Peng Mu-gi was not the type to heed Yu Jinsan’s warning.

He was an absolute powerhouse crowned with the title Blade Emperor, his arrogance piercing the heavens.

But there was one thing he was overlooking.

That this place belonged to the Yin Yang Twin Monster.

Peng Mu-gi’s new body leapt up to clear the wall.

In one bound he landed on the other side and swept his gaze around.

Regrettably, he took the Sword Empress and the Yin Monster for mere household members—he sensed no aura from them, as if they were untrained in martial arts.

He briefly met Yu Jinsan’s eyes but gave the impression of not caring.

“So you’ve been hiding here, Extreme Five. You all die today.”

His gaze fixed on the five Evil factions’ warriors.

But soon a question appeared on his face.

Weren’t they supposed to be terrified? Instead, they looked at him boldly, even radiating ease.

To top it off, they even provoked him.

“What’re you gonna do about it?”

“What does that rat-faced old man think he’s saying?”

“We’ve been holding back all this time, and you think we’re easy pickings? Are you senile?”

It was the rough banter typical of the Evil factions, but the situation felt off.

The Blade Emperor, seasoned by the Central Plains fights, sensed that something was amiss.

How dare the Extreme Five act like this toward him.

They must be relying on some assurance.

His view shifted left again.

The child he had carelessly passed earlier stood with hands clasped behind, eyes steely.

“So you can finally see me properly, can you?”

Peng Mu-gi’s gaze swept over Yu Jinsan’s whole body once more.

Despite being a child, the internal qi was remarkable—he didn’t even avert his eyes.

And there was an air of seasoned maturity about him.

His keen eye was piecing together Yu Jinsan’s true identity.

“…Yang Monster?”

“You do have an eye for it. I warned you’d die if you crossed into our house, remember?”

Yu Jinsan loosened the bones in his neck and both hands.

Crack! Creak!

Blade Emperor Peng Mu-gi—once a legendary master whose gaze no one would dare meet.

But now was different. Yu Jinsan wanted to test his own limits.

At that moment Peng Mu-gi drew his sharp blade diagonally and said,

“Do you think the likes of you can stand against me?”

Yu Jinsan also knew.

That though the Muscle Changing Technique was a formidable art, even at eighty percent mastery it could not handle a Blade Emperor.

Still, he wanted to fight, even briefly.

“You only know length by trying it out.”

Yu Jinsan flicked his foot and a bamboo staff rolling on the floor rose into the air.

He grabbed the bamboo staff, lowered his stance, and assumed a battle posture.

But Peng Mu-gi merely held his blade aloft, making no move, as if he had no intention to fight.

Though full of arrogance, he was not oblivious.

Where there is a Yang Monster, a Yin Monster must also be present.

Finally his pupils shifted and he began to examine Yu Seol closely.

“…Yin Monster?”

She had been in the same spot from the start, but only now did he properly recognize her.

Because she exuded no presence at all—like a small creature that posed no threat.

It would be impossible unless one could perfectly gather and conceal one’s qi.

At that moment the Yin Monster met his gaze, pointed, and shouted.

“Thief?!”

He had trespassed over the wall without permission, but to treat a Blade Emperor as a thief—especially in this situation—was absurd.

He was dumbfounded, but Peng Mu-gi could not respond. His instincts were warning him of danger.

Facing the Yin Monster right before him, he was not confident he could handle her.

And while he hesitated.

“Long time no see, Blade Emperor.”

It was a woman’s voice like rolling jade beads.

Peng Mu-gi hurriedly turned his head the other way.

He was only now realizing her presence.

There stood a woman, like the Yin Monster, giving off no aura.

Her face looked somehow familiar. Once he discerned her identity, Peng Mu-gi’s expression darkened.

“Why is the Sword Empress in here…?”

Soso smiled and gave a small shrug.

Seeing that, Peng Mu-gi was thrown into deep confusion.

He could barely handle the Yin Monster, and now the Sword Empress was here too?

He couldn’t make sense of the situation, but there was no time to ask questions.

“Elder, we must block his escape route before the Blade Emperor flees.”

“He crawled in here without fear; it’s the perfect opportunity.”

The Extreme Five were trying to persuade Yu Jinsan.

Hearing their conversation jolted Peng Mu-gi awake.

If not now, there would be no chance to escape.

Peng Mu-gi had never fled in his life. Though his reputation might be tarnished, it was a hundred times better than dying miserably.

His new body slid toward the wall.

In the blink of an eye Peng Mu-gi was vaulting over the wall.

It was astonishing speed, snatching like a crab’s eye blinks.

The Extreme Five began to pursue him.

“Where do you think you’re running!”

“Stop right there!”

They leapt over the wall and drew their weapons.

In the distance they saw the Blade Emperor’s retreating figure.

“There! You rat-like bastard!”

“If we catch you we won’t let you off!”

They were showering him with curses uncontrollably when—

The youngest, Cheon Woo-jin, urgently spoke.

“Hyungs, stop! The great warriors aren’t following.”

The other four of the Extreme Five turned around in alarm.

Sure enough, they were the only ones chasing Peng Mu-gi.

And Cheon Woo-jin’s cry naturally reached Peng Mu-gi’s ears.

As if waited for, his steps halted abruptly.

“Th-this is getting out of hand.”

“Everyone, hold!”

They soon met Peng Mu-gi’s eyes, burning with rage.

He was already furious at his ignoble retreat, and the Extreme Five’s outrageous provocation poured oil on the fire.

