So far, everything had gone smoothly.

Starting with the Southern Edge Sect and extending to the Tang Family and the Ami Sect.

Under the name Yin Yang Twin Monster, they had subdued quite a few notable strongmen.

But the murim world is vast and packed with warriors; there was still a long way to go.

To continue their journey without trouble, they first needed to secure funds.

“Grandpa, we’re going to the Heavenly Sword Mountain Hall now, right?”

Yu Jinsan, walking along, asked his granddaughter in surprise.

“How did you know that?”

“I know everything. You’re going to ask the Extreme Five uncles where to sell the treasure, aren’t you?”

Her perceptiveness was anything but ordinary.

They couldn’t sell the Emei Sect’s statue through normal channels. They planned to use people with connections in Sichuan to find a buyer.

Their destination was the Heavenly Sword Mountain Hall near Deokyang Mountain.

Even at a leisurely pace, it was a distance they could cover within half a day.

“Your guess is right. This old man doesn’t know anyone in the area, so we’ll have to make use of their connections.”

“They’ll be pleased to see us, right?”

“Of course! If Seol comes to meet them, they’ll certainly be happy.”

“Hehe. Let’s go quickly, I want to see the uncles~”

Yu Jinsan chuckled at his granddaughter’s genuine smile.

“Alright. Then shall we start moving in earnest from now?”

The Heavenly Sword Mountain Hall was smaller than a proper village—a small settlement where people lived together.

Dozens of pavilions clung to the hillside.

A single entrance was fenced with wooden palisades, and a watchtower rose nearby. At a glance, the place was clearly optimized for defense.

Two warriors guarding the entrance crossed their scabbards to block the way.

They wore white light armor and black bands tied around their foreheads.

They weren’t exceptional, but practiced martial skill showed in every movement.

After glancing them over, Yu Jinsan sent a telepathic message to his granddaughter: Try to talk to them properly.

As guests, there was no need to cause a commotion.

Understanding his intent, Yu Seol politely clasped her hands and greeted them.

“Hello. This is the Heavenly Sword Mountain Hall, right?”

“Who are you? How did you get here?”

Yu Jinsan signaled his granddaughter to continue answering. It was meant to give her experience.

“We came on foot.”

“So what business do you have here?”

“The Extreme Five uncles are here, aren’t they?”

The mention of the Extreme Five stiffened the warriors’ expressions.

Only now did their gazes sharpen and examine the pair more closely.

Though they looked like a grandparent and grandchild, their bearing and attire suggested they were no ordinary travelers.

The long poles wrapped in cloth on their backs were clearly spears.

The two warriors swallowed and exchanged glances.

Then one of them asked in a trembling voice, “Are you… perhaps the Yin Yang Twin Monster, great warriors?”

“That’s right. I’m Yin Monster.”

At that, the warriors opened the way without hesitation.

“Y-you should have said so. We had been told in advance that you might visit at some point.”

“Really? Please let us meet the uncles quickly.”

In no time, the warriors’ attitude had done a complete one-eighty.

“Yes. If it’s alright, we’ll run and fetch them.”

“Hehe. Thank you!”

The two warriors saluted and hurried off, faces flushed with excitement.

“They’re the Yin Yang Twin Monster, right? They seem different from the rumors of being vicious, don’t they?”

“I’m sure. Who would dare use the Yin Monster great hero’s name unless they were mad?”

“True. Anyway, if we hadn’t recognized them and driven them off, it would have been a disaster.”

“Not just a disaster—we’d have been dead.”

The warrior running beside him nodded and said, “I’ll go report to the Hall leader; you go to Taiyuan Pavilion. The Heavenly hero should be there.”

“Alright. See you later then.”

They split and ran off in opposite directions.

The grandparent and grandchild watched them vanish from the entrance.

Yu Seol, bored while waiting, looked around and asked, “Grandpa, what kind of place is this?”

“Hmm. Murim places are all the same; what’s different? They train to get stronger, earn money, and expand their influence.”

“So it’s similar to the Defeating Blade Clan?”

“In a way, yes, but how could such a peripheral power compare to the foremost sects of the Evil factions?”

They were chatting quietly when someone called out, “Great warrior!!!”

A middle-aged man ran toward them with a joyful expression—Cheon Woo-hwan, the eldest of the Extreme Five.

“Uncle!”

Yu Seol ran up to him with a bright smile. They clasped hands and waved them about frantically—mostly due to Yu Seol’s strength, of course.

“I didn’t expect to see you two again so soon. What has happened since we last met?”

Yu Jinsan, coming up behind them with his hands clasped behind his back, replied with a faint smile, “This seems like a long story, so it’s better to postpone it for a moment. But where are your younger brothers?”

“Ah. They followed to help with a request they took on at the Heavenly Sword Mountain Hall.”

No sooner had he finished than Yu Jinsan clicked his tongue.

“Those being pursued by the Murim Alliance roaming about like that? They should be hiding until things calm down.”

“Come on. Surely they wouldn’t chase all the way to Sichuan? My brothers were just too restless, so I couldn’t help but allow it.”

Before he could finish, Yu Jinsan scolded him with a grave expression.

“You need a scolding. Do you take the Murim Alliance so lightly? Pride like that is poisonous in the martial world, as I’ve warned.”

