Before I knew it, three Warriors had surrounded me.
“What, you want something?”
“Hey, trash! A fine log like that is wasted on a loser like you!”
“We’ll put it to good use, so drop the wood and get lost!”
“Cut it out. The sponsors are watching.”
“Are you stupid? You think the sponsors’ opinion will drop just because we rough up one Special Training Class loser?”
“If we beat you to a pulp, the sponsors might even love it! Gyahaha!”
“I didn’t mean it like that… I just thought it’d be sad if you embarrassed yourselves in front of the sponsors on your very first day…”
“What’d you say, bastard!? We’re Warriors! There’s no way we’d lose to an unemployed nobody like you!”
I readjusted my grip on the axe.
‘Not the way you held it against a tree, but the way you held it against a person.’
“You might be ‘pros at fighting’… but right now, I’m a pro at axe fighting.”
“If you’re fine with that, come at me.”
“Don’t get cockyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!”
As the Warriors swung their iron axes down, I swept my stone axe in a horizontal slash—like I was smacking the side of their weapons away.
…ZUDOGAAAAAA——————————————!!
The Axe Battler skill, Weapon Break.
The iron axes struck by my stone battle axe shattered one after another, soft as wafers.
“W-whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!?!!?”
Clutching the remaining handles with scraps of iron stuck to them, the Warriors screamed like they were in a nightmare.
“W-w-w-what the hell is this!? What is thisssss!?”
“H-how should I know!? More importantly, what do we do!? Our precious axes are ruined!”
“And if people find out we lost… our class will—! Damn it! Then… if that’s how it is…!”
“…If that’s how it is?”
I slammed the stone axe into the ground at their feet—THUD!
That alone made them yelp, “Eek!?” as their legs gave out.
“P-please forgive usssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!”
They threw themselves into full-on prostrations, tossing pride and dignity aside completely.
“S-s-sorrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!”
As I watched the Warriors flee while bawling, my body began to sparkle.
A window appeared in front of me.
“You leveled up!”
So happy I couldn’t help it, I blurted out, “Whoa!”
“I leveled up again. Maybe cutting down trees and teaching those Warriors a lesson did it?”
Oh—another class option had increased again.
Since I was planning to build a house next, this might be perfect timing.
I immediately became a Carpenter.
“All right—time to build a house! First, I need to haul the Gisu lumber I felled to an open spot!”
But carrying it by hand would take way too long.
And I still needed a lot more lumber to build a house, so moving it in bulk would be more efficient.
So I decided to make a handcart.
I thought it would be hard without tools, but thanks to the Carpenter skill, it was finished in no time.
After that, I cut down about five more trees and obtained a total of fifty Gisu Lumber (Large).
I loaded it onto the handcart, tied it down with plant vines so it wouldn’t fall, and left the forest.
In the distance, I could see the castle that served as the school building.
Around it, large numbers of new students were busy building settlements.
Apparently, each class had been given an assigned plot of land, and they had to build their houses within that area.
So where was the plot for my Special Training Class?
I didn’t feel like walking around to search, so I used the enhanced eyesight from my Five Senses to look for it.
Right now, my eyes were so good I could count the number of pasta strands from a hundred meters away.
But there was nothing like it anywhere around the castle.
Then, when I turned back—just in case…
I found a signboard in the forest that read:
“Garbage Dump (Special Training Class Residential Plot)”
“So you want me to live in the forest… fine.”
I pulled the handcart back along the path I had come.
I parked it beside the sign and immediately started building.
I had been dexterous with my hands since birth, so I’d made all sorts of things since I was a kid.
I had helped with house-building before, but it was my first time building an entire house alone from scratch.
But the moment I activated Wooden Construction, the Carpenter skill, my body moved without hesitation.
Like a veteran carpenter who had built countless homes—my body seemed to remember every step.
Since I had no nails, I used a construction method called wood joinery, fitting wood pieces together.
It felt as fun as playing with puzzles, and I became completely absorbed as I assembled the house.
And only now did I realize—
“In just one day, I made a stone axe and a handcart, beat three Warriors, cut down five trees… And even though I’m building a house right now, I don’t feel tired at all…!? With Endurance at 200, you really get insane stamina…!”
Before I knew it, a sturdy two-story house stood before me.