“Do you think I will give up on you?”

Even at a distance of twenty-odd steps, the five Heterodox members were cowed and stepped back.

Ready to flee at a moment’s notice.

The once-boastful Extreme Five suddenly fell silent.

Peng Mu-gi glared at them, grinding his teeth as he left one warning.

“I will capture and kill every one of you. Not a single one will be spared.”

With that he turned his back and leisurely disappeared.

The five left alone sighed.

“That was almost a disaster.”

“That old man seems determined to hunt us down to the end.”

“Don’t worry. The Yin Yang Twin Monster heroes will protect us.”

They stroked their startled chests and returned to where they had come from.

Meanwhile Yu Seol, curious, asked her grandfather a question.

“Why did you just let them go?”

If he were the usual Yu Jinsan, he would have seized and dealt with them.

It was a perfect chance to capture masters of the Murim Alliance.

But the situation had changed.

“Not now. Later, I’ll make them submit in front of everyone.”

A faint smile bloomed on Yu Jinsan’s face.

“Only one who has earned everyone’s recognition can truly become the representative of the murim world.”

“Want to become the representative? Who?”

“Who else? You. Should grandpa do it?”

“Grandpa can do it too.”

Yu Jinsan firmly shook his head.

“No. There must be only one representative the murim world can rely on.”

Yu Seol sensed that something fun was about to begin.

Perhaps that was why her face was already full of smiles.

“Hehe. So I’ll become the best in the murim world?”

“Grandpa is above you, so I’m the best.”

Yu Seol held up her index and middle finger and asked.

“Then am I second?”

“Yes, you know it well.”

At that moment Soso approached with a smile.

“Then please make me third, Grandpa.”

Yu Jinsan scratched his head as if realizing something.

Discussing the top spot of the murim world in front of the Sword Empress was inevitably embarrassing.

“Even though you’ve already retired…”

Soso giggled and looked at him with an affectionate gaze.

“I was joking. I’ll leave again in two days.”

“You’re leaving that soon?”

“Yes. Seol’s rate of learning is faster than expected, so two days should be enough.”

At that, Yu Seol, looking wistful, grabbed her arm.

“Sister, where are you going?”

“Hmm. I want to stay with Seol too, but I have things to do in Tianzhu.”

“Can’t I come with you?”

Soso’s jade-like hand gently stroked Yu Seol’s head.

“I want that, but Seol also has things she must do here.”

Before long, tears welled up in Yu Seol’s eyes.

Perhaps because they had so much in common; Yu Seol had never become so attached to someone in such a short time.

Yu Jinsan knew that well.

‘The kid. The Sword Empress must be like a mother to her.’

There had been such moments in past meetings as well.

He still vividly remembered his granddaughter calling the Sword Empress ‘mother’ when she was a baby.

But where there is meeting, there is also parting.

Yu Seol also knew well that fussing wouldn’t change anything.

“Hiiing. We’ll see each other again, right?”

“Of course! Shall we have fun together until then?”

Yu Seol’s reply lacked energy.

The thought of parting from her had drained her energy.

And Yu Jinsan was no stranger to his granddaughter’s feelings.

“We will leave soon too, child.”

“Huh? Where are we going?”

“We’ll tour the jianghu. We’ll visit places we’ve never been, so you can look forward to it.”

“Really?”

“Of course! Time’s short, so train hard with your unnie.”

Yu Seol’s gloomy mood quickly began to lift.

“Okay, Grandpa!”

Soso and Yu Seol held hands and disappeared somewhere.

It seemed she’d be teaching another skill this time.

Left alone, Yu Jinsan glanced slightly to the right.

The Extreme Five had returned and quietly clasped their hands together in a corner.

“You should come over here for a moment.”

The five ran up in a single bound and lined up before Yu Jinsan.

They looked brimming with determination.

“In a few days we too will be gone from this place. So you should leave around tomorrow as well.”

The Extreme Five were alarmed.

Even at this moment, the Murim Alliance was watching for opportunities to strike at them.

Moreover, the Blade Emperor might still be nearby.

And yet they were told to leave immediately tomorrow? They were flustered.

“T-tomorrow?”

“I-If we do, we’ll be on the assassination list.”

Yu Jinsan clicked his tongue and said,

“Tsk tsk. This old man thinks your mouths are the problem. You should always be humble; being so brash shortens your lifespan.”

The Extreme Five had boasted that they had attacked the Murim Alliance’s Shaanxi branch wherever they went—who could have known it would become their undoing?

They had tarnished the Justice Faction’s honor, so they were bound to appear on assassination lists.

Since even catching a Yin Monster is not easy for the Murim Alliance, it was obvious they’d seize the relatively easy Extreme Five as an example.

“P-please spare us, elder.”

“We’ll do anything you ask, please…”

“If we go out like this, we’ll just die.”

They were practically pleading through tears.

Yu Jinsan gave them a contemptuous once-over.

They were supposed to be Evil Faction warriors beyond their peak, yet compared to the Justice Faction they had no gravitas at all.

“Then stay here and guard the house. We’re leaving anyway.”

Cheon Woo-hwan, the eldest of the Extreme Five, clasped his hands and asked humbly.

“C-can we follow you?”

“Where? Follow us? What would you do trailing after us?”

“As porters or whatever, we’ll do anything you order. Just for a few days, please…”

A sigh escaped from Yu Jinsan’s lips.

‘Ugh. What to do with these persistent brats.’
