Naiye felt the tremor of the earth and watched the Investment and Risk Company ahead being overrun and destroyed by the terrifying Dragon Beasts.

A ferocious Tyranno-beast opened its blood-red maw and charged in, biting a huge logging mech in two.

On the other side, a Direhorn charged to intercept the logging mech, and the two were locked in a stalemate—neither could overcome the other.

But then another Direhorn charged from behind!

The two Direhorns, pushing with a double strike, completely destroyed the logging mech!

An Armored Dragon Beast crouched on the ground, its sturdy carapace effortlessly stopping the incoming bullets.

Then several Swift Raptors hiding behind leapt nimbly off the Armored Dragon Beast, onto the mech, and began tearing apart its mechanical components.

Finally the Flying Wyverns snatched up several fleeing people from the air and smashed them into mince.

This was the Dragon Beast legion under the command of the Dragon Knight family.

They were no longer mindless, savage beasts, but a legion that truly understood coordination and combat!

This showed the enormous difference between having command and having none.

Now everyone at the Investment and Risk Company was in chaos from top to bottom, and the only pulse device that could stop the Dragon Beasts had been neutralized.

Just as Young Master Naiye had said before: find the problem, solve it, and the matter is over.

“Alright, mission’s over. I’ll head back first.”

“I’ll stay here to handle other matters. Naiye, you go back to find Grandmother first! Hurry, remember—Grandmother has been worrying about you.”

“Okay, okay.”

With the mission complete, Naiye waved goodbye to Eren and left the place.

He turned and climbed onto the Direhorn that had been waiting behind the two of them.

After settling into the saddle, Naiye suddenly asked Eren.

“Eren, what’s this big guy’s name?!”

“Xiao Bu!”

After Eren answered, he suddenly remembered something and turned to ask.

“By the way, what are the two little Direhorns Grandmother gave you called?”

“One’s called Big Horn, the other’s Big Foot.”

“………..Such simple names.”

Eren muttered helplessly—though even the big Direhorn’s name was quite simple.

After Young Master Naiye sat properly, Xiao Bu swayed left and right, then began to move.

Returning to the Dragon Knight family territory.

The core of the Dragon Knight family’s territory, like the Lycoris family, lay outside the royal capital and the Auriel Knight Academy.

The Lycoris family was to the east, the Dragon Knight family to the south.

Xiao Bu, as if it had begun ferrying Naiye regularly, moved on its own and delivered him directly back into the Dragon Knight family’s domain.

Finally Young Master Naiye dismounted at the Dragon Palace.

“…….The core building of the Dragon Knights.”

Naiye looked up carefully, gazing at the enormous palace.

The palace itself didn’t look special; compared to palaces of other ranks it was relatively ordinary, not particularly noble or ostentatious—it was a palace in form only.

As for why it was built specifically as a palace? There was only one reason.

Naiye raised his head again and saw an even larger giant dragon statue!

The giant dragon statue sat lifelike atop the palace, seeming both conquering and like a guardian protecting the place.

“………..”

Even though it was only a few glances and merely a statue, Naiye felt a strange reverence in his heart.

But he didn’t continue staring; he lifted his foot and moved forward.

The gate slowly opened in response to Young Master Naiye’s arrival.

But before going in…………

“I’ll leave a message for Weiluxika first, so she won’t worry.”

During this time his Dark Knight had been following his orders to train, so she hadn’t been by his side.

To avoid worry, it was better to leave a message first.

Then Young Master Naiye prepared to enter the palace.

Naiye actually had a lingering question in his mind.

Why were the Lycoris family and the Dragon Knight family on such good terms?

Although the Lycoris family had dealings with the Four Great Knight Families, in reality it had been just ordinary interaction.

There wasn’t inherently a particularly close relationship.

Even Young Master Naiye himself—mainly Naiye personally knew the current Four Knight Captains, but that was all.

That didn’t mean the families behind them were so close to Naiye.

Except for the Dragon Knight family—a very ancient knight family with dragon blood!

Naiye was sure it wasn’t because of him; this relationship probably began long ago when his grandfather was still alive.

Most notable was Eiru, the current head of the Dragon Knight family.

She certainly knew his grandfather, then his father, and only later did Naiye come to know her—not the other way around where Naiye met her first.

But this was different from meeting other female knights at the Academy.

In Naiye’s memory, he had actually seen Eiru when he was a child.

And when his father was still alive, she had continuously come to visit young Naiye.

In young Naiye’s vague recollections, Eiru seemed to have always been there and yet also somehow absent.

One could even say that Eiru, the Dragon Knight family’s leader, had been a childhood playmate of Naiye.

Until Naiye grew a bit older—around age ten—it seemed he scarcely saw Eiru in person anymore.

However, they continued to be in contact, and that contact never really stopped, even though in-person meetings were very rare.

When Naiye returned to the Academy, he had a feeling that Eiru would meet him at that time.

