It was a week later that Isaac contacted her again.

As she was shut inside the special classroom as usual, a small bird fluttered in from nowhere. Right before her eyes it transformed into a letter. The blue wax seal bore the First Prince’s signet ring, making it clear it was from Isaac.

After reading the letter while still standing, Cordelia immediately turned on her heel.

“Lily! Prepare for an urgent return home. It seems we must go to the royal palace at once.”

The letter said that “the more he spoke, the more stubborn the Holy Maiden became,” and that “even his father the king had been dragged into the matter.” Apparently, the king himself had summoned Cordelia because he wished to arrange a meeting to talk things over.

(I had a feeling it might come to this…)

While changing clothes, she remembered her previous life.

There had once been a time when Hina failed to obtain something she wanted. The sight of her rampaging while emitting an aura of fury from her entire body made even a raging bull look adorable in comparison. Having always obtained everything she wanted until then, she likely could not tolerate her wish going unfulfilled.

(If I recall correctly… she was ten years old? Hina suddenly insisted she wanted to be driven to school every day in an ultra-luxury car with a chauffeur.)

Hina’s family had been relatively well-off, and she had already been given more than enough high-end items—brand-name children’s clothes and even a piano—from Kana’s perspective, but apparently a chauffeur-driven luxury car was a different matter.

Kana still could not forget the sight of Hina raging in anger when her wish was denied, and the utterly exhausted faces of her uncle and aunt.

So what happened to the incident Kana privately called the “Limousine Uprising”… Hina gave up—on having her wish granted by her parents. Instead, she somehow found an elderly man claiming to be the honorary chairman of a major corporate group (different from the chairman of the company Kana and Hina later joined) and successfully realized a life of luxury car commutes.

(That was practically a talent… When he said, “Won’t you marry my grandson?” he doted on her unbelievably.)

In the end, less than three months later she said she had “gotten bored” and returned to walking to school as if nothing had happened, yet the grandfather’s generous support continued afterward. Additionally, his grandson—the heir—had also launched a fierce courtship.

Thinking back, Hina had been a “grandfather-killer” even then. And now, there was exactly one man who perfectly fit that target age group.

(I just hope His Majesty the King hasn’t lost his composure…)

With that worry in mind, Cordelia hurried home together with Lily and the others.
