“Today, we’re going to explain Guilds! Your guides will be me, Kushibiki Konoha, and~”
“Meiro.”
“You hear the word Guild all the time, but what exactly is one? There sure were a lot of interesting people gathered there~”
“They were mostly vulgar pieces of trash.”
“Meiro-chan, that’s harsh….”
“I merely stated the facts. Most of them are trash. Especially low-ranking adventurers.”
“Ah, ahaha. You’ll basically understand everything just by reading Chapter 2, Episode 3 and Chapter 2, Episode 15, but we’ll go over the details properly one more time♪”
To put it simply, a Guild was—
‘A group of people who worked as adventurers.’
“Come to think of it, I don’t really know what an adventurer actually is~”
“That part was left somewhat vague. Then let’s start by explaining that.”
An adventurer was, broadly speaking, something like a mercenary. They did not serve in a national army, but they belonged to something called the 【Guild Federation】. By joining, they were issued a 【Tag】, which served as both identification and proof of qualification as an adventurer. Having one was convenient in many ways, so almost all adventurers were registered with the Guild Federation.
“There are many different kinds of Guilds. Adventurer Guilds are combat-oriented, while there are also merchant Guilds, agricultural Guilds… They’re basically like associations. But generally speaking, when people shorten it to just ‘Guild,’ they mean an Adventurer Guild.”
Adventurers belonged to the Adventurer Guild Federation, and among those adventurers, teams were formed into individual Guilds. Organizationally, it looked like this:
Guild Federation Headquarters > Guild Federation Branches (Guild Halls) > Individual Guilds > Adventurers
In the Sacred Kingdom of Parsia, there were also the 【Seven Generals】 who supervised the Guild Federation, and the system was effectively used to apprehend criminals.
“This is how adventurers join Guilds, then split into smaller teams within them and go hunt monsters… In this world, ‘monsters’ basically means demons and magical beasts.”
“Do they do that voluntarily?”
“Sometimes, but most hunts are carried out after reading papers called 【Request Forms】. Clients in each region submit request forms to Guild Federation branches and ask adventurers to eliminate targets.”
Clients traveled to the 【Guild Hall】 established in their region, submitted their request to a receptionist, and waited for someone to accept it. These Guild Halls operated not only in the Kingdom, but also in the Empire, Federation, United Kingdom, and Eastern Commonwealth. In that sense, the Guild Federation maintained a neutral position.
“The domestic Guild Federation Headquarters is in the royal capital, Paris Palace♪ And the Guild Hall in Racluzero was a Guild Federation branch building!”
“Correct. Above all the national Guild Federation Headquarters is the supreme headquarters located in Londinion, the capital of the United Kingdom. Individual Guilds scattered throughout each city use their nearest Guild Hall as a base. Of course, there isn’t enough room for everyone, so weaker groups get pushed out. Naturally, more people try to join large Guilds. Then, once they’re in one, they find companions and head out on adventures. That’s basically how it works.”
Client →→ Guild Federation (local Guild Hall) →→ Adventurer
That was the simplest way to visualize it. If an adventurer completed a request, the fee paid by the client became a 【Reward】 distributed to the adventurers through the Guild.
“To use Racluzero as an example, the client was Racluzero City. People on the Guild side, like Lord Carmen and Sid, arranged the work for the adventurers. Then, after we completed the request, we received the money offered by Racluzero City as our reward. We got quite a lot.”
In addition to accepting requests, also called quests, Guild Halls managed vaults, documents, and other records. If anyone tried something like robbing one, troops directly under the Seven Generals would come after them, so be warned.
Guilds also had various rules. One of them was that adventurers were supposed to accept requests appropriate for their 【Tag Color】.
“We explained Tag Colors in Chapter 2, Episode 3♪ If I remember right, you get evaluation points whenever you complete a request, and that’s how you rank up, right?”
“That’s right. Let’s go over them again.”
Gold Moon
Silver Moon
Bronze Moon
Purple Moon
Blue Moon
Green Moon
Yellow Moon
Orange Moon
Crimson Moon
White Moon
Gold, silver, and bronze were standard, and below those it was easiest to think of the ranking as getting stronger as it moved upward through the cooler colors of the rainbow. These ten ranks were deeply tied to quest acceptance, and many quests could only be accepted by adventurers of a certain Tag Color or higher.
