In the throne room, Konoha and Meiro were facing a somewhat troublesome problem.

“Kyaaaaah! So cute, so cute, seriously adorable! What even is this girl!? She’s way too cute!”

“No fair! I want to pet her too!”

“Then I’m taking her cheeks!”

“Mghhh! I-I can’t breathe…”

“G-E-T A-W-A-Y F-R-O-M H-E-R! Get away from Konoha!”

The thirty girls who had been intended as sacrifices. Konoha, their savior, was currently on the verge of being crushed to death by them. Mainly by their very large breasts.

Now then, as for how this happened, the timeline went back several months.

Wait, several months? Huh?

Konoha had suggested sending the girls home immediately, but putting that proposal into practice proved quite difficult. One reason was that the area surrounding this Witch’s Treasure Chest was a breeding ground for magical beasts.

“If we let them escape on their own, there’s a high chance they’ll all become magical-beast snacks together. The safest option is to escort them all the way to the Neutral City of Lichten. And for that, we’ll need a proper carriage. So…”

“We’re going to catch some wild horses!”

“That was a joke.”

“H-Huh?”

Konoha had genuinely thought they were going to catch some. Apparently, she had only ever interacted with ponies before and had been looking forward to it a little.

“So we’ll build a carriage instead. We’ll use the Special Skill 《Magic Flute》 we just obtained.”

“Ohh, what did that actually do in the end?”

“It’s magic that breathes life into inanimate objects. It’s similar to creating Familiars. I suppose that’s why it’s called the ‘Magic Flute.’”

A Familiar was a being imbued with the magical power of its user. Whether living or nonliving, it was said to be created by breathing a portion of one’s soul into it. Creating even a single Familiar required an enormous amount of magical power, and unless one was a summoner, keeping a Familiar manifested for a long period was difficult. Even a summoner would probably be limited to two or three.

In the case of witches, their magical power was absurdly high, so they could keep them manifested for considerably longer, but even then, three was the limit.

“This 《Magic Flute》 can keep Familiars manifested regardless of how much magical power the user possesses. In other words, it basically lets us make as many homunculi as we want. I’ll make the ‘form’ by creating horses from ice, then use the Magic Flute to breathe souls into them. That should give us a carriage that obeys my commands. Naturally, we won’t need any difficult driving skills either.”

“Ooh~! Perfect idea!”

“Then, assuming it’ll take a considerable amount of time to make the carriage, we’ll also need to obtain clothes and other supplies.”

“Does that mean it’ll take quite a while before we leave?”

“There’s no need to rush, so I was thinking we could take a month. I’m also interested in the books in the Starry Chamber. I’d like to read as many of them as possible before we leave.”

After meeting Couperin’s Tomb, Konoha had accidentally pressed some strange switch. The cramped room opened up, revealing an enormous living space. It was absolutely packed with Couperin’s Tomb’s sense of playfulness.

Not only was there a library filled with vast numbers of books, there were even ingredients and a bath prepared. The tableware was quite nice too, so they planned to swipe a few pieces before leaving.

“Ugh, I don’t want to read…”

“Use this opportunity to do it. I don’t know whether the demons left them behind, but there were even some fairly recent books.”

“Ughhh. Ah, what about the people we left in the throne room?”

“For now, we’ll put them into suspended animation and move them over here. I plan to carry them quickly with levitation magic, but I might run short on magical power, so I want you to help.”

“Leave it to me! Then can I leave making the carriage to you?”

“Yes. I’ll turn it into a work of art.”

And now, we shall present approximately a month and a half through explanation and montage.

First came their next destination. Since it was nearby, they decided to head for the Neutral City of Lichten. It was also famous as a tourist destination, so Konoha was extremely excited.

They also found references to 【Witch’s Treasure Chests】 in the books. The ones they already knew about were:

【The Beautiful Blue Danube】 of 【Strauss Glacier】
【Josselin’s Lullaby】 of 【Mount Godard】

And in addition to those:

【Prince Igor: Polovtsian Dances】 of 【Borodin Desert】

was added as another destination. Borodin Desert was the closest, so their plan was to conquer that one first.

Next, Konoha learned several forms of 《Basic Magic》 from the books. She sampled most of the spells useful for everyday life. Levitation magic in particular seemed to become one of her favorites.

“I’m floating!! I’m floating, Meiro-chan!”

“You were making ridiculous leaps during that battle with the witch earlier, so why are you getting so excited over this? Also, you learned that incredibly quickly. Normally, you’d have to attend school and study for around six years to learn something like this…”

“Ooooooh! Up~ and down. I’m floating, I’m floating~ This is maaaagic~”

“Your excitement level is almost frightening.”

Alongside learning Basic Magic, Konoha also tried acquiring the 《Sewing》 skill. After arriving in the other world, Konoha and the others had actually begun wearing local clothing, but the underwear differed greatly from that of their original world. Because of that, classmates whose secondary profession was ‘Tailor’ had been producing underwear for everyone. Naturally, the male and female students had separate people responsible for it.

However, the amount Konoha currently had with her was honestly rather worrying. After all, October Festival had forcibly abducted her, so she had not exactly had time to stuff underwear into the item box on her status screen.

