At the sound of the Yin Monster’s laughter, the elders of the Wudang Sect looked as if a chill had crawled over them.
They were plunged into such extreme confusion that they didn’t know what to do.
“W-What is that…”
“How can this be…”
Mu-gwang, the sect leader of the Wudang Sect, said to them with an ashen face.
“Senior elders, please make a decision. No matter the will of the ancestor, we cannot bow to the Yin Monster, can we?”
He was suggesting they ignore the message left by Master Jang Sam-bong.
Gwang Cheon murmured softly with a dazed look.
“Let’s watch a bit longer. After all, the Heaven Piercing Sword alone doesn’t grant the authority to command the Wudang Sect.”
The elders were watching Elder Gwang Neung. The madman, whose mind was fractured, was showing a strange reaction.
The white-haired madman who had been indiscriminately attacking Yang Monsters.
His pupils, filled with murderous intent, were fixed on the Heaven Piercing Sword as if causing a tremor.
At that moment, Gwang Hye asked Gwang Cheon with a startled expression.
“Could it be that Elder Gwang Neung’s mind is coming back?”
“No. He’s reacting instinctively to the ancestor’s Heaven Piercing Sword.”
Would he now change targets and attack the Yin Monster? It was impossible to predict what reaction he would show.
In any case, because he had stopped moving, Yu Jinsan was barely able to catch his breath.
Yu Jinsan steadied his breathing and signaled to Elder Gwang Neung.
“Huh. Go play with her now. Why pick on only me?”
Even if he went all out, he couldn’t handle the opponent. He had no choice but to leave it to his granddaughter.
But Yu Seol was still hanging from the cliff at this moment, probing the crevice with her hand.
Everyone watched only her back.
A moment later, at some instant, Yu Seol’s arm slipped out of the crevice.
Then she began to giggle as if pleased about something.
“Puhihi!”
Something brightly shining was clutched in her right hand.
The Wudang Sect’s sect leader, recognizing it, cried out in shock.
“Taiji Token!”
The white-haired elders were already out of their wits.
“H-How is the ancestor’s sacred relic there?”
“This can’t be. The Yin Monster has obtained the Heavenly Sword and the Taiji Token; we’re finished.”
“How could such a disaster happen…”
The Heaven Piercing Sword and the Taiji Token were the sacred relics of ancestor Jang Sam-bong, founder of the Wudang Sect.
Possessing these two symbols of power meant that everyone must obey — the sect’s absolute rule.
But the bearer being the Yin Monster? It was nothing short of a bolt from the blue.
The sect leader urgently proposed to the elders.
“Senior elders. No matter what, we cannot kneel before the Yin Monster. Help Elder Gwang Neung and slay the Yin Yang Twin Monster.”
Gwang Cheon Jin-in sighed and replied.
“Sigh. Still, we can’t simply ignore the ancestor’s will. What on earth are we to do…?”
To ignore the sacred relics would mean denying the very identity of the Wudang Sect.
If the elders and disciples below, preparing the great sword formation, learned this, they would surely be greatly shaken.
They were in a situation where they could do neither one thing nor the other.
Yet they had to reach some conclusion.
In the end, the sect leader gripped his scabbard tightly and stepped forward.
“If not now, there will be no chance. I’ll attempt to converse with the Yin Monster; seniors, be ready to assist if needed.”
There was no other way.
The elders reluctantly agreed.
“Do so.”
With a resolute face, the sect leader began to approach the Yin Monster.
But Yu Seol paid him no heed, whether he approached or not.
She cared only about the Taiji Token in her left hand and the Heavenly Sword in her right.
Vroom-! Vroom-!! Vroom-!!
Each time the Heaven Piercing Sword was swung, a magnificent tearing sound burst forth.
At the same time, a crescent-shaped, milky-white aura flew endlessly into the air.
To emit such force with only a bit of inner power? There was no doubt it was a legendary sword.
“This is fun. This is really the best!”
Yu Seol felt as if she could fly.
She couldn’t contain her excitement.
‘How much could I get if I sold these two?’
She was sure she’d get a lot of money.
She was testing the sword’s performance for a moment.
“The Heaven Piercing Sword and Taiji Token belong to our Wudang Sect! Please return them at once!”
Yu Seol glanced sideways at the approaching sect leader.
“I won’t give them.”
She refused decisively without a moment’s hesitation.
The sect leader, as if expecting this, drew his sword.
Three more elders could be seen approaching from behind.
The fractured-minded Gwang Neung still drooled and stared only at the Heavenly Sword, while Yu Jinsan quietly observed the situation.
“Yin Yang Twin Monster! Do you think the two of you can be our match?!”
The Wudang Sect’s strength consisted of one Profound Realm and four Supreme realm fighters — truly a terrifying concentration of top experts.
But despite the sect leader’s threat, Yu Seol didn’t even blink.
“Yes, I think so. Want to test it?”
At this rate, a battle was inevitable.
Watching, Gwang Cheon stepped forward and made an offer.
“Those items are very important to us. Return them and we’ll consider nothing happened.”
Perhaps because he spoke so calmly?
Yu Seol lowered her voice in reply.
“Grandfather told me earlier to take everything that’s here.”
Gwang Cheon sighed with a face of realization — he remembered the words he’d used to lure the Yin Monster here.
He had told her the treasures were in the Wind Wall, and to go take them all.
“Those things are very important to us.”
“Still, I can’t just give them up.”
When words failed to get through, a murderous look rose in Gwang Cheon’s eyes.
His previously calm face had completely changed.
“So they truly are wicked, as the rumors said. We gave plenty of chances.”