“I’m sorry, elder. I’ll cut to the chase and be careful from now on.”

“No need to apologize to me. If you run around recklessly, you only harm yourselves; what does this old man have to do with it anyway?”

Though scolded, Cheon Woo-hwan felt warmed inside; he sensed the sincerity of the concern.

He gave an awkward smile and said, “Come on in. First, let me introduce you to the Hall’s head here.”

Yu Jinsan nodded and subtly pointed with his chin.

“It looks like he’s already out there. Isn’t he?”

Someone stood watching politely about ten paces away— a middle-aged man in bright yet neat attire. His bearing alone announced he was the owner.

As soon as their eyes met, he approached hastily and introduced himself.

“I am Yeop-seong, the Hall head of the Heavenly Sword Mountain Hall. It is truly an honor that you have come to this humble place.”

His manners were exceedingly polite and respectful.

It wasn’t strange; in the martial world, being acquainted with the Yin Yang Twin Monster could be a great asset.

Yu Jinsan returned the salute with a clasped-hand bow.

“We are the ones grateful for such hospitality.”

“Not at all. The Extreme Five brothers told us legendary tales of you great warriors; I wanted very much to meet you.”

Cheon Woo-hwan, standing beside them, smiled and added, “Brother Yeop is right. He begged me so much to let him meet you even once.”

Judging by Yeop-seong’s reaction, it seemed unlikely to be an exaggeration.

Their earnest gazes made Yu Jinsan feel somewhat pressured. To have such ardent supporters in Sichuan, not Shaanxi, made him snort softly and wave a hand.

“Rumors are always exaggerated.”

“Exaggerated? Not at all! Please come inside—we’ll show you in here right away…”

Yeop-seong led them into the most old-fashioned pavilion.

He seated them at a table draped in golden silk and personally prepared refreshments.

Of course, Yu Jinsan knew the truth: it was all to ingratiate himself.

Grasping his teacup, Yu Jinsan complimented him in return for the hospitality.

“I admire the Hall head’s character. You don’t even delegate these small tasks to subordinates but do them yourself.”

The compliment brought a smile to Yeop-seong’s face.

“Heh! That’s too kind. If you need anything, just say the word.”

It seemed the matter would be resolved easily.

With a lighter heart, Yu Jinsan brought up the main topic.

“The reason for our sudden visit is to obtain some information.”

“Information? Just tell us. We’ll look into anything for you.”

Yu Jinsan nodded and signaled his granddaughter with his eyes.

Yu Seol took a Buddha statue from her bundle and set it with a thud on the table.

“How much do you think we could get for this if we sold it?”

Yeop-seong examined the statue, expressing admiration as he spoke.

“What kind of Buddha statue is this? It looks very precious.”

“We received it from the Emei Sect. It was in lieu of our home price.”

Yeop-seong leaned forward and asked at once.

The Emei Sect was one of the strongest Justice Faction forces in Sichuan.

There was no way they’d handed over the statue to the Yin Yang Twin Monster willingly.

Cheon Woo-hwan, watching quietly, asked with a meaningful look, “Could it be… spoils of war?”

As if to answer, Yu Seol nodded.

“That’s right.”

Though brief, the answer carried weight. Spoils of war meant taking an opponent’s belongings after victory in battle.

Yeop-seong murmured with a look of hopeful expectation, “Th-then did the Emei Sect end up devastated like the Southern Edge Sect…?”

Yu Jinsan answered, “Somehow, it turned out that way. In any case, could you appraise the statue and find someone who might buy it? It seems difficult to go through normal channels.”

Before he finished, Yeop-seong was already nodding vigorously.

“You have come at the right time. I happen to know suitable people.”

So the matter would be resolved easily.

Who the trading partner was didn’t matter much, but curiosity rose.

“May I ask what kind of people they are?”

Yeop-seong seemed delighted to help.

He answered confidently, smiling fully, “Yes, great warrior. It’s a force we deal with called the Black Night Clan. You haven’t heard of them, have you?”

Yu Jinsan snorted and replied, “Did you just say the Black Night Clan?”

“Yes. They’re a relatively new emerging force in Sichuan, but their skill is remarkable.”

The Black Night Clan—he hadn’t expected to hear that name here.

He knew they were expanding at a terrifying pace; it seemed they’d already reached Sichuan.

Yu Seol couldn’t hide the flutter in her chest at the familiar name.

“The Black Night Clan? Really?”

“Yes. Do you know them?”

How could she not know them? She’d shared joy and sorrow with them on Mount Yangju since she was a baby.

There was the clan leader Pung-ho and his wife Hyeon-hee among others—people she wanted to see.

Yu Jinsan also showed clear delight.

“They’re very close to us. Do you know who is in charge?”

Yeop-seong lowered his voice and whispered, as if sharing inside information, “I’ve only met her once so far, and she introduced herself as Eun Hwa-rin.”

Fortunately, it was someone they knew well.

They had helped each other many times; she was a major figure overseeing the Black Night Clan’s southern region.

It seemed she had come down personally to strengthen their influence in Sichuan.

There couldn’t be better news than that.

“Could you tell them we’d like to meet with them?”
