“Lord Vim, who is she?” Hana asked timidly.
“Apparently, she’s the Spirit King of Light.”
“Th-The Spirit King of Light?!” Hana and Misa shouted at the same time.
“So you can see Diana, then.”
Normally, spirits are invisible to ordinary people.
“That is because I am a supreme spirit,” Diana chimed in.
“I see.”
It seems that high-ranking spirits take human form and can be seen by anyone with a certain level of mana or power.
“Don’t tell me you formed a contract with her?”
“Yeah, I did. Contracting with a spirit will probably give me more techniques to use.”
“Right… I’m going to stop being surprised now,” Misa said with a sigh of resignation.
“Well, I have something I want to work on, so I’m heading back inside.”
“Master, I shall accompany you.”
Apparently, contracted spirits prefer not to be away from their master’s side if they can help it.
“Sure, I don’t mind.”
Returning to the mansion, Vim secluded himself in the study as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
He reached inside his magic bag and pulled out several blue magic stones.
“Ho, those are quite high-grade magic stones,” Diana remarked, peering over his shoulder.
“Yeah. I personally handpicked and bought them, after all.”
What Vim was about to make was a miniaturized communication stone.
He already understood the mechanism behind communication stones, so all that was left was to shrink the design—though that required high-quality magic stones.
“Master, is there truly nothing you cannot do?”
“Well, this barely falls within the realm of sorcery.”
He started working shortly after noon, and before he realized it, the sky outside the window was turning a deep crimson.
It seemed he had been so absorbed in his work that he forgot to eat.
“With this, it’s pretty much done. Now I just need to set them in place.”
To make them easy to carry, Vim prepared three types: an earring, a necklace, and a bracelet.
“Are only three enough?”
“Yeah, for now. Besides, you and I can communicate telepathically anyway, right?”
“Hmm, that is true.”
It was possible to communicate with a contracted spirit even from a distance.
Thus, the ones he made today were for Hana, Misa, and himself.
He planned to make more for the King and his servants once he had some free time.
After testing the devices, it was about time for dinner.
Vim took the finished communication devices and headed to the living room.
“Hey everyone, do you have a quick second?”
Hana and Misa were already chatting on the sofa, so he called out to them.
“Yes, of course.”
The two responded to Vim’s voice.
“Actually, I made these.”
“Are these… communication stones?” Misa asked, looking at the items placed on the table.
“That’s right. To be exact, they’re miniaturized communication stones made for practical use.”
“Is something like that really possible…?”
“Yeah, it was theoretically possible, so I gave it a shot. I made a necklace for Hana and earrings for Misa.”
Hana always wore a necklace, and Misa always wore earrings.
He had tailored the designs to suit their individual tastes.
“You really pay close attention to us, don’t you?”
“Of course I do. We’re always together, after all.”
Hana’s face turned slightly red.
“Try them on. They’re a gift from me.”
“Thank you very much.”
With that, Misa took off her current earrings and put on the new magic stone ones.
Hana put on her necklace in the same way.
Then, Vim attached the bracelet-type magic stone to his left wrist.
“To use it, just picture sending a tiny bit of mana into it. Right now, it’s set up to connect only between the three of us.”
When they channeled their mana, the magic stones began to glow blue.
“Ah— testing, testing…”
“Amazing, I can hear your voice, Vim!”
“It really works…”
Hana and Misa were deeply impressed.
“I thought having these would come in handy for a lot of things. Let’s make good use of them from now on.”
“Yes! I’ll treasure it.”
With satisfied expressions on their faces, the two smiled happily.