“Yes, this part was copied straight from Chapter 2, Episode 3. I brought it back for review.”
“That’s Gold Moon-class levels of meta….”
“We’re Green Moon-class. Incidentally, once you reach this level, you can apply for an interview with the Royal Guard Knights.”
“Um… so a mercenary becomes a regular soldier?”
“Exactly. Adventurers of Orange Moon-class or higher can serve as 【Knights】 at various garrisons. It’s a stable occupation, but I wouldn’t recommend it because you’re constantly sent off to war. Adventurers who can’t find other work generally become provincial knights.”
Even after becoming knights, they sometimes continued accepting requests and heading out on quests. To all those adventurers trying to build themselves a respectable position in society—good luck!
“The Kingdom’s wars are fought by generals dispatched from the royal capital and nobles who control each military district. They command the garrison troops, and large numbers of adventurers are recruited for major battles.”
Generals and chief administrators were permanently stationed at strategic locations throughout the Kingdom and commanded their respective military units. In places where none were stationed, local nobles led their own troops into battle. That should make the distinction between regular soldiers and adventurers clear.
“Many of the current generals and chief administrators were originally powerful figures in the Guilds who were simply appointed to those positions. One example is Eden Nosvel, one of the Seven Generals.”
“Ahh, I couldn’t bear watching what happened in Hazardo….”
“Yes, that was truly awful. Eden Nosvel used to be a Bronze Moon-class adventurer. The current king summoned him into government service and made him a general.”
“The Inquisitors were similar, right?”
“Inquisitors are followers of the Church of the Full Moon who are also high-ranking adventurers.”
“Uwaaah… this is complicated.”
“To be fair, you don’t really need to remember any of this. This explanation is just for people who want to understand all the finer details.”
“I was wondering, just how strong is someone like a Bronze Moon-class adventurer?”
“You can’t say Tag Color is determined solely by level, but as a rough guideline, it looks something like this.”
【Top-Tier Adventurers】
Gold Moon-class: Estimated Level 90 (Honestly, 99.9% impossible)
Silver Moon-class: Estimated Level 70 (Basically the true highest rank)
Bronze Moon-class: Estimated Level 50 (You stop being human around here)
【High-Ranking Adventurers】
Purple Moon-class: Estimated Level 45 (Top-class fighters such as Legato)
Blue Moon-class: Estimated Level 38 (Major figures such as Sid)
Green Moon-class: Estimated Level 30 (Skilled adventurers such as Ezel)
【Mid-Ranking Adventurers】
Yellow Moon-class: Estimated Level 20 (Lots of arrogant idiots)
Orange Moon-class: Estimated Level 15 (You can become a knight starting here)
【Low-Ranking Adventurers】
Crimson Moon-class: Estimated Level 9
White Moon-class: Estimated Level 3
“Incidentally, children of nobles and kids who have undergone extensive training sometimes become knights even while they’re still White Moon-class, but I’m excluding cases like that.”
“Do Gold Moon-class adventurers actually exist?”
“They’re said to exist but simply remain hidden, though who knows. There are rumors that several Silver Moon-class adventurers have already reached Gold Moon-class, but nothing has been confirmed.”
“The Heroes were Gold Moon-class, right?”
“Yes. The known Gold Moon-class adventurers in history were the First Hero, the Second Hero, and a few others. There’s also a rumor that the Hero said to be living in the Slovia Federation is Gold Moon-class.”
“Wow!! I wanna meet them!!”
“Well then, that should cover the basic explanation.”
“That was complicated.”
“You really don’t need to memorize it. As long as you have a general grasp of the structure, there’s no problem.”
“I hope someday we get to meet Bronze Moon-class and Silver Moon-class people too!”
“Yes. I’m sure they possess tremendous power. And someday, we’ll rise that high ourselves.”
“Yeah, you’re right. We’ve gotta work hard! And that wraps things up! See you in the next TIPS!”