So Young Master Naiye’s visit this time was actually to figure out why the Lycoris family and the Dragon Knight family were so close.

The two families’ styles, forms, and ideas were completely opposite.

The Lycoris family now specialized purely in magical technology.

Whereas the Dragon Knight family was famous for its natural Dragon Beasts and pure physical strength.

You could say they were completely unrelated.

Yet the two families’ relationship was extremely close and friendly.

Especially Eiru—she had always kept Naiye in her thoughts, and though she was practically a family grandmother,

she behaved like a child and bothered Naiye every day.

When Naiye walked in, he was met by a welcoming ceremony from the knight order!

Members of the Dragon Knight family stood in two rows, horns on their heads, clad in silver armor with gray cloaks fluttering, long awaiting Young Master Naiye’s arrival.

As Young Master Naiye passed through them, without hesitation they dropped to one knee, welcoming—indeed, paying even more reverential greetings to Naiye Lycoris.

Young Master Naiye naturally accepted their greeting and walked through.

Finally he arrived before yet another statue…………

This statue depicted a figure of great significance not only to the Dragon Knight family but to the entire Auriel Kingdom and the Academy!

The pose showed claws gripping a great sword, standing proudly on one foot atop a stone, with enormous proud wings spread behind.

It looked part dragon, part human—the overall form was a human body with the head and visage of a great dragon!

This was the Dragon Knight—the true Dragon Knight.

It was the Auriel Knight Academy’s second Knight King, and the only Dragon Knight from the Dragon Knight family a thousand years ago to conquer the entire Academy.

It was the only person in the Dragon Knight family worthy of the Dragon Knight title.

“I salute you, Dragon Knight.”

Even someone like Young Master Naiye willingly admired this true Dragon Knight.

After saluting the Dragon Knight, Naiye moved forward.

He soon entered the inner Dragon Treasury.

All kinds of dazzling treasures were displayed here—divine weapons, rare artifacts—showing the Dragon Knight family’s love for such wealth.

It also proved how vast the foundations of the Four Great Knight Families were.

In the shadows many extremely powerful Dragon Beasts lurked; they were not as docile as the Direhorn Xiao Bu outside.

“Such wealth…….”

Naiye was also drawn to the treasures and examined them carefully while scanning the surrounding area.

Their crimson eyes stared unceasingly at this stranger with a strange scent.

They were very familiar with this scent, and it was one they absolutely could not defy.

But the unfamiliar aura made them wary, so the Dragon Beasts watched Naiye cautiously.

If this stranger tried to steal any treasure, they would swarm him and bite the intruding thief into pieces!

When Naiye moved from the treasury to the other side, another female knight was waiting there.

When she spoke, the surrounding Dragon Beasts immediately fell silent and quickly withdrew, concealing their bodies in the shadows.

“Welcome on your return, Young Master Naiye Lycoris.”

A cool, pleasant voice spoke, and a silver Dragon Knight slowly emerged from the darkness.

She had beautiful silver hair and pretty blue dragon eyes, wearing a pristine white uniform with a high slit paired with white garter stockings, her figure full and rounded—but she wore no armor.

In fact most Dragon Knights didn’t necessarily wear armor, because their bodies were sometimes more formidable than any armor.

She also had no visible dragon horns; Naiye remembered her horns were rather small and thus hidden.

Although her tone to Naiye was very polite and formal, her excessive indifference and the way she stared at Young Master Naiye’s face seemed to lack any real respect.

She was Eir Dragonborn, a Silver Dragon Knight.

Her title made her status clear: she was originally meant to be the leader of the Dragon Knight Order who would contend and conflict with Fire Lina and Sky Wing Knight Nia.

Eren had recently taken office; he was the youngest, and was made captain to be cultivated.

“Return? I remember… oh right, this is my second time coming here.”

Naiye thought for a moment and indeed that was the case; the Silver Dragon Knight Eir nodded lightly with an indifferent face to Young Master Naiye.

Then she stepped aside and invited Young Master Naiye to proceed.

“You’re Eir, long time no see. Now you’re Eiru’s guard? A knight of her rank still needs a guard?”

“Yes, yes, I’m Grandma’s guard.”

Eir answered casually, but revealed nothing further.

In reality, Eiru was the one who posed the greatest threat to the strongest knight, President Meiyu—and she was the only one who did.

However, Eiru did not fight Meiyu for the Student Council Presidency; instead, like Naiye, she returned home to inherit her family.

She and Naiye were no longer students of the Auriel Knight Academy and could no longer vie for the President’s position.

Upon arriving here, Naiye actually wanted to complain about one thing.

That their Dragon Knight family naming convention was so simple.

Eiru Dragonborn

Eir Dragonborn

Eren Dragonborn

This was their family’s naming habit—only one syllable’s difference—but it was really easy to get mixed up……….
