I went to ask Great High Priestess Jessica about it too.

“Yo, Jessica. There’s something I want to ask—do you know anything about this one? It’s a species called Rainbow Fals.”

“Eh? No way? Appraisal! O-oh, it’s the real thing~”

The spirits were making a racket like they had gone mad too.

Even amid that chaos, there were some formidable ones who took advantage of the confusion to come sucking up my magic power.

Did she know something?

I should have come here to ask first.

Thinking about it, there were tons of spirits being kept here.

“Sacred Elion.”

“Eh?”

“That is what we humans call what the Fals and the spirits call it. It is an existence like a divine messenger. If the power of the spirits runs dry, droughts, famines, floods, and such occur, and then war in the human world also becomes unending. The Fals, protector of those spirits. In the Spirit Forest, the most sacred place to the spirits, an existence that may be called a kind of enshrined deity, serving as the messenger of Ross, the chief god, in a place that could also be called a shrine of the god upon the earth. And on top of that, to be able to worship alive the legendary Rainbow Fals, which is an especially special existence among them. Ahh, how grateful, how grateful.”

At last Jessica knelt down and started worshipping Fal.

Huh?

I thought there were not supposed to be any actual gods in this world?

I thought an enshrined deity meant a god worshipped at a shrine, but did a Fals also serve in place of an enshrined deity as the god’s proxy?

“Kyuuiii—”

But at my feet, tugging on the hem of my trousers and acting completely unmoved by all that fuss, Fal was begging for snacks.

Was this really such some grand existence??

I showed my face at the royal palace too and informed the king.

While pointing at the mysterious creature on top of my head.

“So anyway, we are looking after this child at my place.”

“That is again… something quite extraordinary, following the sacred lot.”

“Ah, come to think of it, what happened to that sacred lot from before?”

“It had far too many problems, so it has been sealed away in the treasury as it was. Even so, it seems its effects still properly reach things.”

Ahahahahaha.

It was no laughing matter, but not my problem.

I also went to show Fal to His Highness Prince Emilio.

His Highness was utterly overjoyed by the visit from the adorable creature.

Man, that was heartwarming.

I got a perfect recording of the wonderful scene of adorable beings together.

I only meant to stay a little, but I ended up playing together with him for three whole hours.

The princesses also came over after hearing talk of “something cute.”

Apparently, among the royal maids, there existed a network for exchanging that sort of information.

I also talked about various things with old man Ruba for the first time in a while.

The Crown Prince?

Now formally recognized by the country as Crown Prince, he was already buried under a mountain of work.

It was a bit hard to go bother him, even for me.

After that, I stopped by Armon’s place one more time.

“So that is Sacred Elion? Are you saying Sacred Elion is something called a Rainbow Fals!”

“You know of Sacred Elion?”

“The only one who does not is probably you. Even I have only heard of it in legends, though.”

Then Legg-san said while tapping a file.

“Rather than legend, it is simply historical fact. It is an old story, but it is written in the kingdom’s records as well. And in the Ross faith, which worships the chief god, it is an existence that is sacred and inviolable. That is why it is called that.”

I see.

It might be that Elion was the name of the Fals that first appeared in human history, or was greatly involved in it and performed some kind of salvation-like deed.

Then I went back to the Beast-Ear Garden and asked Jolly.

“How is this one’s mother doing now?”

“She is properly still alive. It is enough that she lives. At present, two generations are both alive and well, so this is an age in which the power of the Fals is fairly strong. And on top of that, a parent and child pair of Rainbow Fals. The spirits in particular are overflowing with power as well, and are in a state where they can bestow blessings on the land and such in various ways.”

Well, if the spirits all over the world gorged themselves that much on the astronomical amount of magic power I had, then yeah.

At the very least, I wished they would work properly for the sake of the world by at least the amount they had eaten.

That was good, Fal.

It sounded like your mom was doing well.

All right!

I was in a good mood today, so I would bring that out.

So, with a loud clatter-clatter-clatter-clatter, the little ones were running around.

Inside several oversized exercise wheels for hamsters that I had brought out.

Little cat-girl Remi and Fal were spinning them in a race.

I just hoped they would not throw up later.

It felt just like a sports gym.

Should I just go all out and present the Crown Prince with a larger adult-sized one too?

Touya wanted to take it apart, and the children waiting their turn were scolding him.

A walking machine would be nice too.

If anything, that felt like something the Crown Prince needed more.

Maybe I would make one next time.

A full set of training equipment like the kind used in a gym.

There had been a time when even I had gone to the gym and worked hard for a while.

There had also been a time when I rode dozens of kilometers on a bicycle every day.

And the preparations for Antonio and the others’ wedding were steadily progressing too.

Today, after returning, I had been working on preparations for the sports day, and also writing the script for the school-play performance.

Fal had grown quite a bit too.

Since she could absorb magic power from me to her heart’s content, she was growing rapidly.

She had lost that chick-like feeling, and now gave more of an impression like, “the down has been replaced.”

It was neither feathers nor scales, and it was not fluffy either.

And when you stroked her, it felt indescribably pleasant to the touch.

Just what in the world was this?

At this point, there was nothing else to call it but simply, “because she was a Fals.”

As though one were admiring a cloud.

It felt a little different from marshmallow too.

Maybe it was something gratefully? brought about by some kind of energy that Fals emitted.

Did her face look a little rodent-like?

It was a bit roundish, somewhat weasel-like, and her tail was fluffy.

But the feel of it was completely different from ordinary fur.

Her body did not have fur growing on it, but it did not feel slimy either.

If anything, it had a refreshing feel to it that was rather pleasant.

When she rubbed against my face and such, it gave a sort of pleasure that was hard to describe.

Well, if it came down to it, maybe the pet slot would be fine too.

Apparently I was a Spirit Demon King too, so it should be fine if I kept Sacred Elion as a pet.
