“Haa… haa…”

Reet’s blade shattered his father’s sword.

After struggling desperately, he had finally seized victory.

But as a result, Reet had cut down his own father.

Bleeding and collapsed on the ground, his father lay before him. Reet slowly walked toward him.

“Why… surely not here…”

The last emotion his father displayed was a mixture of regret and hatred.

Even in his final moments, he could not bring himself to feel love for his son.

Looking at such a father, Reet could only feel pity.

“You could only prove your strength by demeaning others. That is all you were capable of, Father. Nothing more.”

Hearing those words, his father hurled a gaze of hatred toward Reet.

“I, who am… defeated by the likes of you…”

With those final words of hatred, Duke Ride Welzley closed his eyes.

“…Reet!”

Company Commander Ursu and Larg rushed to Reet’s side.

Seeing the Duke’s corpse, Ursu took a single breath.

“You defeated him?”

“Yes.”

Reet answered curtly.

Ursu approached Reet and placed a hand on his shoulder.

“You did well.”

With those words, Ursu was telling him that killing his own father was never a mistake.
