I waved my hand to signal our safety.

“Hey! It went well!”

“What do you mean ‘it went well’!? What on earth did you do to cause such a dangerous event!?”

“Exactly! If something had happened to you, Sir Ryu, it would have been a disaster!”

“Ryu, I’m so glad you’re safe!”

Man, it was a success, so they could at least praise me a little.

“By the way, Ryu… who is that lady?”

Mark looked at Karin and asked.

“This is Karin, the one providing the flame.”

I introduced Karin, who was clinging to my left arm. Though, technically, she’d been here all along.

“Is that person really that eagle from before?”

“Yeah. You probably couldn’t see because of the fire vortex, but I watched it happen right in front of me.”

“…Then I suppose I have no choice but to accept it.”

Exactly. Just accept it.

Because of this, there’s now a real possibility that the sword production can move forward.

“Even so, what beautiful feathers…”

Mark muttered as he picked up one of Karin’s fallen feathers from the ground.

They really were beautiful feathers and wings.

A deep, rich crimson.

I’m certain no one but Karin possesses such magnificent wings.

“O-Of course they are… it’s only natural that these feathers are beautiful…”

“What’s wrong, Dolf? Why are you trembling like that?”

Seriously, what was up with him? Did he catch a summer cold?

“Ryu, do you not know the species of that individual?”

Dolf asked me. Come to think of it, I didn’t.

“Karin, what species are you?”

“Hmm? I’m a Garuda, Papa.”

If I recall, wasn’t a Garuda a divine bird? A sacred eagle feared even by the gods, a being from folklore said to possess the power to slay serpents and dragons.

“Wait, Karin, you were an outrageous species like that!?”

“Yeah. But I think ‘outrageous’ is a bit of an exaggeration.”

Sigh. If you aren’t outrageous, then I wonder what kind of species would be.

“Dowal, with Karin’s flame, don’t you think we can finally do something about Grandfather’s fang?”

However, Dowal and the others were still frozen in place.

‘If anything, Ryu, it’s you who is accepting this far too easily. Even I have never seen a Garuda before.’

Fair point. It’s not exactly a being you expect to meet in your lifetime.

‘Ril, do you think Karin’s flame can change Grandfather’s fang?’

‘Who knows? Even if she is a Garuda, she was only just born into this form, so it’s hard to say.’

I suppose it’s only natural that those with more years behind them are stronger.

“Realistically, finding a flame better than this would be difficult.”

Beyond a divine bird, the only things I could think of were ultra-high-rank dragons or spirits.

“If even this doesn’t work, should we try asking an Ancient Dragon?”

“Moo—I’m stronger than a dragon!”

Karin seemed to have a strange sense of rivalry. I’d better make sure we don’t run into any dragons.

“Surely, this will be more than enough. With Lady Karin’s flame, we can make the sword.”

Yeah, yeah. Dowal said so too, so it’ll probably be fine.

“Then let’s head back to the workshop immediately and get back to making the sword.”

As we turned to leave, Mark spoke in a whisper.

“Ryu, Ryu. May I have the feathers that fell on the ground?”

“Sure, why not? They fell off naturally anyway.”

“Thank you so much!!”

Afterward, the large crowd—Mark included—poured all their effort into gathering Karin’s feathers.

Apparently, they wanted to make accessories out of them to sell, or keep them as charms for protection against dragons.

At any rate, with Karin’s flame, the production of the sword has officially begun in earnest.
