Vim shifted his gaze behind the Vice-Captain. There stood the knights, their forms battered and worn. While most seemed to have sustained only minor injuries, a few appeared to be in critical condition.

“I’ll go ahead and treat them,” Vim said, beginning the preparations to deploy his magic.

“Area Heal.”

Upon his chant, a massive, lime-green magic circle manifested on the ground. In an instant, it began mending the knights’ wounds. As the name implied, Area Heal is a restorative spell that affects everyone within a specific radius. Unlike a standard Heal, which can only be cast on one person at a time, this allows for the simultaneous treatment of a large group.

However, this is not a spell just anyone can use. First and foremost, the amount of mana consumed is immense; possessing a vast reservoir of magical energy is a strict prerequisite.

“Th-that was Area Heal, wasn’t it?” The Vice-Captain’s expression turned to one of pure shock.

“It was. It’s more efficient to do it all at once like this,” Vim replied.

“So an S-rank mage has reached such heights… I am truly impressed,” the Vice-Captain remarked, sounding deeply moved.

“Thank you. We’ll be heading back to town now.”

By that time, the mana density in the forest had fully returned to its normal state.

“You have been a true lifesaver. Let us meet again somewhere.”

“Yes, I look forward to it.”

After shaking hands with the Vice-Captain, Vim began walking to exit the forest. They encountered several more magical beasts on their way out, but they were turned to dust before Vim’s magic and Hana’s swordsmanship.

“Well then, let’s get back to town and file the report.”

They were required to report back to the Baron Guild Branch first. Once they cleared the treeline, Vim and Hana started the trek toward the city. After a few dozen minutes of walking, they arrived back at Baron.

While there is a formal inspection at the gate, presenting the card with the royal crest allowed them to pass through without stopping. Vim was starting to realize just how incredible this privilege was. Being able to bypass every checkpoint resulted in a significant amount of saved time.

“Let’s finish the report first.”

“Yes, let’s do that.”

Upon entering the town, they headed straight for the Guild Branch located near the center of the city. Baron was a fairly lively place, and Vim personally found it quite charming. Above all, the expressions on the residents’ faces were vibrant; there were no signs of people suffering under the weight of heavy taxes.

This was something that would have been unthinkable during his time in the Empire. It was likely all thanks to the King of Leoria that this society functioned so well. There are surprisingly few countries that truly recognize hard work, but here, an evaluation system existed where those who put in the effort were actually rewarded.

Vim thought it was a magnificent system. Because people were judged fairly, talented individuals flocked to the nation. That was how the country had continued to prosper.

After walking through the streets for a while, they reached the Guild Branch. As they pushed open the heavy doors and stepped inside, all eyes briefly turned toward them. Slowly but surely, Vim’s presence was becoming a famous one.

“I’d like to see the Branch Manager,” Vim said to the receptionist at the general counter.

“Certainly. May I have your name, please?”

“Vim Abel.”

The moment he spoke, the receptionist’s expression shifted instantly.

“U-understood! I will go check with him immediately!”

The receptionist placed an “Away from Desk” sign down and hurried toward the back of the building.
