“Ufufu, as expected of Prince Arthur.”

Morgan’s lips curled into a smile as she read the report from the orphanage. According to the priest’s letter, under Arthur’s orders, two highly capable maids had been assigned to teach the children.

“You seem pleased, Lady Morgan.”

“Yes. Prince Arthur is truly impressive. Thanks to him, the orphanage children’s academic level will improve. This is an action that will change the future.”

“I see… but will improving the education of a single orphanage really change anything?”

Morgan’s subordinate looked puzzled, but Morgan responded with a proud smile as though this was about herself.

“It will change everything. First of all, royalty providing education to commoners is nearly unheard of in all of Brittan’s long history. And not only that, Arthur didn’t just provide education—he deliberately sent his own maids. No noble lady has ever deigned to teach commoners. And on top of that, he used his healing magic at the orphanage. Do you realize what that means?”

“Well… but weren’t you opposed to Prince Arthur healing people as he pleased?”

The subordinate hesitated, clearly uncertain, but Morgan just smiled knowingly.

“Yes, I would have objected if it were indiscriminate healing. But this is different. He didn’t just heal anyone—he healed a commoner child at an orphanage that bears his own name.”

The subordinate gasped in realization.

“In other words, Prince Arthur showed that even commoners can be treated with his precious healing magic—as long as they’re on his side! The education part was a message as well, wasn’t it!?”

“Exactly. He showed through action that being his ally transcends social rank. Merchants and commoners will begin rallying to support him.”

Morgan nodded, satisfied. Of course, this was all a complete misunderstanding—and he had also healed Kei for a small burn—but unaware of these facts, she and her subordinate continued excitedly.

“Thanks to this event, nobles who want to win his favor have started making donations to the ‘Arthur Orphanage.’ If this continues, some nobles might even consider hiring commoners. Everyone is desperate to curry his favor.”

That’s how precious and powerful Arthur’s healing magic was. Until now, it was monopolized by his hangers-on. But the moment he healed a commoner, everything changed.

Now, even nobles might start thinking. If they became his ally, maybe he’d heal them too.

“But wouldn’t the nobles who used to surround him be angered by this?”

“Exactly why he exposed Greed’s crimes at that timing. The more guilty nobles will prioritize covering up their tracks… and I’ve already had the intelligence division surface reports of their abuse of commoners. They’ll have their hands full putting out fires for a while.”

“Of course… if Lord Arthur is now openly siding with commoners, those nobles will panic if their own misdeeds come to light.”

“Indeed. And this only worked because of how Lord Arthur has positioned himself until now.”

Arthur’s standing was unique. He possessed incredible healing power, yet remained politically uninvolved. He only healed people when asked by other nobles, never of his own initiative—as though he had no will of his own.

In short, he had been treated like a tool. But that meant he wasn’t aligned with any particular faction. As long as he said, “I healed them because I was asked to,” he’d be free of blame.

Most likely, the nobles had believed they were using a naïve prince for their own ends. But Arthur deliberately maintained that image and acted only once his power had become widely recognized.

Thanks to this, one of the major issues troubling Morgan—the widening class divide between nobles and commoners—was now beginning to close.

Truly incredible, Prince Arthur…

Her mind leaping to conclusions, Morgan’s admiration grew to near-religious fervor.

“Still, those nobles are excellent at self-preservation. They’ll soon put out the fires and come crawling back to Lord Arthur… I need to act before that happens.”

His former noble entourage wasn’t incompetent. Even Morgan could be outmaneuvered politically if she wasn’t careful.

Maybe Lord Arthur could even turn that situation to his advantage…

“But still… before those nobles regain their strength, we’ll need some kind of alliance. Without support from a noble house or two, even Lord Arthur could find himself constrained. Lord Agravain, who sympathizes with commoners, has thrown his support behind Lady Mordred as heir…”

“That’s right…”

It would’ve been ideal if Lord Agravain, known for his popularity with the commoners, supported Arthur. But he had rejected them outright.

Perhaps it was due to loyalty to Mordred. Or perhaps, ever since learning that Arthur possessed healing powers, he had begun avoiding him entirely.

“Our family alone can’t take on the great noble houses… and the church remains strictly neutral…”

At those words, even Morgan held her head in her hands. In this world, healing powers were highly revered, and the church, being separate from the government, wielded immense influence.

And the church made a point of staying out of power struggles. If only they could somehow get them on their side…

“If only the Saint and Lord Arthur could get along…”

If the Saint—known as the Church’s greatest healer—spoke on Arthur’s behalf, the church might listen. But how to make that happen was unclear.

Just as Morgan and her subordinate sat groaning together in thought—there was a knock.

It was the infamous Arthur.

“Sorry to bother you… I’m supposed to have a luncheon with the Saint soon. Could you arrange the carriage for me?”

“Eh… As expected of you, Prince Arthur!!”

“This is the Prince’s foresight at work—how amazing!!”

“…Huh?”

Arthur could only blink blankly as Morgan and her aide celebrated… over a mere carriage request.