Thus, the Demon King spent a great deal of time practicing sewing, making use of her overpowered trait of learning skills easily.

“Come to think of it, what exactly is that outfit you’re wearing, Konoha?”

“Oh, it’s traditional Japanese clothing! A kimono! Though I guess saying that won’t mean anything to you. Um, it’s basically traditional clothing from my country.”

As a side effect of the Special Skill 《Oni Princess》, Konoha wore expensive-looking black Japanese clothing. She liked it quite a lot, so she was also trying to mass-produce kimonos using her sewing skill. The material she used was the dropped item, Flamecloth.

After a month, her sewing skill had reached a reasonably good level. She had already succeeded in producing the sort of underwear she normally wore, along with several kimonos and ordinary casual outfits. Naturally, she still could not make anything especially elaborate. Besides, Konoha herself had also grown fond of clothing from this other world.

“When we reach the Neutral City, I’m going shopping~”

she declared enthusiastically. In the end, it was all about balance.

Next came food, which posed absolutely no problem. Konoha’s cooking skill continued improving further and further. Thanks, Master! They also packed the food stored there, so they would be fine for quite some time. However, her item box was almost full, meaning obtaining an expansion item in the Neutral City became another objective.

As for bedding, there was no problem there either. Sewing could handle most of it, so they should be fine during their travels for the foreseeable future. Konoha, who could not sleep without a body pillow, created a homemade seal-shaped body pillow. It was unbelievably smooth and fluffy.

And finally, the carriage. For some reason, Meiro became completely obsessed with its construction, and one month later, she produced an outrageous work of art. There was a horse-drawn carriage made of ice that glittered like crystal, along with ice horses. By surrounding the outside with the 《Barrier》 skill, they could even prevent it from melting in the sun, making it perfect as a mobile residence. She had also made a cargo compartment large enough to carry all thirty girls.

“It’s finished…”

“Meiro-chan.”

“What?”

“Would you enter the Sapporo Snow Festival with me someday?”

“What are you even talking about…?”

Having discovered yet another adorable side of Meiro—her tendency to obsess over projects—the preparations entered their final phase.

Two days after the carriage was completed, Konoha and the others finally emerged into a place touched by sunlight.

And that brought us back to the beginning.

“Haa, haa, I’ve always wanted an adorable little sister like this!”

“Mgyuuu… can’t… breathe…”

One of the girls who had been intended as a sacrifice was squeezing Konoha tightly.

The reason was that when they finally released the girls from suspended animation so they could board the carriage, Konoha had explained the situation to them…

~Flashback~

“Um, so I’d like to take all of you somewhere safe. That’s why I want you to get into this carriage. You were kidnapped and went through something terrifying, so you might not be able to trust me… but even so, please believe in me… Mgh!”

“How could I not believe such an adorable girl!? Of course I trust you! Besides, you’re the one who saved our lives, aren’t you? If anything, I want to thank you for absolutely everything!”

The woman at the front hugged Konoha. Her soft, bouncing breasts struck Konoha directly in the face and demonstrated incredible cushioning power.

“How could I possibly repay you?”

“Hmm~”

“Mgh, phew! U-Um, you really don’t need to repay me or anything! I didn’t save you because I wanted something in return.”

““““But we want to repay you!””””

“E-Ehhh…”

Most of the intended sacrifices were girls aged seventeen to nineteen, meaning almost all of them were older than Konoha. Hence this overwhelming sense of security.

“I know! I’ll invite you to my home! My family is rich enough to support you for life as my little sister! Actually, please become my little sister!”

“Hey, no fair! Come to my place too!”

“U-Um, I’m not some household appliance every family needs… mghhh…”

“I’ll take her!” “No, me!” “My family!” “This humble one shall!”

~Flashback over~… This humble one?

“Skill 《Freeze》.”

Meiro waved her staff, causing the temperature in the area to drop sharply. Konoha remained unharmed thanks to the insulating properties of the breast cushion.

“Literally cool your heads. Konoha is doing this out of kindness. Think about repaying her later. Right now, I want to hurry up and feel sunlight.”

“Ahaha, Meiro-chan’s in a bad mood. Anyway, that’s how it is! I’m happy you feel that way, but escaping comes first. So come on, get in, get in!”

The girls climbed into the carriage looking slightly disappointed. Their journey was already shaping up to be difficult.

“Thanks, Meiro-chan♪”

“It was nothing. For some reason, I was simply feeling a little irritated. Now, you get in too. I’ll drive.”

“Okay! I’m counting on you, Meiro-chan!”

“Leave it to me. I’ll show you my driving technique.”

“You said it was automatic…”

The two looked at each other and then burst into amused laughter. Konoha wore her usual bright, carefree smile, while Meiro smiled coolly and confidently.

Konoha held out her hand and spoke to Meiro.

“Let’s keep going together from now on. Things are going to become even more fun. I’ll make sure they do. Will you come with me?”

It was phrased as a question, but Konoha was already certain of the answer. As if responding to that certainty, Meiro immediately took her hand and replied.

“Of course. Witches hate lies and boredom. I’ll stay with you properly, Konoha.”

The two smiled again. Holding the conviction in their hearts that everything would be all right as long as they were together, they turned toward the exit.

“Then let’s go! Out into the sunlight!”
