pay the reward.”

Saying that, he handed me an item box.

I took it and checked the money inside.

“You can take the whole item box. It’ll amount to a fair sum of money.”

“…Huh?”

Weapons made with Eirea Magic Ore are priced very high. You should be prepared for around ten million gold for a single blade.

However, in this case he brought all the materials himself.

Considering only the labor for processing, and given the scarcity of skilled craftsmen, it’d be about three million gold.

Thinking that, I opened the item box and found five million gold inside.

“N-no, this is too much!”

“No, no, I met a good technician and asked them, so this much is only natural. This Eirea Magic Ore sword can even stand up to those lousy Esrea Magic Ore swords around here.”

“I- I know, but still…”

Including the item box, this is quite valuable!

I thought at least I should return the item box, but he refused even that.

“I want us to continue having a working relationship as a swordsman and blacksmith. Think of this as an advance payment, will you?”

He winked as he asked, and I gave a wry smile in response.

“Even if you ask for it back later, I won’t return it, you know?”

“I wouldn’t be that petty.”

After saying that, he bowed gracefully. It was a polite, neat bow befitting a noble.

“Thank you for crafting such a sword. I will become a swordsman worthy of it. Call on me whenever you need my strength. If anything comes up, I’ll be at your side.”

“…Yes, I understand. Thanks.”

Reberto smiled warmly.

…I’m glad I was able to make a sword that would satisfy him.

I let out a relieved sigh.
