Once our break ended, it was time to get back to goblin hunting.
First, Gina took down our usual familiar face, a Goblin Ranger, after I made it trip with Slip.
“Shall we wait here as we’ve been doing?”
Gina checked with me every single time, likely because someone like me now had the option to push forward without waiting.
“Yeah.”
The risks were still too high, so we would keep waiting here.
We weren’t doing it just yet, but once things settled down, I figured I should probably test out the exact timing for how my magic power regenerated.
I should do that at least once before we completely clear the Shoisa Cave.
Two Goblin Rangers showed up, so the two of us split the targets.
“Thunder.”
As for goblins, it seemed they could be wiped out with a single cast of Thunder.Kobolds were definitely stronger, after all.
The items dropped by the pair were Goblin Caps.
Since those wouldn’t do us any good even if we held onto them, it was straight to the selling pile.
After a short wait, an ordinary goblin appeared all by itself, and the moment it fell over from another cast of Slip, Gina delivered the finishing blow.
“Master, a Goblin Sword dropped.”
“Sell it.”
“Understood.”
The Goblin Sword wasn’t anything we needed, either.
Having used Slip twice and Thunder once, my remaining magic power was 2, which was just enough for one more Slip.
To launch an aggressive push while chugging down potions, it seemed best to wait until I reached level 5.
After waiting a little longer, a goblin, a Goblin Ranger, and a Goblin Warrior wielding a spear made their appearance.
According to the lore, Goblin Warriors were higher-ups in the pack and frequently served as a boss’s aides, so things were getting pretty dangerous now.
“Once we take these down, we’re withdrawing. Gina, target the Goblin Warrior first.”
I gave instructions for her to deal with the strongest enemy right off the bat.
“Yes.”
Immediately after, Gina leaped forward and charged straight at the Goblin Warrior.
“Slip.”
I cast my magic in front of the goblin and the Goblin Ranger.
The goblin readied itself to target me, while the Goblin Ranger notched its bow to aim at Gina.
And seeing the Goblin Warrior taken down by her in a single strike, the others froze in absolute shock.
Not letting that opening slip by, Gina pounced on the Goblin Ranger and slashed its throat.
Fast, and strong.
Without missing a beat, Gina plunged her dagger into the goblin that had tripped over my Slip, finishing it off instantly.
Her strength was enough to make me momentarily hallucinate that maybe it would be safe to head down to the second floor as long as I had her with me.
The issue was that she couldn’t protect me against an overwhelming horde of goblins all by herself—meaning the real problem was me.
If it were just Gina, she could probably clear the area solo as long as she had enough recovery items.
Thanks to the presence of the Goblin Warrior among the enemies, my level had gone up to 4.
Just a little more to go.
