Chapter 101: Why Doesn’t The Heavenly Emperor Explain Things?

“Could it be that there was a misunderstanding about the Heavenly Emperor massacring the human race back then?” said one of the cultivators.

Actually, he didn’t have to say it out loud. That was the first thing that came to everyone’s mind.

Gu Changqing had been standing in front of them all this time. How could he have suddenly gone out to massacre humans without them knowing?

All of you know very well how many evil things he has done over the years. Does someone like that really need a reason for committing mass murder?”

In reality, Ye Chen wasn’t really confident of what he was saying either.

He had looked forward to this massacre for so long, but all he got was this!

“The Heavenly Emperor clearly did not kill anybody in this city, yet the people here are still pointing fingers at him, accusing him of being the killer.”

Jiang Minghuang spoke up in a calm voice.

The Heavenly Emperor had not killed anyone at all, yet the humans pushed the blame of the murders onto him.

They could still understand the cultivator who accused him.

But the few mortals who had accused him first? It was hard to explain why they said that. It was as though they just wanted to accuse him for no reason.

“Emperor Jiang, you mean…?”

“The Heavenly Emperor has been framed. Or at least, that’s probably the case for this particular city. As for the rest…I can’t be sure,” said Jiang Minghuang flatly.

“But if he was framed, why didn’t he explain things? He obviously didn’t do this!” said one of the cultivators.

The Heavenly Emperor had a high standing among the humans. He was even called the ruler of humans, the first to become a Quasi-Emperor, the protector of their land.

Even if someone did accuse the Heavenly Emperor of doing such a thing, the Heavenly Emperor just had to refute the man and countless humans would stand on the Heavenly Emperor’s side.

After all, the Heavenly Emperor had done way too much for the human race all these years.

Everyone was silent.

Nobody could understand why the Heavenly Emperor would just let this happen without explaining anything, why he would be willing to take the rap for something like this and allow himself to be cursed and spat at for thousands of years to come!

Gu Changqing ignored the cultivator that was yelling accusations at him.

He scanned the few mortals that were accusing him and found that they hadn’t been possessed by something else.

Then he left this place immediately.

Gu Changqing tore the void and took one leap to arrive elsewhere that was thousands of miles away.

This was also another city.

And the scene he saw in this city was exactly the same as the previous city.

Dead bodies everywhere.

Blood flowing everywhere.

The stench of blood drowned the skies and hit the clouds.

It was as though this was hell on earth. The bodies of adults, children, elderly, were all piled on top of each other, piled into high mountains of corpses.

The entire city was dead silent. As though the tens of thousands of humans had all died.

Gu Changqing heard an angry voice screaming at him again.

He turned to look at where that voice had come from. It was an old person, but it was as though someone had kept this person alive on purpose. The old person was severely injured, but had one last breath left.

Right now, this old person was filled with nothing but rage and hatred as they glared ferociously at him!

Gu Changqing did not sense that this old person was possessed or that their soul had been replaced either.

He landed among the corpses and came to the old person, hoping to save the old person and get them to tell him exactly what happened.

But the moment he got to the old person, they breathed that last breath and died.

In the sky.

Ripples spread across the void.
