Five minutes earlier.
In the office of Fire Elemental Knight Lina.
Besides Fire Lina being here, her sister, Ice Tina, was also in the office.
Although Ice Tina belonged to the Elemental Knight family, she didn’t join the Element Knights Order; instead she became the Disciplinary Committee Chair under the Student Council on her own.
The two sisters weren’t actually a matched pair.
Otherwise, with Ice Tina’s strength she could have fully matched Fire Lina’s caliber as Elemental Knight Order commander.
Ice Tina disliked war, so she refused her sister’s invitation to join the fighting.
But since Fire Lina was her sister after all, she entrusted Ice Tina with a task.
Normally, doing such a sleazy thing as spying on others would be beneath her nature.
But her sister persuaded her by saying it was to give her a backup, and that only the two sisters would be hearing it, so she agreed.
After confirming there was no one else around.
With only Ice Tina and Fire Lina in the office, the elder sister opened the crystal box on the desk.
Inside was an audio-recording crystal!
This recording crystal was the one Tina had secretly placed earlier in Naiye’s manor.
Although the mastermind was Fire Lina, Ice Tina admitted she also wanted to hear Naiye’s voice.
But Fire Lina’s main intention was to hear what Naiye had come back to the Academy to do.
Now, because of him, the Elemental Knight Order had all halted the war.
The phase of rising morale had been abruptly stopped by Young Master Naiye all on his own!
This made Fire Lina furious, but she wasn’t going to sit back and do nothing.
So she wanted to secretly listen to see if Naiye talked about anything that night and what his purpose was in returning to the Academy.
Of course, ideally she could catch something to use as leverage to recruit Naiye!
That would make the Elemental Knight Order’s combat strength even more foolproof!
“Alright, start!”
Lina, a little nervous and excited, activated the recording crystal; Tina involuntarily leaned in to listen closely.
–What’s wrong, don’t like looking at these lovely memories? How cute you were back then?
The opening was words Tina had heard when she visited Naiye; the younger sister had reported all of this to her.
But when they heard Naiye mention he had old photos and footage in his hands….
Even Fire Lina couldn’t help but feel tense and afraid!
Because who knew whether Naiye had secretly recorded her dark past as well!
“………”
Lina clicked and skipped that section.
Then the information broker with cat ears from the Miscellaneous Knights began introducing the Academy’s current situation for Naiye.
That was nothing special either; they could skip it.
It turned out there wasn’t any useful intelligence; Young Master Naiye didn’t easily reveal things about himself.
Instead he seemed to be enjoying life here—bathing, eating, and then bathing again.
Night arrived! There was a new voice!
The sisters Lina and Tina suddenly became very serious; they leaned in, focused, and listened intently.
First was a girl’s voice, probably the dark-clad female knight Naiye had brought.
Then Naiye’s gentle voice slowly soothed the girl.
Then the woman’s moans began—torn between holding back and letting go—but from the sound it was clear the girl was experiencing peak pleasure and tumultuous excitement.
Although Lina and Tina widened their eyes, neither stopped; instead an inner heat began to surge.
Unconsciously, the recording crystal’s sound ended.
“…………”
“…………”
Lina lowered her head slightly in disappointment, but forced a stern expression to maintain her dignity.
In the end she closed the crystal box, feeling powerless.
A few minutes later, Tina had quietly left; Lina was still brooding in disappointment.
“There’s nothing… really nothing at all? What exactly did Naiye come back for?”
Lina carefully replayed the recent sounds in her mind, hoping to find some important intelligence she had missed.
Did Young Master Naiye want to conquer the Academy’s ten districts? Become the Knight King himself?
How could that be? First, he wasn’t cut out for fighting, and the Lycoris family wasn’t one of the Four Great Knight Families, but ranked fifth as a magical technology family.
They had no qualifications.
Unless Young Master Naiye dared to challenge the core system of Queen Auriel, in which case the Lycoris family would become the worst nightmare and be utterly defeated by the Four Great Knight Families.
Yesterday Tina’s reply said it was President Meiyu who would handle Student Council matters…….
No, this still required effort; Fire Lina’s sharp intuition didn’t believe Naiye would just be a good, obedient child.
If Naiye really were a compliant child, that would be fine! But Lina’s gut told her otherwise, and in a sense Lina’s fiery intuition was indeed correct.
But the reality was they had insufficient intelligence.
The cruel fact was there was nothing; Lina’s little schemes had completely failed.
‘Could it be! Could Naiye have known all along! No wonder the final segment sounded so careful, so clear!’
Lina suddenly felt this was the truth; maybe Naiye had known from the start that Tina had secretly placed a recording crystal!
This guy had always been like that—glib-tongued and sly, and physically weak to boot, clearly something Lina could easily overpower every time!
But bullies who knew how to talk always managed to turn situations around!
They failed—not only did they not obtain any intelligence, they were even outmaneuvered.
“Ah… so annoying.
“Ah… Naiye, what are you doing exactly? What do you want… where are you?”
This had nothing to do with Lina’s Fire-element-altered personality; deep inside Lina had an obsession.
Naiye was the only man who had ever beaten her; as commander of the Elemental Knight family, she was determined to win back that honor!
Unfortunately, she had no strategy now……..
Lina collapsed onto the desk helplessly, her crimson bangs hiding her eyes.
Thud.
“What…”
Thud! Thud!
“Report! Something big happened!”
‘What is it that’s so big? There’s no war going on right now.’
Lina was a bit inclined to slack off; just as she lifted her head, an Elemental Knight burst in without waiting for orders and opened the door.
They shouted out the words with urgent alarm!
“Flame Lance Knight Manaen injured an innocent while evicting some hooligans at Train Station One!!
“It’s Young Master Naiye of the Lycoris family. He’s injured!”
Boom!
At the moment she heard that Naiye was injured, Lina sprang to her feet!
Flames surged at her back, almost erupting into a raging blaze! Her pupils trembled; the corners of her eyes began to flare with fire!
But the office showed no sign of burning, demonstrating the Fire Element Knight’s extremely skilled flame control technique.
She glared angrily at her subordinate, signaling her to continue speaking quickly.
“Miss Ice Tina has already gone over; everyone is there now!”
Why was Naiye there?! Did he really go to fix the train first thing early the next day?
But what happened with Manaen?! She was the knight stationed there.
Why would she injure Naiye!
Fire Lina’s pupils flickered; many thoughts flashed through her mind.
But thinking about it now was useless; she had to head over immediately!
