“This time, we’re going up against a monster lurking deep inside a dungeon. Come to think of it, this is actually my first time exploring a dungeon…”

I spoke to Flare and Zels.

“Didn’t you hire a mapper or any other personnel for dungeon exploration?”

Zels asked.

“Huh? We need people like that?”

“Are you complete amateurs!?”

Zels couldn’t help shouting.

“Sorry… We’re pretty much beginners.”

“Same here…”

“N-No, don’t look so depressed. You’re making me feel guilty… I was just making a joke.”

Zels spoke as though trying to reassure us.

Huh. Was this guy actually more considerate than he seemed?

“You should head back for now and recruit some additional personnel.”

“That would probably be the safest option—”

Just as I was about to nod in agreement with Zels,

“Awoooooooo!”

A roar echoed from somewhere near the dungeon entrance.

“Isn’t that a monster?”

“Lucky us. If it’s near the entrance, we can just head over and take it down.”

I started walking briskly.

“Ah, wait! I’m coming too.”

“I’m coming too, Onii-sama~”

The two hurried after me.

I’d gotten a little ahead of myself, but I stopped when I sensed a monster’s presence up ahead.

“That thing is—”

It looked like a gigantic eyeball.

“Whoa! That’s an A-Rank monster, a Gigant Eye!”

“Huh? That’s not what the information said… I thought our target was supposed to be a B-Rank Big Eye—”

Was this another case of inaccurate information, like when we’d fought the Goblin Lord?

“Run! Its specialty is—”

Flash!

Zels’s warning came at the exact moment the Gigant Eye unleashed a beam of light from its eye.

“I-I can’t move—”

“Neither can I…”

“Damn it! I let my guard down…”

All three of us stood frozen in place like statues.

“It’s the Gigant Eye’s [Paralysis: Supreme Grade] skill…”

Zels groaned.

“Just as the name suggests, it has a seventy percent chance of completely immobilizing its target… If you have a skill that can counter it, you can lower that probability, though.”

“I’m guessing none of us has one… And now all three of us have been caught…”

This… might actually be dangerous.

Incidentally, my current skills were:

[Fire Arrow: Ultimate] [Concentration: High Grade] [Slash: Ultimate] [Thrust: Ultimate] [Whirlwind Slash: Ultimate] [Ice Blast: Ultimate] [Magic Detection: High Grade] [Ice Shield: Ultimate] [Rapid Chanting: Intermediate Grade] [Straight Punch: High Grade] [Enhanced Endurance: High Grade] [Physical Enhancement: Intermediate Grade] [Martial Arts: Ultimate] [Throwing Techniques: Ultimate] [State of Selflessness: Lower Grade]

That was my current skill lineup.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have anything that could cleanse this [Paralysis] effect.

“Hmm, what should I do…?”

The Gigant Eye was staring straight at us.

This was bad. If it attacked us now, we’d have no way to defend ourselves.

And then, just as I was thinking that—

Crack!

I heard a sound like something shattering, and suddenly, I regained control of my body.

“Huh? Wait, what…?”

I hadn’t used a skill.

In the first place, I didn’t possess any skills capable of cleansing [Paralysis].

Which meant this had to be—

“Could it be… the power of a title?”
