“GROOOOOOOOAAARRR!!”
Nadja’s strike flew toward the Gigafauna’s leg.
The blade extended by mana advanced—then stopped midway.
Even that blow had not been enough to sever the Gigafauna’s leg, which was as thick as a log.
But it had clearly dealt heavy damage, as the Gigafauna let out a cry of agony.
“Dense formation… fire!”
This time, I had prepared most of the Wood Golems as Dark Wood Golems.
Punches from normal Wood Golems or Element Wood Golems would never be able to damage the Gigafauna.
So I formed them into small groups of ten and had them perform ranged attacks using the Dark Wood Golems’ Black Projectiles.
We would chip away at it—again and again—until it fell.
This battle also served as a demonstration of just how strong we were.
So I asked the count to let us fight alone until the very last moment.
Wood Golems could be replenished endlessly, but the count had brought true elites—aptitude holders who had trained for years.
We could not afford to lose them in a battle like this.
“—All right, it was working!”
The advantage of Black Projectiles was that they did not explode on impact, but instead activated by shaving away the surrounding space.
So as long as we aimed for the Gigafauna’s large torso, there was no risk of friendly fire.
The Gigafauna possessed powerful magic resistance, but that resistance did not work well against Black Projectiles.
Apparently, since they were pure mana energy, they could slip through that resistance.
“““Nyaa!”””
“““Woof woof!”””
“““Bubu!””””
“““Kyuu!!”””
Next came the attacks of the Tree Guardian Beasts that were granting protection to the Dark Wood Golems.
Unlike Element Wood Golems, they could unleash mid-range elemental attacks.
So they could continue attacking while maintaining distance from the Gigafauna.
“Let’s go, you bastards! Do not fall behind golems and beasts!”
“““UOOOOOOOOOO!!”””
Next, the members of Sandstorm led by Kadin charged toward the Gigafauna holding tube-like objects.
BOOOOOOOOM!!
The Fire Mulberries they scattered all at once triggered a chain explosion.
Then they ignited Fire Marrons and hurriedly retreated.
The moment they gained distance, the Fire Marrons exploded, lifting the Gigafauna’s massive body into the air from the blast.
“Even if magic was less effective, it was not completely useless! We elves will show our power to Lord Woody!”
Then the magic attacks of the elves led by Fana-san exploded forth.
In sync, the Dark Wood Golems’ attacks rained down again, and once they ceased, another round of Sandstorm explosions followed.
“G… Goooo…”
Unable to endure the continuous assault, the Gigafauna collapsed onto the ground.
“This… is the end!”
Nadja slammed a full-powered strike into the fallen Gigafauna’s neck.
And when the light faded…
the Gigafauna had already become a silent corpse.
“…Eh, did we already win?”
When I turned around, I saw the stunned count—and the observing officers pale-faced and sweating coldly behind him—
