The archers, who had gotten their arrow thrown back at them, were flipped over and writhing like dying cockroaches.

But I stared fixedly at my own hands instead.

“…This is my power…!?”

Because I had raised my Five Senses, my sight and hearing were honed like a beast’s.

Because I had raised my Agility, every movement was swift as the wind.

Because I had raised my Strength, I could send an arrow farther than a bow ever could.

Because I had raised my Focus, I could make it land exactly where I aimed—without even a millimeter of error.

“It’s like my body isn’t even mine anymore…!”

Still, there was a slight sense of discomfort in my hands.

With my Dexterity reduced, it felt like the razor-sharp sensitivity in my fingers—so precise I could thread a needle even with my eyes closed—had dulled.

But since I could restore it anytime, it wasn’t a serious problem.

“Amazing… with this, I can do anything…!”

Buzzing with excitement, I checked the effect of the other remaining skill.

Dexterous Job Change
Uses dexterity to take on a different class.

At the moment, there were three classes I could choose from.

Combat
Battle Axe User (Axe Battler)

While I was wondering which to choose—

Students who had finished the party poured out of the castle in a noisy crowd.

“All right! We’re starting to build a settlement! Get into the forest and gather materials!

If we don’t finish houses by nightfall, we’ll be sleeping outside!”

“Whaaat!? No way I’m camping out!”

“Yeah, lying out in the open is something only trash would do! If you don’t wanna be like trash, get fired up!”

It looked like every class started by building somewhere to live.

Brawny men—probably warriors—headed into the nearby forest with axes on their shoulders.

I didn’t even have a tool to cut wood with, so I decided to become a Ranger for now.

Ten MP was consumed, and my class changed from None to Ranger.

A Ranger’s class skill, Survival, appeared.

Class: None ⇒ Ranger
Class Skill
Survival
Knowledge and techniques to survive even in harsh conditions.

The moment I gained the passive skill Survival, survival knowledge flooded into my mind.

“…All right. First, I’ll make tools—a stone knife and a stone axe!”

I followed after the warriors and dashed into the forest.

As I searched among fallen rocks, I heard mocking laughter.

“Hahaha! What’s the trash guy doing?”

“Looks like he’s hunting for stones! Guess he finally snapped!”

Ignoring the warriors laughing as they chopped wood, I found a stone that fit perfectly in my grip.

I sharpened the edge by striking it against a rock and completed a Stone Knife.

Next, I shaped a larger, flat stone and tied it to a thick tree branch using plant vines.

“All right… I’ve got a Stone Axe too!”

For me, this item was my first craft of high school life.

So happy I could barely contain myself, I raised the stone axe to the sky like a hero’s holy sword.

Flash…!

My body was bathed in light streaming through the clouds, sparkling as it shone.

A window appeared before me.

“You leveled up!”

At the unexpected surprise, I blurted out, “Whoa!”

“I leveled up just from making a knife and an axe!? Is that because of Dexterous Growth?”

Dexterity went up by a hundred points…!?

Even at most, a stat only rose about five points on level-up…!

And I had gained another class option.

An Appraiser was extremely useful for survival.

I immediately changed classes.

Appraisal
Allows you to learn an item’s value and capabilities.

As a test, I used Appraisal on my handmade stone axe.

A window showing the appraisal result appeared above it.

A shaped piece of forest-stone tied to a tree branch.
Thanks to various bonuses, it has several times the sharpness of an iron axe.

“…Several times sharper than an iron axe!? Seriously!?”

As I shouted in excitement with the stone axe in hand, the warriors started picking on me again.

“Hahaha, look at him! The trash guy’s freaking out over a stone axe!”

“He’s like a caveman! What’s he gonna do with that pathetic thing?”

“Gyaahaha! Bet he’d piss himself if he saw fire!”

Ignoring their stupid laughter, I changed to Woodcutter (Woodman).

Gripping the stone axe, I activated the High-Speed Felling skill on the huge tree in front of me.

“UOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!”

…DOGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAAAAAAAAAA!!

Wood chips burst out like spray, and a deep cut tore into the trunk.

The massive tree swayed, leaning toward the warriors.

“It’s coming down!”

When I shouted that, the warriors scattered like spiders.

With a BOOM that shook the ground, the warriors who didn’t get away in time fell backward with squeals.

“W-what was that just now…!? He cut down a tree that huge in an instant…!?”

“Even us warriors with axes can barely take down a skinny tree…!”

“No way! Wasn’t the trash guy supposed to be unemployed!?”

While they stood frozen in shock, I roughly chopped the wood into manageable sections with the stone axe.
