‘Hmm…’
Mae Young-ryeong’s stats draw an involuntary groan.
And to make matters worse, since she checked after a long time, the stats from when she was under ‘Witch of Doom’ are shown for comparison.
Her body flinches the moment she sees the stats.
It’s not an accessory that grants a flat increase like the Felici ornament I’m wearing.
But considering Mae Young-ryeong’s luck, which can easily fall below 100, I thought that pendant would be more effective.
And the Divinity Core that, at a glance, looked like Genesis had meant to give to their representative seemed rightly destined for them, so I handed it over as well.
“First, before you wear the pendant, take the Divinity Core. With this.”
When I also handed over divine power recovery potions, Mae Young-ryeong held the pendant gently in both hands and began to cry.
Ignoring the party’s flustered looks, she carefully placed the pendant she’d been hugging into her magic pouch.
With a face that radiated deep resolve, she gulped down two divine power potions and immediately brought the Divinity Core to her mouth.
Like Arun, or rather an even greater storm of divine power than Arun’s, swept through her.
The amount and density of divine power surging around Mae Young-ryeong, eyes closed, increased.
Perhaps due to the storm of divine power, the Jaryong that had been sleeping on Merus’s lap woke up.
When the Jaryong stood up, Merus—who had been delighted—soon turned glum, because the drowsy Jaryong peeked at the two representatives and buried its face to sleep again.
“We don’t have time, so let’s move quickly. This is for Naruan.”
What was taken from the inventory was an extremely long scythe.
Naruan, who had been sparkling-eyed since seeing the scythe’s head, leaped up and stamped her feet when the red-glowing scythe was fully revealed.
“This requires owner registration—can Naruan actually do it?”
“I can!”
“Should we just give it to Hazel?”
“No! I can handle it well, I tell you?!”
“Will you memorize everyone’s names and combat styles by tomorrow?”
“Yes!! No! No, yes!”
Is that a yes or a no?
Not only I, but everyone looking at Naruan let out small laughs.
But Naruan herself paid no mind to that; her gaze was fixed solely on the red scythe.
When the scythe was handed over, she brushed aside the appraisal sheet, gripped the scythe, stared blankly for a moment, then nodded.
She must be performing the owner registration.
Then she chuckled and rubbed her face against the scythe’s haft.
Those who picked up the fluttered appraisal sheets and began reading slowly backed away from Naruan as they realized how fearsome the scythe she grinned with truly was.
“Naruan, if you don’t properly check the weapon appraisal, I’ll take it back, okay?”
“Ah, no! Chief. I was about to!”
Then she urgently gestured to Lee Hyo-ju, took the appraisal sheet, and read it.
Yet she didn’t pocket the ‘True Flame’; she held it tightly in her left hand and pretended to read the appraisal diligently with her right.
“If you can’t answer even one question later or miss something, I’ll take it back right away.”
“Got it!! Hng….”
“Kimana, you’re mean…”
She even muttered ‘Kimani’ after a long while, so it seemed she really liked the weapon.
Honestly, her weapon was the best. That piece of gear was far better than my cloak…
No wonder an achievement generated and an epithet was attached to the gear as soon as it was crafted.
It felt as if the materials had been prepared specifically to make the scythe.
They took a piece of the Dragon Heart dropped by Caelum and embedded it into the haft as if absorbing it, and an absurd weapon was born.
The fan given to Lee Hyo-ju had been inspired while making Naruan’s scythe, so her weapon was truly something that could be used until the end of the Battlefield of the Gods.
It’s no wonder Naruan fussed like this after a long time.
It was such an incredible weapon that, elsewhere, a legion could be split into several over it.
But the representatives gathered here merely laughed at Naruan’s whining and showed no real interest in the scythe.
After a moment, everyone’s gaze converged on one spot.
Arun and Mae Young-ryeong, having fully absorbed their cores, also gave off a changed atmosphere and fixed their eyes on Hazel.
“First, Hazel gets this.”
“Golem?!”
“Huh?”
“Hazel. Try it, try it!”
“Companion…”
“To be honest, I didn’t have the materials. I thought long and hard about what to make, so use this as a bodyguard until you can summon a spirit.”
Representatives of Space aren’t much bound by equipment due to their absurd powers. If desired, a Force-enhancing talisman or core like a Force Core will suffice.
Still, for Hazel—who the Blind Blade’s fate for was uncertain—I made a golem based on the adamanthium golem info confirmed earlier in Mors’s dungeon.
However, contrary to expectations, the creation process was difficult and consumed an enormous amount of Force.
I checked Hazel’s information and saw she was extremely pleased for the first time in a while.
Clearly Hazel also worked hard like the others.
Her increased Spirit stat and skill levels improved noticeably, and her Stamina rose considerably. Not as dramatic as others, but respectable.
But now it’s time to force a choice upon her as well.
“And this.”
I thought the Force Core that had been in Spatium’s dungeon with a book should naturally belong to Hazel.
The party’s eyes turned to Naruan, but she and everyone else looked at her red scythe and soon nodded in understanding.
“I’ll give Naruan something else later, when she’s in her 5th year. And this is indeed Hazel’s. It’s practically from Spatium. Anyway, that’s Hazel’s for now, and before she consumes it, take a look at these.”
The items laid out on the terrace table were extraordinary.
Even Arun swallowed and looked around, as if sensing it.
“Well, you’ve all seen them—amazing, right? Normally the Spirit Core should go to Lee Hyo-ju. But since the weapon she received is so valuable, I’ll push that down the priority list for now. Instead… Hazel.”
Everyone looked at Hazel with question-mark expressions, surprised her name was called.
“Now you must choose. What kind of representative will you be? I know well your desperate wish to summon spirits. That’s why I didn’t say anything despite your four years of training being skewed that way. But if things continue like this, you’ll end up in-between. So choose one of the two. If you want to focus on spirits, I won’t scold you—set the Force Core aside and take this Spirit Core.”
My blunt words surprised the other representatives more than Hazel.
An awkward silence quietly settled over the terrace. None of those present could easily speak.
As time passed, the silence grew heavier, pressing down on our shoulders.
