Ever since then, once she got the hang of it and unlocked the achievement of exchanging greetings, Kotori was able to greet Toba without any problems.

Her relationship with him seemed to be going well too.

Having exchanged contact info, she apparently received silly text messages accompanied by photos a few times—like 《Took a picture of a super pretty sunset!》, 《The rumored crazy spicy dish at the beef bowl chain I stopped by after school was seriously spicy!》, and 《I borrowed the original shojo manga of that movie everyone’s talking about from my little sister and cried my eyes out!》.

(Incidentally, Kotori didn’t know how to reply, so she either gave blunt responses like 《Huh》 or 《I see》, or left the messages on read without knowing how to respond.)

Also, even if only once so far, Kotori had even succeeded in greeting him first with a “Morning.” Moreover, she hadn’t performed the routine beforehand. For Kotori, it was an earth-shattering feat. Watching Kotori take a step up the ladder of maturity right before his eyes, Takumi cheered in his heart while simultaneously feeling a wave of impatience, as if being left behind.

Incidentally, on that day, while putting up her usual facade of an aloof ice princess on the outside, Kotori frequently sent excited messages during class like 《I was super nervous!》, 《I said it right, didn’t I?!》, and 《I can’t believe I managed to say it first!》. She was probably walking on air. After school, they celebrated together in her room with cheesecake bought from Goldfish Mall.

And so came the morning of the day duty itself.

Partly because Kotori’s parents were away on a business trip starting the day before, Takumi visited her room quite early that morning. Naturally, it was to do the routine just to be safe.

Having finished a routine that took longer than usual, a tense, prickling atmosphere filled the room.

As Kotori pulled up her underwear, she tentatively asked a question in a voice laced with confusion, unlike her usual demeanor.

“Takumi… today, um… did it not… feel good for you?”

“Eh?”

Addressed with such unexpected words, Takumi turned wide, round eyes toward Kotori.

Then Kotori quickly looked away, explaining her reasoning as her downturned eyelashes trembled.

“I mean, the way you moved was different from usual…”

Indeed, just as Kotori said, he had actually moved differently this time because he had something on his mind.

Seeing Kotori look bewildered, Takumi asked timidly, wondering if his intention had missed the mark.

“That’s… I changed things up today because I had a few thoughts on my mind, but… was it, well, just painful…?”

“N-No, it wasn’t that. Unlike before, it felt too good, so I was troub… ah.”

“…I see, so it felt good. That’s a relief then.”

This time, instead of just a monotonous and rough performance solely aimed at getting him to climax, he had varied the pacing, incorporated rotational movements, and altered the points of stimulation.

Since it was all hasty knowledge looked up on the internet, he had been anxious, but seeing that he had properly made Kotori feel good, he breathed a sigh of relief while a quiet confidence welled up within him.

For Kotori, the sole purpose of the routine was simply to make Takumi climax, so her reaction was usually indifferent. As a result, Takumi never knew whether she enjoyed it or not, nor had he ever asked.

However, the reason he decided to make Kotori feel good this time stemmed from when she had asked for the routine at school the other day and he couldn’t deliver. Takumi had wanted to wipe away his miserable self from back then.

Meanwhile, having accidentally let her true feelings slip, Kotori’s face flushed bright red with a pop, and she let out a speechless cry while throwing the cushion—the one she usually buried her face in during the routine—straight at him.

“~~~~gh, Takumi, you idiot!”

“Whoa, okay, I said I’m sorry!”

Looking closely, Kotori’s cheeks were flushed and beads of sweat lined her forehead. As proof that she had genuinely enjoyed it, a smirk involuntarily crept onto his face.

And having displeased Kotori, Takumi raised both hands in surrender while beating a hasty retreat from her room.