He felt that further talk was pointless.
So there was no reason to hesitate.
Gwang Cheon’s sword flashed out of its scabbard like lightning.
Kaaang-!
Then his new blade slid toward the Yin Monster at tremendous speed.
It was so fast that it left dozens of afterimages.
Sssssh-!!
Chasing Cloud, Tracing Star. It was the Wudang Sect’s supreme maneuver: follow the clouds, pursue the stars.
When he launched his attack, two other elders and the sect leader followed in support.
Taat-! Tatat-!!
Even with four enemies charging, Yu Seol’s expression did not change.
She simply held the Taiji Token behind her back with her left hand and thrust the Heavenly Sword forward.
In that stance she slid to the rear, putting distance between them.
Suddenly a shadow flew between them like a lightning bolt.
At that instant, a dazzling burst of light flashed briefly before Yu Seol’s eyes.
Kwaang-!!
“Grrk!!”
It was Gwang Cheon who had been charging at Yu Seol from the front.
But he was now being flung backward faster than he had been running.
What on earth had happened?
Those following behind hurriedly stopped and supported him.
When they looked ahead, bloodshot Gwang Neung had his sword slanted downward.
Unbelievably, he had stepped forward to help the Yin Monster.
“Grrrrrr.”
Gwang Neung, his white hair unkempt, glared at the Wudang fighters as if he would kill them.
At that sight, Gwang Cheon opened his mouth in disbelief.
“Elder, what on earth are you doing?”
As expected, there was no reply.
At last, Gwang Hye and Gwang Hyeon spat out a word each.
“Snap out of it, Elder! We’re on the same side!”
“Turn and attack that wicked she-demon at once!”
No matter how they shouted, Gwang Neung heard nothing.
His wrinkled face contorted, and with murderous eyes he glared at his disciples.
It was a look that promised death to anyone who approached.
The Wudang elders could do nothing more. They had to abandon the attack.
They looked at the Yin Monster with faces that had lost everything.
“Heh heh. So why try to take what belongs to others? You should be kinder.”
Yu Seol scolded the Wudang elders and walked up beside Gwang Neung.
Then she slid the Heavenly Sword slightly, and he began to react.
His head followed the direction in which the sword moved.
“Grrrrrr.”
What on earth was going on?
Curious, Yu Seol now thrust the Taiji Token forward.
At that moment, reflexively, one of Gwang Neung’s knees touched the ground.
Kuuung-!
The Wudang sect leader and elders watching that sight squeezed their eyes shut.
Who was Elder Gwang Neung? Though a madman, he was one of the oldest and most senior figures still alive in the Wudang Sect.
He had knelt before the Evil factions’ Yin Monster.
Their rage boiled inside, but there was nothing they could do.
“Huh? What’s wrong? Hurry and get up, Grandfather.”
At the Yin Monster’s word, Gwang Neung, who had been kneeling, sprang to his feet.
Why on earth would he move at the command?
Just as Yu Seol, who didn’t understand, tilted her head in puzzlement.
Yu Jinsan approached with a meaningful smile.
“What a windfall. We’ve found a very great treasure.”
“What is this? It’s valuable, right?”
“This isn’t something you can value in money. They’re the Wudang Sect’s sacred relics that hold absolute power.”
At that moment, Yu Seol’s eyes went wide.
Treasures of that magnitude? She felt as if she had everything in the world.
“R-Really?”
“Yes. Go ahead and try it.”
Nodding, Yu Seol cleared her throat and thrust the Taiji Token forward.
Then she glared at the Wudang fighters and shouted.
“Drop your weapons! Now!”
The Wudang elders just opened their mouths in stunned silence.
No matter how absolute the sect’s rules were, how could they follow the commands of the Yin Monster?
It was maddening beyond belief.
“……”
When they did not respond, Yu Seol shouted again.
“Aha!!”
The sect leader and the elders still ignored her with blank faces.
The taut tension continued.
Gwang Neung began to approach them, radiating murderous intent.
What he intended to do was as plain as day.
“It looks like Elder Gwang Neung is going to attack us.”
“W-What should we do?”
The eyes of the fighters turned to Gwang Cheon.
He gave a deep sigh and threw the sword he had been holding to the ground.
Clang-!
“Do as you’re told. We are not following the Yin Monster’s orders; we are following the Master’s will.”
As everyone threw down their swords, Gwang Neung’s steps abruptly stopped as if he’d been waiting for that.
The situation was unfolding strangely.
One thing was clear: Yu Seol had come to control the entire Wudang Sect.
Though she had truly obtained immense power, it was not Yu Seol’s concern.
“How much will you buy these from me for?”
“……”
As expected, the Wudang fighters gave no answer; they only blinked.
It seemed she didn’t really care.
She had asked on a whim.
“If you don’t want them, fine. I’ll just sell them at the market.”
Selling the sect’s sacred relics at the market — what could be more absurd?
“D-Do you even know what those items are?!”
The sect leader cried out in anguish, but Yu Seol had already turned her head to look at the Wind wall.
Her gaze landed on the entrance to the cave where Master Jang Sambong was said to have entered nirvana.
As the cliff split, the illusory barrier broke and the entrance was revealed.
“Hmm.”
She had to see what was inside the cave. That had been the very reason they’d come here.
At that moment, sensing the Yin Monster’s intention, the Wudang sect leader cried out desperately.
“Th-That place must not be entered!!”
Telling someone not to do something often makes them want to do it all the more.
When Yu Seol stepped toward it, Gwang Neung followed behind like a guardian warrior.
